  1. Yes living in Miami is definitely nice when you love cruising like we do!! Thank you for following along!! Where is the Getaway going this summer? We are doing Alaska possibly on the pearl and then hopefully (fingers crossed) the Harmony of the Seas! Thank you for following:):)

We are wanting to do Alaska!! The airfare was crazy for us 4 when I checked!! It's definetly on our list. The itinerary for the Getaway is to Roatan, Bay Islands, Harvest Caye Belize , Costa Maya Mexico, Cozumel Mexico. All new places for us :) I looked on RCCL this morning. That would be a new one for us! Our previous are Disney and NCL.

  2. You will have a great time! We are big Legally Blonde fans, and this did not disappoint. Like others have said, make your reservations ahead of time. Seating is not reserved, but on first come basis. The Haven guests do have their own roped off section. No better seats in my opinion though :) Make sure to get you a drink from the bar there in the theater. They will also have servers walking around taking drink orders.

  3. I can't wait to hear more! We love the Getaway!! Just like you, as soon as we came home from our first time on her, we rebooked for next summer. Same cabin and all!! :D The staff was exceptional to us too!! I wanted to book a cruise through Thanksgiving, you may have very well persuaded me ;) We ate so much while we were on the ship! Some people bar hop....well we restaurant hop :cool: I do agree with you on the desserts! Other than the crepes (I ate 1 or more everyday) I didn't find anything that satisfied my sweet tooth. Hope you are feeling better!!!

  4. So excited for your first cruise on the Getaway!! We did not go hungry during our cruise on her. My family and I are very bland eaters. Not adventurous....lol. We found all the complimentary dining to be excellent. The Garden Buffet was delicious, and buffets are not something you can say that about all the time. Food was always hot and fresh with way too many choices. Breakfast was always there for us!! Try a crepe at the crepe station. My favorite was nutella, strawberry, and whipped topping. At O'Shennans we loved the wings and fries. I had a tasty chicken sandwich in there too. The prime rib was good the night we got it there too! Gosh, I'm sorry I could go on and on :D

  5. Why does being linked help with dining? Can't one person just make a reservation for both parties?

Hi Moby!! :) from my understanding, you can only make reservations for the number of persons in your cabin. Now I may be wrong on this one, but this is how the NCL rep explained it to me. She said I'm going to link your reservations so things such as making dinner reservations will be easier and to insure all of your family can eat together.

  6. Nope. You can't see it online. It really just helps the reservation people switch between reservations easier and maybe some other things. Some have speculated it helps keep guarantee bookings together.

This is 100% accurate :) Only thing is to help with securing dining and show reservations. When my family along with my parents sailed this past summer, ours was linked and the dining was the only beneficial thing.

  7. The only problem I ran into using a cruise next deposit was when I went to pay a payment for our cruise next summer. It would only allow me to pay $1,000 as a payment and was calling this the deposit. Which was strange because you could see on my account that the $250 had been used as our deposit. I just kinda blowed it off and meant to call them. Thanks for the reminder :)

  8. I would say go for it!! We always have a balcony on our cruises. We utilize it as part of our room space. It's always nice to have your morning coffee out there or even drinks in the evenings. Sure the balcony may not be huge, but I always feel like it's worth it. Now the next person will probably tell you no, and it is a matter of personal preference :) As far as room size, I think they may be around the same size of square footage. Surprise him....go for it!

  9. Wow! Thanks so much for your live review!! I feel like I have relived our cruise this past July. We fell in love with the Getaway, everything about her! The itinerary wasn't our favorite, but we had one of the best family vacations we have ever had. One thing I regret not doing is eating at Cagney's. This is on my list for next year. We got back in early July and with in one week, had rebooked the Getaway for July 2016. It's her new route too!! Our room steward was Ryan. By far the best room attendant we have ever had take care of us. He told us he was moving to the Escape. Thanks again for your review!!!

  10. I sure would honeymoon on the Getaway!!! Of course, others will be with you, but I'd think you'd have a wonderful time!! On our Getaway cruise two months ago there were many honeymooners. The only problem the couple we chatted with quite a bit had was none to take their pictures.....lol. As others have said, maybe splurge for the Haven or a suite if possible. I would think a spa suite would be a nice touch. Very quite up on that end. I LOVE the 14th floor of the Getaway. Very convenient location! I love that itinerary! In fact I have it booked for my family for our vacation next summer. Congratulations!

  11. Yes, they have irons they will let you use for a few hours. Just ask your room steward. I iron everything!!! This time around I bought one of the travel steamers from Walmart.com and it worked perfect!!! There was no problems with it. Ryan (our steward) would even wrap the cord up and put it back on the shelf in the bathroom when I left it out.

  12. :) Loving your review of the Getaway!! We sailed on her in July and had the best time!!! I have rebooked us again for next summer on the new route. I'm very excited about that!! We never made it into the Ice Bar :( Looks like you had a blast!! We loved The Baths. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We booked through NCL though. I was scared to venture out on our own. I couldn't find much info on it. I'm proud of you for deciding to do it on your own. Your inside room looked pretty roomy. Can't wait to read the rest!!
