  1. While it’s nice to have some OBC, We don’t usually bother any longer. We used to do the future cruise certificate option where you can leave it open, but since that’s done away with, I just don’t see the point unless we would be booking something for the shorter term and I absolutely know I wouldn’t change it. That’s just me though.

Out of curiosity, are you considering the solo cruise based on Hucifers “Allure: Confessions of a Solo Passenger?” If so, you aren’t alone as I admit it has peaked my interest in giving it a try one day. If not, I HIGHLY suggest you read the entire thread! It’s a fantastic read that make you LOL many times.

  2. Congrats enjoy that Boardwalk balcony! We had a surprise upgrade on our first Oasis cruise during its the inaugural season. We had 2 adults and 2 small kids in a oceanview balcony but when we got to the pier at check in and double checked out stateroom number we discovered we were in. JS. Thanks...well take that! Never has happened again but perhaps one day it will;)

  3. I’m thinking of getting the Refreshment package this time around vs the Deluxe as I’ve cut back on the amount of alcoholic beverages that I consume. I get the Diamond drinks in the evening so to me the Deluxe won’t be worth it. However, I Know I’ll probably want a real cocktail (frozen or otherwise) once a day. Does anyone know how that might work to turn a virgin cocktail into an me with alcohol?

    Thanks!!

  4. I can completely relate to your feelings. Cruise ship are magical and do leave lasting impressions for many young kids (and adults too).

The magic for me started in the late 80's as a tween on NCL to the Caribbean and 2nd was on Royal in the early 90's. I can't remember the name of the ship for sure...but I think it was the Song of America to the Mexican Riviera. I have been hooked ever since and have hooked both my DH, DS and DD.

I think the passion and allure (ha, see what I did there?!?) of cruising is in my blood as my father came to the United States in the early 60's via Cruise Ship from Rome to NY. He and his family left all they had behind in Communist Eastern Europe in search of freedom and the American dream. To this day, my father fondly looks back on his voyage to the U.S. even if it was in 3rd class steerage and he and my mom love to cruise as well.

  5. I Love Labadee...DH, not so much sadly. To me the water and beautiful lush mountains are amazing and love that you don’t really need to think about what to do for the day and plan it all out. We splurged on a cabana a few years ago but right after that they shot the prices of those things way up that it’s out of my budget now. Supply and Demand at its finest! On our last visit we completely forgot about bringing cash to tip for the beach chairs. I felt really bad and such an idiot for doing so, but all our stuff was in place when we went in the water for a good amount of time. While it’s a nice gesture to tip these guys, it’s certainly not mandatory.

P.S. Love all your boys’ Warrior gear! Although we live in Laker land, we are Warrior fans!!
