  1. I will be on the VALOR on 6/2/13. We are staying in Old san Juan the night before then set sail that Saturday. We also will be getting married at our first stop in Magens Bay!!! then back to the ship to celebrate!!! Plan on wearing my dres to dinner that night. It will only be my fiance' and I on the cruise so might as well celebrate with our fellow cruisers! :) We are trying to figure out how to keep the bar bill down on the ship considering we had to pay a nice penny for the wedding:) Any tips would be much appreciated! I enjoy reading your reviews!!!

CW, haven't seen you around the roll call lately. We're planning on an informal meet and greet at the Prometheus Aft Pool at 7PM on embarkation day June 2nd. Wanted to be sure you knew about it. :)

  2. This week my problem wasn't plateau, but overeating. I just couldn't seem to feel full and kept finding things to eat. I tracked it all going way over my points. I'm up 2 pounds and trying not to give myself a bad time as that will only cause more of the same.

I think I've got a handle on things but only time will tell.

  3. I had a rough two days. I just kept picking. Doesn't happen often but did it two days in a row. I still tracked everything though so I know exactly what I did. This happens when I've been good for a long time with no loss. I kind of lose the thread and get distracted. Here's hoping I'm done with that and can be back on program.
  4. We sailed on the Pride because we could drive to the port (10 hours). We really like the Pride. It's easy to get around. Looking at the deck plan for the Valor, for some decks you need to go to a different deck to go fore or aft then back up or down to where you want to go. Seems very inconvenient to me. We'll see how it goes.

This was the most reasonably priced 7 day trip (with Carnival) around that time of year plus it goes to places we've never been before. Not looking forward to flying though. It's been a long time since I've flown. Last time was in 2001 in July coming home from adopting our daughter in Moscow. I was out checking how much suitcases weigh as mine, while fine for driving, is probably way too heavy to take on a flight. So need to buy a new, lighter one.

I weigh every day. It keeps me in check. I use "weight commander" to keep track of my daily weights so I can see the pattern and not worry about it.

  5. Last cruise our meet and greet was held together by another lady and myself. We both booked a year and a half before cruise date. We just talked about day to day life for months before we finally got some other people onto the roll call. In the end, we did have enough for two meet and greets, so that was good. But we're only 82 days away and hardly anyone is on there. So I wonder...

  6. We cruise June 2 from San Juan. Our roll call goes days with no one posting either. So, as I said, I post a picture of the number of days till we cruise just to keep the thread from getting buried.

Hopefully the plateau will break soon. It's hard enough, sometimes, keeping within points when you are losing, but when you have nothing to show for your hard work, it's really depressing. I started around June 2nd last year and have only lost 23 since then. Of course that's better than gaining 23! But still...

  7. WI this week I was the same. Colonoscopy went well, but even with not eating for a day I didn't lose any weight! I Kind of wish we were all on the same cruise, as I've gotten to know some of you We leave the beginning of June but our roll call is pretty dead. I keep it alive by posting how many days till we sail every day.

  8. Yeah, I'm not thrilled about it either! But it's been five years so time for another. DH did his last week. Well if it breaks the plateau it will definitely be worth it :). Just turned 58 so have got to keep up with all the check ups.

I'll be missing my yogurt and brownies today. I have a lovely bowl of jello in the fridge jelling. Yum...

  9. I eat a lot of Greek Yogurt also. I get the Dannon Light and Fit. It's so filling and creamy. Well I won't have to worry about that for a day thought. Going for a colonoscopy tomorrow at 11 so no solid food for me until after it's over. It's tea and jello and clear broth until then. Hey, maybe this could break my plateau?

  10. My problem is more that I have hit a plateau. I am eating within my points/calories and yet not losing. The last time this happened I slowly got off track and gained back 60 of the 88 pounds I lost. I am determined not to let that happen again, but so far the plateau has been since Christmas, so two months. I remember being told on WW that if you hang in long enough, it will break and you will start losing again. I am just worried about going on this cruise in June if it hasn't broken by then. I want to enjoy the food (that's part of the fun!) but not gain (a lot) on the cruise. I just don't want a major setback.

  11. Turning 50 was a big thing for me, but now I'm approaching 60 I'd be happy to turn 50 again! :) Yes, you can not have a "schedule" to keep with weight loss. You can "hope" to lose a certain amount by a certain date, but you can not obsess over it or you will sabatage yourself when it doesn't happen. I'm just happy I'm not gaining! Staying the same is progress in a way, too.

  12. Well yesterday was my birthday and I ate too much. DH and I went to lunch at a new restaurant in town. Had chicken breast sandwich which wouldn't have been too bad except they grilled the sandwich (greasy bread) and had fries. Then DH had also gone and bought a cake and ice cream and snickerdoodles and I had some of everything. Thankfully only up one pound this morning so not too much of a set back. But I refuse to ignore special occasions and be a martyr. I enjoyed every bite. Now it's time to get back with it.

  13. WI tomorrow and I just don't know. I've stayed within points all week, but don't think I've lost anything. Of course it's always depressing having a week like this especially after you watch The Biggest Loser and they lose 10 pounds in a week. Of course I know they exercise their butts off too, but still.

I bought a Richard Simmon's "Sweating to the Oldies" DVD and hope to get into a routine of doing that. Maybe that will shift some weight and get me off this plateau.

  14. Have any of you ever had a 2 pound gain and NEVER CHEATED AT ALL??!! :( I swear I have not gone over on my points' date=' have not gone into my extra points, and still go to the gym 4 times a week. I was very pleased with my progress, and then BAM! This morning was a huge shock.[/size']

I'm post-menopausal, so its not "that time". And I know this is going to be a long process, but I'm still feeling a bit down about it!

Yes, have had this happen before. Or if you ever watch The Biggest Loser, where they exercise 8 hours a day and sometimes someone will have a gain instead of a loss. Sometimes your body just wants to hang on to that fat with all it's might.
