Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We last cruised 12 years ago. We remember a very different experience. It is ok to note a change, it is not halbashing despite how the loyalists puff up. 😬
  2. I understand it is a steakhouse. I didnt say i didn't enjoy the food. 😬 and, yes, it was part of the hia package. It is promoted as fine dining, which I guess I think of as something that takes skill to prepare, not something my kids can cook up and we eat every week. I will eat mash taties till the cows come home. If its offered, I can't help myself! Hence, why I chose it. I know many are happy, I had hoped for a little bit of exceptional. 😆
  3. We had our meal last night on our embarkation day. Seriously. Fried onion rings and mashed spud with steak? Not my idea of fine dining thats for sure. 😂
  4. 😂 No. Dogs. 😬 hubby says a cruise is the only way to escape them.... 😱 me? I'd run the guantlet haha
  5. We left the farm 12 hours ago. On our way!! Hold that ship!! 😬😂
  6. I have dogs. They are my world. I believe all dogs serve as some form of therapy or another. But if I saw a dog in a stroller (pram in Australia 😛 ) on the ship, I would be ropeable and even more so in a dining area! It is a rare 'trigger' for me. Service Dogs, however, have my absolute admiration. ...and a pic of one of my troublemakers just cause...
  7. Oddly enough, this is something we have discussed recently for our upcoming cruise. Lightheartedly, but seriously, because we would both react in very different ways. Some interesting info here, thank you for sharing. It is a sensitive subject requiring compassion.
  8. I bet she had the time of her life ❤️
  9. Aussie here - challenge accepted! We are on holiday and as thus champagne (or sparkling wine whatev's) every morning for brekkie to start the day. Every day is a gift and a celebration and treated as amazing 🙂 We have always gone by this code. We purchased the HIA as a way of not having to be bothered by a bill at the end without looking too much at it but when we did think about it, by the time we work our way thru coffee's, cocktails, and lunch/dinner/after dinner drinks, I feel fairly sure it will be quite the value package for us - yay!
  10. My biggest fear. We purchased the HIA package so we would not have a bill at the end of our Cruise. 😏
  11. Thank you and yes we absolutely shall do 😁
  12. It was the stairs off the wharf, I believe. Very steep and narrow. It was taking over half an hour to unload each tender and it was not possible to get everyone onto the island and then off again. It was very hot (normal weather) and it seems many didn't cope. Considering the very, very upset passengers and tour operators, I was surprised not to read it on here.
  13. There was quite the discussion elsewhere about a westerdam cruise to Komodo island a few days ago. Because of problems with the stairs and people taking too long to get down them, all private excursions were cancelled on the day.
  14. For an Aussie the HIA has gone from $75 to $85 per day. We purchased it so that we would not have a bill at the end of our cruise. We are generous drinkers whilst on holidays so it represented pretty good value with the add-ons. However, I recall seeing on another page recently a picture of a new current drinks menu for the HIA with most increases to $12, but I can't find it now. I would be peeved if that is the case.
  15. Cruising is the place my heels get an outing 😁 only work boots and wellies on the farm ..
