  1. Nice that Celebrity allows check in online without taking that security photo. Not all cruise lines allow that.
  2. We had a private tour with about 12 others. We were dropped off near the ticket office. Unless you were royalty, I doubt there is a way to get to the top without walking. Be careful! Even in dry weather, some stones have been so worn down that they are like ice. My DH, who has COPD, paced himself and was successful.
  3. BTW, MSC, as an Italian cruiseline really needs to work on their pasta. I observed a diner at a different table complain to the server about their spaghetti. She could lift the entire clump easily just using her fork. It was hard and all stuck together. They also need to use more sauce on their pastas. We asked for a small bowl to add to ours and our server seemed confused and ignored the request.
  4. The Seashore may vary, offering two or three shows depending on the total number of passengers. We had two shows each evening at 35 mins. Our sailing was what I consider the very beginning of spring break with increasing numbers of passengers. You can reserve the show in the late evening for the next day. I believe they wait until after the final show to put reservations on line. The Yacht club has designated, but not reserved seating. At the beginning of the show, the YC ushers take down the ropes and allow anyone to sit amongst the YC folks.
  5. Have to say I feel a bit sorry for the singers and dancers. They performed five out of seven nights. Esp the dancer with the short hair who was fabulous and featured much more than the others.
  6. That was my experience also. I was the only one of the four traveling together who took the selfie. You are correct that they will retake the photo at the port. Why go through this online in the first place...RRR MSC's poor technology. In reality, you can go whenever you wish to the port. Three years in a row (last time March 3) and no one asked to see the time on the docs. As someone else reported, the Seashore's muster drill is insane, with EVERYONE required to watch the video at the exact same time, call on the phone, and then run down to your muster station to verify. The crowds were insane and dangerous on the stairs as the elevators were locked/controlled. MSC needs to observe how other lines calmly stagger the muster throughout the day.
  7. I was on the MSC Seashore right before this one. Mine was a seven day to the Western Carib. There were only TWO theatre shows and they were packed and "sold out" within hours. Perhaps they went to three shows from now on or maybe only for the shorter cruises? You could register for them in the evening before.
  8. We had different boarding times: 1:30 and 3:00 PM. We arrived around 10:30 and NO ONE asked to see the confirmation. Doing so would mean extra personnel which means extra costs for MSC.
  9. It was supposed to be amazing with a special surprise. Here is what it really was. A video of women employees on MSC, about 40 msc female employees lining the staircases in the Atrium, followed by the senior officers toasting them with champagne. Did the workers get a glass or some small gift? No they did not. They got applause and then went back to their jobs and likely had to make up for lost productivity. What a waste of everyone's time.
  10. I have been on only one Carnival cruise. It was an 8 day eastern Caribbean. Actually, everyone was well behaved but it past after Thanksgiving which produces a calm crowd.
  11. If you are Protestant and capable of conducting a service, contact the CD as soon as you get onboard. We have had music crew play the piano, sing, and one even gave a Sunday message! We have been part of a Bible study that met onboard on sea days.
  12. No, but it seems most cruise lines don't concern themselves with religious services. They may bring on a priest. I would call and ask but doubt they will you
  13. I didn't see a priest on our only two Celebrity cruises. I have seen a priest on HAL, NCL, and Royal. Sabbath services are self led. Protestants have to find their own leaders. We held a church service on board a few years ago. On a transatlantic.
  14. You can't bring irons. Hair styling devices are okay. Never had a problem. Put it in checked.
  15. Ask the cabin attendant for more hangers. I bring post it notes and leave requests on the mirror or bed.
  16. No bag, just a tiny msc pin. No bath robes, slippers either. Seashore is a ship where you can't generalize. Breakfast and lunch food in buffet very good. Food in dinner MDR, meh. Lunch meals very good. Theater entertainment excellent. In lounges spotty. Terrible featured singers in Cabernet lounge. Band there excellent. Our server and room attendant very disappointing. Customer service very good...
  17. I will be doing both when we get home.
  18. On my way off an MSC cruise just today. Msc theater was much better and the food quality on Silhouette was like Msc. The Constellation was a far superior experience.
  19. I want to extend my concern for the OP. We were on the Silhouette in January, our second Celebrity cruise. The overall experience made me doubt the Celebrity experience. Mediocre.
  20. In Europe it is destination. In Caribbean it is for the ship although eastern and southern islands are superior.
  21. We just finished a cruise on Seashore today. We are diamond and getting perks required some reminders. Our steward took no responsibility for our perks. Never got robes and slippers. The crew on this ship was overall the weakest we have ever seen . Worst steward and MDR server in our 26 cruise experience. Hope msc sees this.
  22. I was on an MSC ship that enforced the chair hog rule. Most appreciated it but it produced many angry passengers who created an unpleasant experience for everyone. They went around mad all the time. If course, the ship was severely overbooked and people had to resort to laying on their towels on the pool decks. First fight I ever saw on a ship
  23. Been on 8+ msc cruises and this is the first with English only announcements! Seashore out of Port Canaveral. It might be different out of Miami or maybe it's a new policy. We had 8 different languages out of Rome on the Grandiosa pre pandemic with Mandarin And Cantonese added to the list.
  24. Ours was at 3:00. Arrived at 10. No one asked or cared.
