  1. Okay, thank you! We’re going to Watertown, so the driver could come up near Kingston or go to Ogdensburg…more than likely he’ll go through near Kingston, but in case of an accident or other hold-up, he could continue further East. It doesn’t seem difficult to make the revision. I think I can do this! Good news this morning about testing going into the US…..👍
  2. Okay, I took the brave step and went back into ArriveCan…..it wasn’t difficult at all…just like you said!! But, I saw the it said that my passport was registered…true….and that my vaccinations are registered….but they’re not completely registered, only the first 3 shots. So, for entry into Canada, only two shots are required as Gnome12 says? If so, then all I have to do is correct the entry date and place of entry (I don’t know where we’ll re-enter Canada) and review the last few questions on the day we come back? Do I submit the information from the US? If so, I will have to ask what bridge of entry the driver is using. How many hours are we given for submitting before getting to the border? What happens if the driver changes his mind and uses a different entry point..after I’ve submitted the information? Or is that not an important aspect of this? I don’t go until August..I should have this down pat by then …hopefully 🤞
  3. I’ll have to try that..and now that I’m vaxxed to the maxxed , that new information will have to be entered too. I’ll let you know how it goes, especially if it doesn’t go well..🤣
  4. Thank you. I’m so nervous about all this, I’ll probably look like I’m guilty of something. But I have to get used to it if I ever want to leave Canada and get back in again! 😊
  5. Receipt Question….. Is the receipt an e-receipt or a paper, in-the-hand receipt? I’m asking because I’m taking a same day trip by coach bus to Watertown this summer. All of us old ladies will have to fill out the ArriveCan form, right? If we need a paper receipt, how do we do that? I thought that I read on the ArriveCan site that one can show the receipt from a device. Is that still valid, I wonder? I hope the day trip host knows that the bus needs wifi. Also,is it mandatory that the ArrivCan be filled out only in the US, or could I mostly fill it out while still at home, then just fill in a few things before re-entering Canada? Thank you for your help in this. 😊
  6. Just thinking….if you were in Florida coming off a cruise or land vacation…and needed a test to board the airplane…where would you get tested if not a pharmacy or lab? You’d still be Canadians looking to be tested. I have heard that an address is sometimes required, so those already in the US use their hotel address when booking at a pharmacy, or even their ship’s name. Perhaps phone the Walgreens and ask how to book. Lots of Canadians spend time in the US before a cruise and need testing. Good Luck!
  7. I’ll have to test out your theory…I have a B3B booked, I booked it on-line….I’ll wait to see if the steward mentions it first. I’m in the same cabin for all three so it’s not an issue of moving, but the in-between meeting. 😊
  8. Okay, I didn’t know that. I’ve done several B2Bs and sometimes we walk off and sometimes we meet in a lounge. I didn’t put it together that the ones outside the US may have been the lounge meetings. I will pay better attention next time as I have a few booked already. And I do prefer the lounge meetings 😁. Thank you for that information.
  9. Glad you love it, LOL…it’s all in the interpretation. 😊. If you don’t want to change cabins then you don’t, it doesn’t bother me if I have to…although my preference is not to….but it won’t preclude me from doing a B2B….and I book well in advance as well. How you saw ‘snark’ in my comment is beyond me….but people can change cabins if they have to. You prefer not to…so be it. Should I interpret your desires as being snobbish…? No, it’s your preference…since the OP is asking about doing B2B for the first time…they’ll see that they don’t ‘need’ the same cabin, if they can’t get it.
  10. Why ‘assuming cruise is in US’? Do B2Bers not do the walk off/walk on if in a different country?
  11. The stewards may not always know or remember. I like to ensure that they do know and know that they need not bother with my cabin in consideration of their workload that morning. I can get clean towels that evening. Not everyone can get the same cabin for a B2B…it’s certainly more convenient and it’s my preference, but I’ve had to change cabins…and lived, LOL
  12. Just to be a little more specific, in case newbies are reading…..refundable OBC is given back to the owner of it….that includes OBC from yourself, from a travel agent or any other non-Royal Caribbean gift giver. OBC given by Royal Caribbean as a gift for booking, or as part of a promotion for whatever reason is forfeited if not used. I know you mean the self-given OBC, but sometimes these postings take a few twists along the way and the original intent gets lost. It can confuse the newbies.
  13. More often than not, your room steward will say something. He might ask if you’re in the same cabin or moving. If I’m staying in the same cabin, then I make sure to tell him that he need not worry about cleaning my cabin on change-over morning. I can make the bed, LOL. He’ll be busy enough with the ‘new people’ cabins.
  14. You’re right, everyone has their own reasons…and whatever works for that person. 😊
  15. I remember when that happened. I bought some too, but not as much as you. It was all over the boards at the time. Yes, the good old days indeed!!
  16. That’s what I feel too. But my cc told me that they considered buying foreign currency as a cash advance. That can be alot of instant interest payments. I’m not talking about buying OBC, but purchasing foreign money at a currency exchange business. I still think it's a ‘purchase’, but not according to my cc.
  17. That’s why it’s not considered a cash advance..because of the description. I don’t take my cash out at the Casino, but go to Guest Services to get any unspent cash refunded. I’ve never been changed a fee to do it. I don’t believe the Casino charges a fee if a person withdraws cash from their account, but will charge if one withdraws off a credit card. That’s been my experience.
  18. That sounds familiar….but it raises an interesting question for me. I buy my foreign currency at a currency exchange business in my city. I cannot purchase foreign currency with my credit card because the credit card holder says that it’s a cash advance. I don’t see it that way. To me it’s a purchase. So, I wonder , how is purchasing OBC different than purchasing foreign money….and especially for me..being in Canada? I wonder if Royal calls the transaction Gift Purchase or something like that. I’m going to buy $20 OBC and see what happens on my credit card…cause it’s a points card and what the heck. Also, the card doesn’t charge a currency exchange fee. Will see what happens.
  19. Back then, Canada didn’t have many, if any, point-producing credit cards so it wasn’t an incentive. It’s all changed now. 😊
  20. What I’ve done is put a large sum of money in cash on my account at Guest Services if I know I’ll be spending alot. You don’t have to rush to do it, I believe the ship allows you to spend something like $500 before ‘asking’ for some payment. Years ago I bought OBC, but can’t remember now how I did that. The cash deposit works just as well. I like to avoid sticker shock too!
  21. Ottawa, Ontario is North enough to see Northern Lights…..and Iceland, Greenland are certainly in range. Saw them in Iceland last time I was there. Of course it all depends on the sun’s activity, so we’ll have to hope for some.
  22. Bergy bits sounds cuter than burger bits. Thanks for the correction and information! 😊
  23. They want a professional picture….or maybe the scare of seeing the picture on the front sent the sensors off base…hahaha! 🤣
  24. Well rats, I didn’t know that. The process just wouldn’t go forward. I’ll try again at the next election. 😊
  25. Then I’d have to convince myself to trust the mail system. Talk about voting by mail..tried to, but the system claimed that it couldn’t read the back of my driver’s license….bummer. No matter how many pictures I took. There must be a trick to that aspect, don’t know what I was doing wrong. I’ll have to decide on how to renew the passport, glad to hear that appointments were honoured.
