  1. Me too. So yesterday I finally managed to get my TA to upgrade to A3 and then when she offered me the cabin choices... Guess what? Besides 9022 I also had a choice of 9110. Then I realized we were talking about the same cruise. Anyway I changed from 10003 to 7002. Is there any reason why u didn't go for deck 7 forward? Ps. Yes upgrading for our cruise is cheap. I also paid $100 for both of us from A4 to A3. Maybe not many ppl are interested in this turkey intensive itinerary. Yes I am worried about itinerary change. I already booked my flights leaving Istanbul.
  2. Thanks. Already booked 7 forward as another thread said there should be no noise from the ceiling of the theater below. I haven't really thought about the waves though. Thanks anyway.
  3. Let me guess. U are going to Turkey this summer 😉
  4. Didn't think of the laundry issue. Thanks for highlighting. Though 9024 to 9032 will be a lot closer to the laundry and yet they are already filled for some strange reasons. Maybe I should go back to deck 7 forward if they are still available. Believe or not I have asked my TA to check for the searchlight obstruction on 10003 and for three days there are still no replies from Oceania. (And no one answered the 800 numbers when I tried to call directly!) Maybe I just go for the upgrade regardless. But I don't want to upgrade to an even worse off A3 cabin
  5. Thanks edgee. I have booked a A4 guarantee and they have given me room 10003 which might be obstructed by the searchlight so I am thinking of paying to upgrade to A3 but most of the rooms are gone except those at deck 7 fwd. I looked at and compared the deck plans of 6 and 7 and it seems those purple A3 cabins (especially those right at the front) are more forward than the stage if the scale is accurate. So hopefully that's the reason why the previous poster didn't hear anything. Now there is an empty white space right in front of 7000 and 7001 so I don't know what that is. Also not sure if a deeper balcony is a better thing (a wider one certainly is) as your view from the room is further away from the sea. That's why I asked the previous poster. Didn't know about the late rehearsals but I definitely hope that they will do them during the day rather than at night. (They have got the entire day to do them!)
  6. Will be disembarking at 0800 but flight is not until 1600ish. I think it will be too early to head to the airport despite hearing it will take a while if traffic is bad. So we are thinking of doing something else and coming back for the luggage but we couldn't figure out where we could keep our luggage. Does anyone know or has tried to go down this path before? or has anyone gone straight to the hotel or the airport after disembarkation? Thanks.
  7. I am thinking of booking these cabins too. Did the theatre finish early after the shows? or will that turn into some kind of discoes afterwards? When you say extended balcony do u mean it is deeper than others? will that give a more "restricted"view when looking out from the room (like through a tunnel)? Thanks
  8. This! Is the photo that I am looking for. 10003 is just the same on the starboard side, ie the first balcony room next to the searchlight. Seems the searchlight is not in the way as much as in the Marina. (Maybe they have learnt the lessons?). Though there is still the problem of the Captain/crew being able to peep into your cabin from above 🙂
  9. Ok I will give them a call on Monday, thanks. I am not sure how we deal with motions (have been cruising Mediterranean a couple of times) and hopefully we can cope. I think the sea was not too bad during summer within the Mediterranean Sea.
  10. OK thanks mauibabes. I am still trying to check with Oceania customer service whether my #10003 has an obstructed view or not. The website only has numbers to call but no email? Anyone knows how to reach them (by email) - don't want to make an IDD call unless it is absolutely the last resort.
  11. My guaranteed A4 cabin was assigned at #10003, and then today I read from someone that the same cabin number in Marina is blocked by the searchlight (which i am not sure if the same goes for Vista), so I am thinking of paying for a possible upgrade to the next category A3, which is still in the available status. (that means I can choose this time) However there are not many choices left. One is the #9022 that is right next to the concierge lounge and a handful in the foward of deck 7 (in the range of 7000-7005) Two questions: 1. From the deck plan I don't get what is in front of the 7000 cabins, i guess that is the ship's core infrastructure. and then I look at deck 6 but i again can't work out what is below of those deck 7 forward cabins. Is that the ceiling of the stage of the Vista Lounge? If so, would that be noisy at the front or above the stage? Will the shows finish early at night? 2. The other choice is #9022 which is right next to the concierge lounge. Is that going to be noisy if ppl watch TV all night (assuming that is open 7x24)? Any advice is welcome as we are light sleepers and also do not want an obstructed view. Thanks.
  12. And don't miss the skojcan caves as well. Also, I am just surprised with the comment "everything is much cheaper in Slovenia" and I always thought Slovenia is one of the most expensive countries among all the Balkan countries 🙂
  13. we have booked a Vista cruise from Athens to Istanbul in this July stopping at many ports in Turkey. I don't know why the turkey ports were cancelled previously I just hope that they would not further cancel.
  14. Yes I used to have these permanent press shirts for work until I outgrew them. We don't have to wear formal shirts for work if we don't need to face the business. So I have not really replenished my stock for many years and I wonder if I really needed to. I have those collared tops ,(not shirts but they have a few buttons at the top) and come with long or short sleeves but they do crease quite easily. Maybe not perspiring is the way to go in this case. Btw. I have never heard of that saying and it is quite funny and I wonder how ladies will glow from where I come from. (A place with high humidity and temperature) 😂
  15. Yes read yours but not sure if u meant long sleeves or short sleeves polo shirt. I guess your yes means short sleeves is allowed as well.
  16. Kind of related. For men, can we wear short sleeves polo (ie t shirt with collar) or we have to wear long sleeves polo? And I guess we have an iron board in the laundry rooms for self-service ironing or we have to send them for pressing? That's why I don't prefer to bring clothes that will crease easily. Never a fan of formal dressing.
  17. Thanks. How about if I pair the jeans with trainers or sneakers, or do I have to wear leather shoes as a guy?
  18. So do ppl wear jeans at night?
  19. Ic. Thanks. So I guess they rotate every day but why are they there just for lunches and not for dinners? So that means we have to stick to GDR for lunches everyday if we want to try them all, lol.
  20. What are the taste of the world offerings in O? And where can u find them? GDR?
  21. Thanks for the info on this. Though we also like to leave the curtains open once in a while to stare outside at night but I guess we just need to remember to be considerate. Well, at least it is not as bad as being noisy. Thanks.
  22. I have asked this before but did not get any response so I will ask again in this thread. Booked a gty and got assigned to a veranda state room under the bridge on deck 10 forward on Vista. Has anyone had any experiences staying in a cabin under the bridge, will that be noisy at night?
  23. Do they teach you the basics or just assume you know? Last time in celebrity it was expecting u know and the instructor was spending the entire session chatting with the ladies.
  24. So our guaranteed room has finally been assigned to the first concierge veranda room next to the Vista suite at deck 10 forward on the Oceania Vista. It seems the location is ok as it is not close to any noisy things. However it is directly under the bridge. So I want to ask for those who have stayed under the bridge in Vista, will that be noisy at night? I guess ppl will be walking around in the bridge and I wonder if we will hear any equipment noise as ppl say the walls are quite thin in the Vista. Also, ppl say we should try to avoid those cabins next to the staff exits/entrance. But we cannot tell where they are from the deck plan. Do we have any tips on this? (Not that it matters now as the room is assigned) But I want to know if it is near to my cabin right at the front. Thanks
  25. Was looking at this https://www.thepreismans.com/vista23_menus.htm#grand It seems the menu changes everyday in GDR even for Jacques offerings? Maybe that's only for Vista as it no longer has that french specialty restaurant?
