  1. Hi... it has the deli, grill etc... no steak house. basically all the "regular, free" options. I have seen a couple of reviews with older style DOD glasses. I dont believe the ships are getting the new ones until they are 2.0 .

We really enjoyed the ship and are excited to be on her again in a month:)

  2. We did a pub crawl in key west through carnival that was alot of fun. They had 5 stops and we had a ticket for a drink at each stop. If you are arranging it then i am not sure how it would work. I am sure the person wouldnt have to buy at each place. Maybe you could contact the bars ahead of time and work it out? If you wee planning to do it on board then i am plum out of ideas but i do recommend the KW pub crawl :)

  3. I cant answer all but I can help with some :)

We absolutely love cruising and when a deal comes up that is too good to pass up...well we don't! Tom and I (Patty) will be cruising out of NYC on Splendor at the end of January (2014) and have never been on Carnival, so we are hoping you experienced Carnival Cruisers can help us out. We have booked an inside Spa cabin. So Here are my questions, answer any and all you can. And THANK YOU for your help.

    1. What dining venues are included with the cruise fare? If the splendor has a steakhouse that would be the only place not included. On carnivals newer ship they have for a fee venues but I dont believe the splendor has been upgraded to 2.0 yet

    2. Do inside staterooms have a fridge?

    3. Are there any secret quiet spots you have found?

    4. Is a sports jacket with turtleneck permissible for MDR (for men)? Cause that is about as dressed up as Tom is going to get!!!!! yes that will pass

    5. Is there a soft drink package available for adults? yes, bottomless bubbles

    6. Is there a wine package offered? (e.g.: by 8 bottles get 20% off each) yes, i believe this is offered the first day. there is usually a table on the lido or atrium when you board

    7. Is there generally a MDR open for breakfast and/or lunch service? definitely on days at sea, never ate there on port days

8, When your cruise ticket says check-in is 1-3 pm is that in stone? (Cause what if we get to terminal earlier?) we always get there pretty early, atleast by 11

  4. To get a price reduction, you would have originally booked early saver then as you see discounts on your room category you need to fill out the early saver form online and submit (just type in search box on Carnival sight). We already have a sizable OBC due to the reductions.

You also can receive price reductions up to final payment on past guest, military, other rates. There are a couple of rates (super saver?) that do not allow you to receive price drops. As mentioned if you book Early Saver you qualify for price drops up until your sailing. Before final payment they will just adjust the balance owed otherwise you will receive on board credit. I have received price drops up until a couple days before the cruise.

This sailing was our first cruise and we loved it. I have a review in my signature. We would love to be able to do this itinerary again. My only recommendation is do a couple days pre or post cruise in San Juan if you can. We didnt and I regret not being able to see such a beautiful, historical place in detail.

  5. We are in quite the predicament! We are coming back from our cruise Feb 8 and have few flight options. We do not feel comfortable doing the 11 am flight and our only other options are late at night around 9 pm. We may be able to stay an extra night in Miami but it is not 100% so we are looking for a plan B.

Is there anywhere we can drop our luggage or carry ons to store them for the day? We will most likely use carnivals luggage express if it is an option on our sailing but if not we would like somewhere safe to store it.

We are looking to do a tour for a couple hours during the day but dont want to lug it around the rest of the time when we are in South Beach.

  6. We are in the same situation. There is an 11:05 flight on AA which we prefer, 11:40 on united which we dont care for but will do if necessary... next option 9 pm...UGH We cant stay an extra day so we are debating on which of the two airlines to choose from from our early flight. We have FTTF so we will self disembark but it still makes me nervous

  7. We had a similar experience. We were booked for a 4 something flight got there SUPER early because everyone made a huge deal about the SJ airport and we ended up sitting there for hourssssssss. Food in the airport was SOOOO expensive. We tried getting an earlier flight once there but everything was booked. Your flight time is perfect
