  1. Well here is the scoop. Spoke to shore excursions 3 times finally right info. Can only have six in cabana. System has not been setup like Stirup Caye to add extra people for 25 ea. You can only hold with shore/ex 50 perk everyone else pay up front. It is not a private island so pay for food and beverage while there. We have 8 in our party so it was a no go. Disappointing.

I am disappointed too CRAustin! I thought NCL has pegged Harvest Caye one of their private islands and the food and drink would be covered. Especially for those with UDP, or whatever we are calling it now....lol.

  2. MandyMommyof2,

Did you do the excursion which takes the ferry & then open-air transport to the baths, or did you do the baths/snorkel excursion (which appears to eliminate the bus ride and be on an open-air boat over)? How long was the boat ride (looks like maybe half hour or so each way)?

Hey KurtMo! we did the ferry over and then we sent to the open air buses/trucks. The boat ride over was about 45 minutes each way. I forgot to mention we rode inside on the way over, they showed a cartoon on the tv. Being outside may have helped the sickness part. Once we were there, we unloaded and got into the open trucks. Ours was a converted Ford F 350. The ride to the entrance of the Baths was about 20 minutes. Hope I helped you a little.
  3. we did the Baths tour and loved it!! It's gorgeous there! You two shouldn't have a problem with the climbing and walking. The ride over did make us all three seasick, but this subsided quick. On the way back we opted to ride up top on the boat, no sickness but at a speed of almost zero, we all were scorching hot!! I would love to do The Rebel Yell if we ever make it back to Tortola though!

  4. We always seem Port side, just out of habit....lol. My TA did say that on the Western itinerary the port side would offer fabulous views. I do not know that to be 100% true though. It's our first time sailing this itinerary. I read a few weeks back theres nothing really spectacular to see view wise, so I'm unsure. I would love to hear from someone who has been this route. :)

  5. Booked mine for the Jade on 4/14. Called the shorex number to use the $50 shorex credit and didnt have to prepay so i could pay for it using my OBC. Don't book online or you don't utilize the Shorex credit or any OBC you may have.
Tmilak, thank you for posting that!! I was unsure how OBC worked. This explained it perfectly for me, lol. I just booked a cabana for our July cruise.
  6. Probably the #1 concern should be proximity to loud venues. Make sure you have enough distance between your room and spots like the Brew House and 5 O'Clock Somewhere.

As far as sight-seeing, if you're on the eastern Caribbean itinerary, the port side offers quite the "island show" when leaving Tortola.

I had not thought about checking the venues! Thanks for that tip! I'll do that ASAP. We had the port side last year on the Getaway, and that "island show" is definetly something to see! Thanks so much for your suggestions!

  7. I have our procures room booked at the Hilton Garden Inn West. The price was great! We picked there due to the price, courtesy shuttle from the airport and the ability of setting up for around $12pp shuttle to the port. I always look at trip advisor too!

  8. Yes, I agree with others. Let your room steward know you would like an iron and he/she can get you one to use for a few hours. I have done this in the past up until last year. I purchased from wall-mart one of the travel steamers. It worked like a charm. Very portable and did the job great. I think I spent maybe $15 on it. It will now go on all our cruises with us :)
