  1. Its a waste of money $50. We boarded 5 min after fttc and waited 30 min for our cabin to be ready, not worth $50. You can spend that money in other areas.

Boarding must have started LATE if you only waited 30 minutes for your cabin to be ready... they are in general ready at 130?

Maybe they need or want their luggage soon, maybe they dont want to wait to get off in a tender port. I sure will use the line at guest services, those lines can be a pain.

Its all relative, whats a "waste" to use could be great to someone else.

  2.

I don't think so; I believe that was replaced by the Taste Bar. It's largely a waste of space, IMHO.

I'm not a drinker so I'm the wrong person to ask, but one that I DID notice appeared to be a spherical plastic doohickey.

Josette? Any idea? (I realize you weren't too beholden to the ship's alcohol supplies yourself. :) )

Thanks- my BF will be very disappointed about the sushi.

  3. Thanks for the review. Perfect timing, since we're considering a Victory cruise, to different ports, and had some ship questions. My kids will enjoy finding the weird sculptures, but the mermaids are a bit much in the mdr, especially with a preteen DS.

Was it very clear that the aft pool allowed kids? I don't want someone to get upset with us. I don't suppose you saw the giant chess or shuffleboard courts, or where the preteens tended to hang out? :)

When we were on the Victory, chess was at the aft pool in between the pizza and the grill area.

Can you tell me what souvenir glasses the Victory was offering. I wasnt sure if they were completely fazed out of the DOD cups that were replaced with the 2.0 upgrades.

  4. We've always brought our own mask and snorkel but we rent the fins and vest.

Yes, you have to wear the vest but you don't have to inflate it. My husband dives down without any problems. I float even without a vest so I just stay on top. :)

Thanks for some reason I was thinking one of those vests you wear when fishing. Didnt even think about it :D

  5. Maybe someone can confirm this for us and future shore excursions takers.

I had the same experience waiting in the dreaded line for Coz with a SCUBA excursion booked. We had a late arrival due to weather the night before and our excursion ended up being cancelled (Thanks for the heads up Carnival since we got there at 2 pm) I wouldnt have stood in that long line.

Anywho someone on CC mentioned to me that if you have a Carnival excursion booked you can be taken to the front of the line so that you do not miss your excursion. I believe they said you go down to Guest Services.

  6. Great review Mike! I was on the Liberty several years ago and soon I will be on the Breeze.

Congrats to your daughter for being in the Legends show. One of our friends always auditions (and gets the part) of Frank. Our last cruise (Dream) he got the part of Frank and his daughter got the part of Britney. The show is even more fun when you know someone that is in it.

The Breeze looks like a really nice ship. I'm sure the 5 of us will enjoy it this January.

Hey, I am from Manassas too:eek: Small world, happy cruising!!!

  7. We are very interested in doing a cruise to Bermuda but am concerned about not having much to do. We love exploring the areas we visit but being in our mid 20s, we also enjoy hanging around at night on board.

I did see they may allow the casinos to be open at night, are there regualr events otherwise on board as well? Is there really nothing to do on shore? Where do the people who take a land vaca hang out?
  8. I didn't overlook that.. unfortunately, Atlantis OFTEN gives out misinformation about these types of things. They can tell you the price, but they can't tell you if there will be passes available when you get there. Once the daily limit is sold... they are gone.

I have heard of many people who have been not been able to get same day passes. It's a gamble.

If you want guaranteed entry, you need to either buy from the ship, book a room, or purchase thru www.majestictoursbahamas.com

I think one of the other resellers are now carrying them online, but I don't recall which one.

I agree regarding they give out wrong info. I called 2x and asked if there were any fees or deposits req'd for our stay- we were told no both times. We checked in and they said there was $150 PER DAY hold they needed to put on my card. Since we were only there 1 day it was only $150 but they would hold it for 30 days. I spoke to a manager because I had called twice and was told this was not the case. Regardless we had a great time at the resort and will go back, nothing bad to say other than the mis info we were given.

  9. First off do not book it through the cruise. Take a taxi it will cost $7.00. They will absolutely let you in and sell you a day pass especially if you are the only boat in port. You can call the Atlantis direct at their 800 number and they will give you information.

Taxis are $4 each way not $7

  10. Our last cruise was during Hurricane Sandy- I will NEVER take another cruise during hurricane season. My BF & I were lucky enough to not get sick, our cruise mates however were in their rooms for most of the cruise. There wasnt a moment we were rocking and rolling, and it continued with me for a couple weeks after we returned. I would wake up and swear I was onboard.
