  1. Yes, the concierge will escort you to the dedicated seats. Also, whereas the "space ratio" on both ships is 36, you get ~200 suites on Beyond versus ~130 Heaven suites on Joy if I counted correctly
  2. OK. The itinerary on Joy is much better, you are a single ship in Roatan and Belize. You are not going to be in Haven proper, but a short elevator ride will get you there. I believe a family villa will become available closer to the sailing date, and the price differential would be relatively small, so that you have a good chance to snag a really great suite for your family at a reasonable price. There are often specials in the Haven restaurant (specials = new mains that are not on the menu) which could justify dining there over, say five evenings. At the same time, it is never as crowded as Luminae. For your daughter, there is a higher chance to make friends in the Haven than in the Retreat, if she wants to of course. Entertainment of Joy could also be much better than on Beyond, just look at their shows. Bottom line, I would not hesitate to book Joy's Haven
  3. You are considering Joy sailing on April 8-15, correct? If so, what particular suite do you have in mind? What I see as available are a variety of penthouse suites, none of which are particularly large
  4. Also, if this is important to you, with a higher suite on Oceania, you can board at 11 am and your cabin is ready at this time (2 pm+ on Azamara). You can make reservations for their specialty restaurants online and well before most other pax (only after boarding on Azamara that again starts at 2 pm for everyone).
  5. Oceania suite would offer you a jacuzzi on the balcony, something you would appreciate on the TA cruise.
  6. Thank you very much for the very thorough yet not overwhelmed with photos review. May I ask you a question? Why did not you use room service for breakfast in the CW suite?
  7. If you go down the main page on Cruise Critic, you will see a long list of the members who happen to have a birthday today. It turns out that vast majority from this list over any given day in a year, are members with 0 posts. To me, this means that the tiny fraction of members with >0 posts is not a representative sample of the CC member population. Not to mention that the CC community itself is a tiny fraction of people who cruise, and may or may not be representative of the general "cruise" population..
  8. Thanks @BigMac1953 for clarification. I thought I could see a railing on the ceiling along the bedroom area on some videos, but apparently I was wrong.. Could you please also advise how Cabin 8178 (video available on YouTube) differs from its neighbours 8176/8181? In particular - Shower in 8176/8181 - is there a seat like in 8178's shower? - Is there a window in the bathroom? - Is the balcony's door in the bedroom area? Thank you in advance.
  9. Trying to digest piles of information on a new for me forum... I will appreciate an advice whether any particular aft-located Q5 or Q6 has a curtain separating the bedroom from the living room on Queen Victoria. It appears from my search that 5194, 8176, 8178, and 8181 would have this curtain - is this correct? How about 5192, 5194, 4190, 4191, and 4192? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hope to get an input from those who sailed Ovation or Encore.. I am considering an Ovation voyage in March 2024 that calls to three tender ports in the Caribbean, all of which are very tempting. The challenge is that DW has back problems and is able to make a few stairs only. She walks OK on flat surfaces and swims very well. I called Seabourn's accessibility department that then redirected me to a shorex department. Bottom line, I was told that Ovation has a special lift for tendering on the starboard side only, whereas the tendering can occur on either side. So, how many stairs would tendering imply? The same question is about the access to ship's Marina - it appears there is an elevator to get to Marina's level, but are there stairs to get to the water? Thanks in advance!
  11. Wow, this is certainly not what I am looking forward to. I wonder if this is different if you stay in a suite.
  12. Given that not all people are likely to add to the existing discussions, let us see for the anonymous poll can reveal

    Masks off!

Is it a last bit of "back to normal"? I then have a really hard time understanding why they do not start embarkation until 2 pm.
  14. I hoped this is the thing from the past 😞 Could you please tell more? Are they ubiquitous yet again?
  15. I would strongly advise to make no attempt to login then, as you are essentially providing your credentials - to whom?
  16. Thank you very much for a detailed comparison. I would add a couple of observations 1) I think you get a coffee machine on Cunard QG whereas no one is offered in Celebrity suites - you need to rely on room service 2) If you have some mobility limitations, many areas on Edge class are poorly accessible. The pool, for example will need to have a special lift, whereas on the Cunard the pool seems to have a gradual entry..
  17. I would mix some orange juice and vinegar, and then guess what😉
  18. This probably implies that the Air program will change, too
  19. try choiceair.com and this site would redirect you to ~cruisingpower that works for Azamara
  20. I heard that many Americans want to learn about the motherland of their ancestors
  21. Sorry, perhaps I misunderstood something but it looks like the "normal" embarkation time now is ~2 pm and later. Is it the new normal because of the pandemic? I think ~ few years ago embarkation would start at 11am-12pm, and it still this way on some larger cruise lines. What do people do if they have an early flight in or have to check out from a hotel before the embarkation?
  22. I see. Do you think any of those starboard S3 is better than the others in terms of balcony privacy? Thanks again!
