  1. Just because something you enjoy is not offered on board does not mean you cannot make it yourself. Behold! The ice cream float. Directions: Lido Bar- request a chilled beer mug, an unopened can of Coke & a straw. Dessert bar- request three scoops of ice cream to be placed in said chilled mug. Find a chair, relax and enjoy. (repeat as needed.)
  2. What type/brand of Gouda are you looking at buying? We have a local cheese/meat distributor in the Seattle area where I've bought my 22lb. wheels of Rembrandt extra age Gouda. You might check your local area. Cheaper than having to go to Aruba and rolling that wheel around all day. And yes, I do carry the label attached to the inside of my iPhone case. 😁
  3. Version 4.32.0 of Navigator is now available for iPhones and newer androids. To find your current version press "Experiences" in the center bottom banner with the ship and then press "about".
  4. 2:10 PDT No problems here. Using Firefox 119.0.
  5. We will be first time Princess cruisers on the Regal next February. Will definitely be following this thread for all things Regal. Thanks!
  6. On board the Oosterdam is another Oosterdam. It is located in the Crow’s Nest and is a scale model made out of Legos. Built by artist Nathan Sawaya in 2019 during the HAL JoCo Cruise. Check him out online. Very cool stuff. http://www.nathansawaya.com Photos taken by Canadianbear as they are much better than mine.
  7. The A1 said I had 10 bookings when I called the other day to make an AARP gift card payment. I know of only one cruise we are taking. I wonder if the other 9 are already paid for?
  8. This must explain the unexplained extra $200 I found today in my OBC that is above and beyond my AARP dollars. THANKS!
  9. On every HAL ship there is a small FREE single-sex dry sauna. One for men and another for women. This sauna has nothing to do with the paid spa. On most ships it is typically in the hallway on the Lido deck heading to the spa desk and right behind the ping pong tables. When it is closed it is behind watertight doors so it is not readily visible. Open hours are 8AM to 8PM. Both the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam have a much larger sauna with a window.
  10. No dedicated water stations that I am aware off. But you can fill your bottles at the Lido buffet so long as you fill it from a clean glass and not directly from the dispenser into your bottle.
  11. Take the time to look closely at the art and design details onboard HAL ships. You may be pleasantly surprised to see subtle features snuck in.
  12. I would say there is about a 1 in 365 chance of that happening. On the other hand, we all know what that day is called when it falls on a Sunday.
  13. Here are four different HAL bread plates. Notice the HAL ship logo? When you are seated at the dining table it will always be placed in this position to greet you. The plates are also available for purchase by asking the Maître d’. (a boxed set of 4 was about $35)
  14. It was quite impressive watching it come in and park last year.
  15. Version 4.31.0 is now available for iPhones and newer androids. To find your current version press "Experiences" in the center bottom banner with the ship and then press "about".
  16. Well that's interesting. The link is to the old version of the database that "locked up" last month and was no longer accessible to anyone. Here is the link to the new version I rebuilt this month. Cruise Steam/Sauna database Which one are we going to use for reference and updates from this point forward?
  17. There is a “secret” room tucked away within the Noordam. It was open to everyone. I like to call it, “A Quiet Place.” I spent several sea days here relaxing, reading and drinking without seeing another passenger. I will remain silent as to its exact location. Hopefully you will too when you come upon it. Otherwise, it is no longer a secret.
  18. When I am on a ship I like to explore looking for out of the way things. “Secret” things and places if you must. I thought I would share a few. Maybe you have some secrets to share, too. On the Noordam and Eurodam (and maybe on others) there is what I call the acoustic chamber. There are two of these nearby to each other on of the two ships. Stand in the center of it under the middle light and talk. You will notice an “odd” occurrence. It is like talking in a sealed chamber. Nobody else nearby you will notice it but yourself.
  19. @_Aquarius_ FYI, messaging not available on Cruise Critic. Welcome to Cruise Critic and enjoy your cruise
