  1. You’re saying that this company can come into the baggage hall at the cruise port and take your suitcases out to either the airport or designated hotel? That would really be useful especially if one wanted to take the train to the airport….no luggage hassles.
  2. Well Jeez…..so judgemental…if you don’t like what you read..just keep on scrolling….I didn’t ask for comments…and it wasn’t directed at you. In case you don’t know….a Main Dining Room is not a ‘casual’ environment….the Wind Jammer is.
  3. I’m sure that’s what I said….people will not conform to other people’s wishes - in this case - Royal’s suggested dress codes. They will do what they want regardless of the social graces. I can only dress how I feel is appropriate and at the same time, follow suggested dress codes.
  4. That sounds reasonable especially if your sister didn’t contribute financially to the costs of the cruise. One misses these finer points by travelling solo.
  5. ….and that’s the start..some people just don’t want to conform to other people’s wishes, even if for only a few hours or less. Guidelines or not, they’re going to do what they want.
  6. Did some official ask to see your passport? If so, then they saw your ArriveCan submission. It links to your passport.
  7. Families can all be done at the same time in the same document.
  8. That’s my assumption as well, but other says not. I really don’t know because I typically cruise solo.
  9. How does that work out if just one person paid for the cruise? Or if the other person is 5-years old? If only one cc was given, how does the second person receive their portion of the FCC? I guess in the case of the OBC, Carnival keeps the half that can’t be given to the second person. In my case, the cancelled booking was a solo one. If the replacement booking includes a second person…then that person has no right to ‘my’ new and improved OBC? If that is the case, why does that pop-up keep asking me to ask other members in the cabin if it’s okay to spend the OBC? Or if the first booking included my 5-yr old niece….how does she spend her so-called half….she doesn’t yet have a cc. Does Carnival send her an FCC in her name, even if she didn’t contribute financially to the cruise fare? Something doesn’t sound right.
  10. I was under the impression that OBC was per cabin and not per particular person. I happen to be solo on a cruise coming up in November. Received a nice OBC from a cancelled cruise back in Dec 2020….and everytime I used the OBC to prebuy water, Pepsi, dinner rezzies, etc….a reminder comes up for me to check with other cabin occupants to make sure that they are in agreement with my using it. I don’t see why your ex-wife ‘owns’ half the OBC….perhaps ask your PVP where she gets that information? I believe an OBC is per cabin for all to use or agree to use.
  11. I agree that some people can be over zealous when it comes to being safe and having an uncomplicated passage. It isn’t the end of the world if one doesn’t have one, or loses it while travelling. Believe it or not, some people do believe that one is ‘stuck’ if passport-less. It’s a gigantic hassle to find the right government office to start the process of replacing it and especially in a non-English speaking country. But it’s free choice to own a passport. As much as some are overzealous in saying one absolutely needs one….it’s being misinformed to say one doesn’t need one if travelling outside your home country. I recommend a traveller have one…but again, it’s free choice.
  12. And the sky can fall in too! I’m not saying that a passport solves everybody’s problems all the time….but it sure does help in cases where you need identification and it presents a trustworthiness of the person because one has gone through checks and balances of truth in order to obtain one. Don’t want one, then don’t get one.
  13. Then keep on scrolling if you don’t agree with what’s being said. No one is forcing you to buy a passport. Lots of people find them to be useful, necessary, and comforting to have when travelling outside their home country. Why disagree with that?
  14. I believe it can be transferred from your onboard account to your Casino account and used to play the machines.
  15. What was nice about the description of the Wool House was that it told of its history of storing wool before transporting it. I don’t believe the article told of its current use…and that’s why I thought it was a museum. I was hoping it was a yarn store, LOL. No, I don’t say anything, but do order an alcoholic drink. Haven’t had a beer in 52 years….maybe I’ll try one again…tastes do change!! 😊
  16. Thank you for all the answers. 😊
  17. Thanks for the notice….I’ll be on the lookout!
  18. Thank you for that information. I’m glad I asked. On Royal, any cash gift or OBC given to the cruiser is refundable if not used. Only Royal Caribbean OBC is non-refundable.
  19. Is the ‘gift’ whether OBC or Cruise Cash, refundable back to the cruiser?
  20. Is a bouquet of fresh flowers allowed on Carnival cruises? Hopefully going on Celebration in November and thought it would be nice to buy a bouquet of flowers to bring onboard. I know that no dirt or roots are allowed, just clean stems……I know one can order flowers but…..the price is rather excessive.
  21. Do you have a phone number with a Princess representative that you could stay in touch with starting before your flight? In that way you may get a feel as to whether they are going to show up or not. They will know that you are serious about being at the airport waiting for them. Best of luck to you and your group.
  22. Can always change family tradition….offer to take the g/daughter to McD’s the night before for dinner…..then look for a new ‘adult’ family tradition restaurant.
  23. I sure do…that’s how I discovered Skittles! It was nice to see a whole basket of goodies!
  24. A while ago someone said that the ArriveCan replaced the paper immigration form we used to complete on the airplane coming into Canada. I can’t see going back to paper once an electronic format has been established. I personally prefer the paper declaration..but then I’m not an e-type of person. Most young people are used to electronics and the future is theirs…so we old types will just have to go along to get along!! Maybe for quick trips where the paper version wasn’t used, the ArriveCan will be phased out.
