I also like the Fantasy Class ships. My first was a 7 day Inspiration cruise out of Tampa in 2003. Then I have done 5 day cruises on Ecstasy, Paradise and Elation out of various Florida ports. All have been great cruises. My next will be on the newly updated Fascination next month for a 7 day cruise out of San Juan. I miss the steakhouse when on the Fantasy Class ships but overall I enjoy the smaller ships. I look forward to the updates on Fascination. The new bars and eateries will certainly enhance the cruise experience on these smaller ships. Since Carnival has been updating these Fantasy class ships then they will be around a while. Alright by me.

Just be aware that the Past Guest Offer rate is really Early Saver but with a $50 OBC but the depost is non-refundable but can be used for future bookings within 2 years of cancellation less a $50 fee.
I checked with a Carnival phone agent and she could not see a regular refundable Past Guest rate. So just be aware what you are actually booking because the current Past Guest Offer is not a regular Past Guest rate that we are use to seeing.

When looking up rates, I see the Past Guest rate is showing as non-refundable with a $50 fee similar to a regular Early Saver but OBC is offered. Has anyone booked a regular refundable Past Guest rate yet? I am not comfortable booking a non-refundable rate this far out.

Great news. I live in NY and I was hoping to eventually do a Long Beach cruise. I look forward to booking this in 2020 since I am already booked in 2019. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, San Juan is a US territory and has the same closed loop rules in place.
Thanks for the information.

I have had it changed once in 13 cruises without prior notice. It worked out for me from an inside and changed to an ocean view in a handicap cabin which I did not require.
-
Is San Juan the same rules as US states when it comes to closed loop cruises? I can't find anything official on the web when it comes to San Juan.

Not a good idea to ever pack valuables in checked luggage. It is left unattended at various times including when they leave it at your cabin door.

In the past I have booked my next cruise while on board the current one. With the reduced $50 OBC and having to book Early Saver that , I won't be booking while on board unless Carnival is offering additional OBC or special fare.
My next cruise will be in April. It will be strange to not book a future cruise while on board. I'll see what happens.

I see Diet Coke, Diet Sprite and Coke Zero on the menu but does anyone know if Carnival had diet tonic water?

I'm cruising solo, and while i don't mind eating at the buffet, deli or other places, I can't see eating at the steak house alone. So unless I find people to spend time with, I'm going to miss out on a great dinner apparently
Solo in the steakhouse is great. You can strike up conversations with the wait staff and the host/hostess and they make you feel right at home. You can also move the meal along at your pace so it won't take the 2 plus hours it may last if you were with a group of people. You should definitely go and enjoy the steakhouse.

The porters at the cruise port that take your luggage always offer to staple my paper luggage tag to my bag. This has happened on all of my 13 cruises. You will be fine.

My duplicate cruise was on Paradise out of Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. These are 2 of my favorite ports and I do like the Fantasy class ships on the shorter cruises. Most likely I will cruise this again at some point.

Been there three times and it is the best. You will have a great time and nothing to worry about.

I was there once and had a great time and a relaxing day at the beach. Enjoy it.

I have won a bottle of bubbly and some nice costume jewelry bracelet that my niece liked.

There are a few bars right at the pier. They can also take a quick cab ride or 20 minute walk to down town for more options of bars, restaurants and shops. I would go down town. More fun than the pier area.

My pick is Half Moon Cay.
My cruise made it there the first time but the second cruise we diverted to Key West instead. Key West was a great replacement but I really missed the beach day at HMC.

Instead of the vanilla ice cream, I have my chocolate melting cake with strawberry ice cream or the butter pecan. Not much of a twist but good.
-
I purchased a good one from the photo shop on board. Nice quality.

A gin dirty martini with lots of olives. Now that is a real martini.
I usually don't go for sweet drinks but I also like the pineapple chipotle martini I had at the martini tasting.
-
Guys Burgers is my first choice. I am usually starving by the time I board so that sure hits the spot with a beer on tap.

i'm thinking just give them a flight number of same day.
anyone have any problems with ccl
I have done it this way a few time without a problem.

Is it only available on the first day?
I have had the key lime pie on Lido later in the cruise so look out for it. It is very good.

My first go to item is the apple crumb cake at the Lido lunch buffet on embarkation day.

Why wouldn't a regular cup of coffee be on the menu? How much is a regular cup of coffee?
