  1. out of Charleston March 8-15. Going with my daughter and her friend. Gonna be a party time (at ports since they are 19 and almost 20)!! Turks (Margaritaville is a blast), HMC, and Nassau (here we come Senor Frogs and the new one something Tuesday).

Fat Tuesdays! Its a good time... senor frogs is a more "party environment" though so if you can only do one, choose senor!

  2. I have seen a couple of threads years ago on this. There was a temp at my job who said that they were cruising royal in March, getting off in Jamaica for a week and then getting back on the same ship and coming home. I am sure someone here knows the rules and regulations for it

  3. I wish they were heated! Like someone else pointed out, the hot tubs seem to be barely heated lol

They actually had one "hot" tub and one cold tub during our Glory cruise:confused:

We asked Guest Services and they said some people preferred the hot tub that way... WHAT:eek:

  4. Carnival does have a way of seeing when you are on line. When we started looking for our latest cruise , we would get random calls from carnival asking I'd we were ready to book.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Yes this happens to us often. But we are booked. Carnival had no record of any need for someone to call us. Let alone call us multiple times.

  5. I received two calls fro the 800-227-6482 yesterday and I didn't answer the calls. Good thing. Thanks OP for the warning!

This the #. If you call it back it goes to Carnivals line.

In response to an earlier post, no I didnt speak to anyone when they tried to call. I was in a meeting at work and when I called back it to me to a Carnival rep. I googled the # when I got home and the scam was mentioned on Carnivals funville site from someone who did answer.

  6. I am very concerned. We recently booked with Carnival for our Feb cruise. A 800 # kept calling my phone during work yesterday, but wasnt coming up as Miami. I googled the # and see that there seems to be some sort of scam going. They evidently use some technology to make the caller ID come up as any # they want (Carnival's) and are calling asking for CC info for sail & sign accounts. I would never fall for such a thing and I always use cash for our accounts but I am concerned as to how they pulled my # and knew I was sailing Carnival soon.

I called Carnival back today to confirm they didnt need any additional info from me and they said that there is no notes in my history. Anything like this happening or has happened to anyone else?

  7. Quote "burn cleaner, low sulfur fuel by 2015 within 200 miles of the Canadian coasts. " It's actual a joint US and Canada position. All ships coming within the 200 mile limit of North America have to burn this fuel. That also includes other commercial ships as well.

Yep.. they have pulled out of Norfolk as well. Although they didnt go year round there like Baltimore

  8. Hey Nicole!! This is what I got from my PVP reguarding documents needed to cruise:

Guests may apply for passports at more than 4500 passport-acceptance facilities nationwide. These include: passport agencies; courthouses; post offices; libraries.

    2) The Passport Card

The passport card cannot be used to travel by air outside the United States.

U.S. citizens may present the new, limited-use, wallet-size passport card. The passport card will only be valid for land and sea travel between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean region and Bermuda. The passport card will facilitate entry and expedite document processing at U.S land and sea ports-of-entry when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

It will otherwise carry the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book.

The card will have the same validity period as a passport book: 10 years for an adult; five years for children 15 and younger.

First-time applicants will pay $45 for adult cards and $35 for children.

    Renewal will cost $20.

    3) State Enhanced Driver's Licenses (EDL)

The EDL cannot be used to travel by air outside the United States.

Several states are working with the Department of Homeland Security to develop EDLs for U.S. citizens residing in their states. These documents will denote both citizenship and identity and will contain security features to help prevent counterfeiting and facilitate the entry process at land and sea ports of entry. The following states are issuing this type of WHTI-compliant document: Michigan; New York; Vermont; Washington.

    4)Certificate of U.S. Naturalization and a Government-Issued Photo I.D

The Certificate of U.S. Naturalization (form N-550 or N-570) is a document issued by the U.S. government (USCIS) as proof of a foreign born person who has obtained U.S. citizenship through naturalization (a legal process of obtaining a new nationality).

    Unacceptable Forms of Documentation

Copies of any of the WHTI-Compliant documents

Driver's License as the only proof

    A temporary driver’s license

    Voter's Registration Card

    Baptismal Papers

    U.S. Military I.D and a Photo I.D

A Dependent Military I.D that is issued to the spouse and children of Military Personnel is not acceptable

    U.S. Military Discharge Papers

    · No Record of Birth certificate: a certificate issued by the Department of Health and Vital Statistics showing that they have no records on this person

Hospital Certificate: hospital-Issued birth notice / live record of birth / announcement of birth from a hospital

    Hope this helps!!

This is good! It would be nice if all PVPs gave the guests correct info.

  9. Just a heads up in case you arent aware, all open looped cruises require a passport. You seem to be quite the seasoned cruiser so I am sure you guys have that covered but maybe someone else on your cruise will see this :)

I am so envious we looked at doing this cruise but I couldnt get that much off work during that time. The itinerary is great, although it would be nice if there were a couple of more ports.
