  1. Hi Jim! I know you are busy (☺️☺️☺️), but some of us are Very curious about the ‘Suite Access’ you got for an Alex and Evelyn! Thanks in advance!
  2. You’re welcome! And, CONGRATULATIONS on the wedding and best wishes for a great Honeymoon! 🚢💍🌴🥂🍾🏖️🎉🎊
  3. This item will be no problem whatsoever! Enjoy the Equinox!
  4. In my experience, the biggest difference was NOT on Chic nights, it was on the ‘other’ nights. I think Brits and Europeans dress more nicely than we Americans do for dinner in general. JintyGirl was spot on!
  5. Hi Ken! Really love taking this journey with you, and your photos are superb! Question about some of the sunset photos from Blu…do you have a blue filter on your camera, or is the window in Blu tinted Blue? They are so spectacular! Thanks, and enjoy every minute!!
  6. Dear OP and the rest of the posters in this thread: Thank you! I am a brand newbie to NCL after lots of sailings on Celebrity and Royal. I read through this thread with great interest. I always prefer to have my expectations at a reasonable level before I sail. All of you have taught me something (some more than others! 🤣). My friends chose our next cruise on the Escape. Quite frankly, based on things like loyalty and casino status, we could probably have booked Celebrity for much less. But we are ready to try something new, and time with our Dear Friends is worth a lot to me. So…I will temper my expectations, and I am Certain we will have a wonderful time!! I ❤️ that the OP shared his thoughts, and I learned Lots from the rest of you along the thread! Happy Cruising to all!
  7. I’m brand new to NCL, but based on the above thread, is it possible for one guest to buy the soda package, or do both people on the reservation have to get a package? TIA.
  8. Thank you, Charla!! I really ❤️ your live reviews!! How about that Salsa review?
  9. Ferry Watcher, X will leave your room choice alone. Just because it CAN hold four, doesn’t mean it has to! Sounds like you got one of the SVs with a slightly bigger balcony; good choice!!
  10. If you mean ‘Revolutionized’, then no. It had the hull painted blue earlier this year and had some of the soft furnishings re-done. However, all the ‘complete upgrades’ are on hold due to the pandemic’s impact on Celebrity’s bottom line. Thus, on the Reflection, there is no Retreat Sundeck or “new” Retreat lounge, although Michael’s Club is a dedicated Suite lounge. Currently, there is not a projected date to Revolutionize her.
  11. I am so happy to hear that others did not have our experience! Our cruise was in 2017 - 2018. It nearly turned us off of X for good. The older kids (college age, and even HS ‘older’ kids) were not the issue. There was a Huge thread following our cruise, so please know that I am not being overly dramatic.
  12. We have done it for 10 days before the cruise and on another cruise 10 days after. I don’t know what the limit is, though.
  13. I personally would pick March. We did a holiday trip from Buenos Aires to Santiago one year — 17 nights during December and January. Ports and weather were fantastic! BUT — and this is a very big BUT) the ship was crawling with hundreds of kids. In South America, that is their “summer” vacation, so the kids are not in school. (And X had a super sale in South America that if 2 adults paid a certain fare, all the kids could come for $100 per person.) To say the nearly 750 unsupervised marauders were disrespectful, loud, and annoying is the least of it. They kept putting the elevators out of order by smearing eggs or pizza all over the insides. They congregated on the stairs. The younger kids ran laps around the buffet (you know, where normal people carry hot food and beverages, mobility challenged people use canes or walkers, and staff carry heavy trays). They were not kept out of the solarium. I reported two kids in the casino: a 5-year old doing cartwheels in the aisle and a screaming toddler that was sitting on Mom’s lap while Mom was playing. That may have been the only cruise where we really got our money’s worth on our drink packages!
  14. Loved your review; thanks! I agree with you about ‘accommodations’ for embarking passengers at the port of Tampa — there are none!
  15. Just my two cents: I have always had success booking all of my requests with the first Specialty Restaurant person I find. No one Specialty Restaurant is better at doing this than another. In fact, they usually have a table set up outside the Oceanview Cafe (or sometimes, in the terminal pre-boarding, or very visibly present just past where you DO board). Whomever is going to handle the bookings will have a tablet / laptop, so they can do all the bookings at once. I have Never had difficulty in getting a very early reservation. YMMV.
  16. On the Edge in January, DH asked for a gin martini (not a specialty martini) at the Martini Bar and specifically said, “I have the Classic Package.” The bartender acknowledged that. My invoice showed a $7.20 charge for that transaction.
  17. For the Specialty Dining packages, you have to make reservations on board the ship. Find a maitre’ de immediately when you board. (If you are in a suite, you may be able to do some pre-booking with the shoreside concierge.)
  18. Why is the Celebrity website often down or not working? Same with the app. Why were passengers that had paid in full (or were past final payment) shortchanged when Celebrity announced — with no notice — that Room Service was no longer complimentary; the OV for dinner was cut by 75%; and the additional fee for one tiny lobster? Some OBC for ANY cruised booked prior to Jan. 1, 2023 would help avoid the ‘bait and switch’ feeling that many of us have. We booked and paid for one experience, and it appears that you are more interested in jerking around your loyal customers than you are in providing a quality product.
  19. We ate at Fine Cut on the Edge 3 times on an 11-night cruise earlier this year. Everything was Perfect all three times! Steak was excellent, tuna tartare was great, sides and salads were wonderful. Service was superb.
  20. Thank Goodness! We are on the 3/16 Summit and I was afraid that Luminae had ‘new’ hours. All of your answers to OP have put my mind at ease!!
  21. Great! I didn’t know that!! Thanks!
  22. Thanks for that. But if I just accepted a BCC offer with No upgrade would I still get CC points?
  23. Nuts and Kwok, Nuts, you posted earlier that on a fully comped cruise you still got Captain’s Club points. I think I have found that I get them when I ‘upgrade’ from a fully comped cruise (thus, I am paying Something for the cruise), but don’t remember getting them for the basic fully comped cruise. Can you guys (and anybody else) confirm the Captain’s Club points? Thanks in advance!
  24. It is NOT outside by lifeboats! After you are checked in, yo can watch two quick videos on your device of choice (Celebrity app on phone, tablet or on stateroom TV). One is about emergency signals and one is about how to put on your life jacket.) Then you will have to drop by your muster station to check in. Your muster station will be on your Sea Pass card and on your app. No life jackets required!
