  1. It works just fine to use the app. My guess is they are only keeping that email option for a length of time to keep people happy. The app works, it’s quick and efficient and is the future. People don't generally wait until the last week or so to submit for the OBC, unless they didn’t know about it, anyways. It’s still less than a week for it to show up. That’s plenty of time for most people. I did not submit anything other than what they asked for, and gave no access to my financial accounts. I have read many posts where people are anxious and apply for the OBC more than a year early. I have no idea why they were accepting that, and maybe this is a new way to make sure people are actually holding the shares.
  2. Yep..don’t leave anything behind. I hope you enjoy your purchase. Too bad about the excursion, though.
  3. Yes, you are now able to receive both benefits. Princess backtracked on the new policy they tried to implement.
  4. I would not chance it. I now have read several posts where people were not notified that it had not been accepted via fax, so people were trying to sort it out once onboard. It is really quick to submit the required information through Stockperks.
  5. It took me a second to get the joke… but at least with the glass blowing, you will have something to take home.
  6. I find your post very interesting. it was super easy to submit, and the only thing we sent them, was the name of the brokerage, our names and that we had 100 shares. I left the date on it, as well. I do find it interesting, that you can cut and paste all you want, as they want the information on one page only. It worked, though. We got the second email to go back to their site, and put in our booking number and names and date of cruise. That was it… I don’t really like the new way, but it was not hard to do.
  7. So, if you pay the higher price, do they assist you so it at least comes out a bit like the finished pieces on display that you choose from? Or, could you end up with a 200.00 blob of glass?
  8. We had a good day, and just used the public bus everywhere as we weren’t in any hurry. After Pearl Harbour, we back to the ship, had lunch and then again went by bus down to the beach. It was really easy and cheap… I had never seen a public bathroom that had no door on the stall. It creeped me out for sure. I guess they have a bit of an issue there and think that’s the best way to avoid problems in them. We ended up just having a very late dinner at the buffet. There were lots of restaurants around the area, though. We decided not to do a Luau as it was just too pricey for us, with the exchange rate from Canadian dollar and there was just two of us. It would have been approximately 600 CAD including transportation, to get decent seats at one of the popular ones. We also had never been to Hawaii before and just didn’t feel comfortable renting a car and chancing getting lost.
  9. Hi, I really think that’s pushing it. I checked the port schedule and the Crown is the only ship there that day, which helps. The arrival time is 6:00 am. but, you truly never know what time you will be able to get off. I just tried a quick Uber search right now, and it was showing about a 7 minute wait from Pier 2B. You could prebook one, too. I actually didn’t feel there were many available transportation options when we were there in mid April. We walked off the ship about 8:00 am to get a public bus to Pearl Harbour for 10:00 am. tour. I would check the Princess excursion page just to see what the earliest time is that one of their excursions starts, and use that as a guideline. Those people do get off first, as well as anyone else that has priority that day. It is 8:30 am right now in BC. If you don’t have to make a rush decision, I would check daily on the Uber or any other car share option app. around the time I needed to get off. You also don’t say how far away you are going, which of course, if it was more than a few minutes, you wouldn’t have much wiggle room.
  10. As I understand it, you are no longer allowed to leave it with the Porter. You have to Carry it on yourself.
  11. It was our least favourite time to go. My husband says the water was too cold, I thought it was fine. Yes, we hit a bit of rain, too. Overall it was good, though. He just prefers April because it’s his birthday month. This time, we’re doing a month from late Feb-late March to those wonderful Caribbean waters, so I think we’ll be ok.
  12. I’m wondering if by chance anyone took photos of those particular cabins. I have one booked for Feb. 2024 and would like to see inside as they do seem to be larger by looking at the deck plan.
  13. It was 10.00 pp round trip in April 2022. I see there’s an increase now to 15.00 pp, but I would think it’s still for a round trip.
  14. They might not be able to do anything, but I am pretty sure I’ve read posts before about people handing them in on the ship with some success. That whole new policy was ridiculous, so I would still give it a try.
  15. I think I would head right back to guest services with the proof of your shareholders statement and ask them to add the appropriate credit.
  16. Thanks for the update. I hope your cruise gets better tomorrow. I am really glad you are still having fun. As long as there is decent food, I don’t care too much about the rest of it. We’re booked on her in March.
  17. Somehow I had not considered walking with all our luggage, but of course you are right.
  18. Yes, I agree. I probably won’t ever get to cruise in a full suite, but I don’t understand the attraction of having to make an extra stop if you park a car. It means moving your luggage twice. My least favourite part of a travel day. I guess if you just take an Uber or other public transportation straight there, it might be worth it. You also wouldn’t book the Princess transfer, unless it makes an out stop there.
  19. There are pictures of Majestic E405. Here’s some from the Sky. E405. All were found on Cruise deck plans. I hope this helps.
  20. I don’t believe you will be able to get off the ship, once you check in.
  21. I may have not worded that correctly. What I meant was… people can use their own cash for extra tips, as the daily amount charged to your folio can be “paid” with OBC. So, it feels like I have extra money to give. Of course, that’s for those of us that don’t purchase any kind of bundled cruise package.
  22. Here’s the part that sounds confusing to me. The part that says it forms part of their compensation- separate from bonuses. To me… that sounds like their basic wage. I just pre pay them, or use our OBC, once onboard. I would never consider not paying them. It’s easy to add extra cash tips, since it feels “free” if it’s paid through credits. When Princess removes that option, it will then become a very interesting topic on these boards. Here’s their information, copied directly from the website. All of the Crew Appreciation and Service Charge payments made by all guests on all ships in our fleet are pooled, net of credit card transaction fees. The pooled funds are distributed throughout the year in the form of compensation, including bonuses, to crewmembers fleetwide who interact directly with guests and/or behind the scenes throughout every cruise, including those in the Bar, Dining, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Galley and Onboard Revenue areas.
  23. Thanks so much. I understand that’s how it used to work but doesn’t seem to be the case now. I’m just wondering when they quietly let that printed policy go. Of course, everyone should purchase their own travel/medical insurance, but at least the FCC was something, for those that didn’t.
