  1. Ohhhh. Duhhhhh! I guess I was thinking about the ventilation, and maybe the thought was to use the clips to hold part of it up. Hahaha! (Those are cute Nemo fish clips.)
  2. It is two bad that you can't just see this by looking at the Princess Deck Plans! I always open up a second split screen, easier than using the number of passengers option and then noting which ones show up for 3 or more, and which ones do not. The deck plans on Cruise deck plans website will have the little symbol code on each cabin. Also shows adjoining cabins, where on Princess, you only see that when selecting each cabin and looking at the info that pops up.
  3. The idea is not to use clips, but to prop something under the back so that it doesn't fall back and hit the sand. There are probably photos online or videos on youtube.
  4. I am reading on another discussion about the Indian type food, and that it is recommended. I am wondering what dishes to look for, what nights they might be offered. What kind of dishes are being seen on the ships. (Regal in particular, but I know that is always changing wth staff) I have even heard of people requesting dishes, but I wouldn't want to ask for that. And I wouldn't know where to start to know what to ask for.
  5. Beware of inside cabins that will have the bunks hanging in the sidewalls. I am not sure about ocean view cabins on the different ships.
  6. Also, if people are looking to cruise as a couple or party of two, then recently, Deluxe Balcony cabins are not showing up to let them book. It seems that maybe there is some problem in the system, with these cabins having the love-seat, that they all sleep at least 3, and they aren't showing up for booking for 2. Don't know if there is a workaround for that or not? Maybe book for 3 and then drop the 3rd potential passenger?
  7. There have been some mention here of these fare differences. One person who I believe is Elite was offered the cabin at the regular fare, while their friend, who is not Elite, or maybe Platinum or anything like that, was offered the same cabin category nearby for a lessor rate. It appears the some promos are actually made available to, and attached to, certain cruisers account. It seems that when this is the case, even a TA has not seen this fare, even when they have the past cruiser account number. I don't know if there is any rhyme or reason with this at all. Some people wondered if it were discounts to cruisers from certain States. I wonder if maybe these fares are offered based on what upcoming cruise interests are checked in your profile. Like Alaska, Europe, Caribbean, etc. I am seeing a lower rate like this on a cruise when logged into my account. I think I have this checked as an interested type of cruise. In the end, everyone should make sure they log in and 'go mining' when looking at fares. I don't know if this is still true, but sometimes these promos are directed at certain cabins or categories. I I think it used to be that you could sometimes see a lower fare when it came to the point of selecting a cabin. All of this seems to be anybody's guess!
  8. I agree that I would try to do an obstructed balcony. Fresh air, light, and some view... and no beds on the walls! But, if they want to do the inside sideways, that one video of A203 is really good. That will show them exactly what to expect.
  9. Also, Discovery Princess Inside Cabin Tour - Stateroom A203
  10. Look on youtube for a video called Regal Princess Inside Stateroom Tour, posted by A Journeys I think this is the sideways layout with the pulldown bunks.
  11. Princess will probably not allow a passenger in a cabin where there is not a bed or berth for them. If there are no OV cabins on the ship, an obstructed balcony would be the lowest fare other than an inside. Sideways inside cabins seem to have more open space in the bedroom area. Look on Youtube for video tours of Princess sideways cabins. The extra bed is still on the wall, but it might be more manageable. Good Luck!
  12. If your friend is a Princess and Crooners fan, then that is what might have been missing. I am sure for Alaska this would be a nice ship!
  13. Which itinerary did your friend sail. I definitely prefer some other ships, especially for some sailings. I like the open, unobstructed retreat pool, the Sanctuary, etc. But, for Alaska, you might love Majestic. If you understand the weather and timing limitations, then you could def. consider that cruise! Just be aware that it will be late in the season, there could be cooler more unsettled weather, and then there are the short days, with early twilight. I think there have been other threads and comments in the past about sailing the last cruises to Alaska. Maybe a search would find them for you. It is almost September now, so I would watch the weather and Fall-time conditions to see what you will encounter. I don't know about any nice Fall change of colors. But I am sure that there are areas where the trees, maybe Aspens, are scenic.
  14. Now this has me thinking about their specialty drinks or desserts, even maybe sides. In my mind, you would have to dine there for those!
  15. If you look at this promo, it is for SELECT SAILINGS IN 2023. I think you can click on the different destinations there to see which ones offer this promo.
  16. I have seen staff remove 'stuff' from loungers. This in particular was at the Retreat pool on the Regal. That should be done, all the time, on all ships!
  17. Of course all cruisers are different! But, I am not going to discount this posters complaints. There seem to be valid issues. I have seen other comments about these kinds of issue, not being able to be served in MDR, etc.. These seem to be related to staffing issues, and Princess. (other lines as well) trying to go back to full capacity without enough staffing. Sailings on the Diamond have been cancelled. And, now some are wondering if other ships could be cancelled or limited in capacity.
  18. I like the divided containers to keep food from running all together. And, this can help keep food warm, or cool, too! I can be picky that way.
  19. "Deluxe" means the cabin is slightly larger with the loveseat. These are found on Royal Class ships, Royal, Regal, and newer. "Premium" means the balcony itself is larger, extended. These are found on different ships. On Emerald, Crown, Ruby, these are balcony cabins on deck 10. I believe that AFT, wake view, cabins can also be 'Premium'. Both standard balcony cabins and Deluxe balcony cabins can have a Premium larger balcony. On the very newest ships, these can be found on Dolphin Deck forward and aft cabins. Check the ship deck plans and you will see!
  20. Also, I assume you do know about Bistro Sur la Mer. I do not know, but that might offer a bit more unique/special experience than Crown Grill. In either case, I would let the restaurant know that this is an anniversary dinner, and if there happens to be anything they can do to make is more special. They would probably offer a special cake or dessert. I don't know if you could arrange anything in addition to that.
  21. Do you have a cabin with a larger than standard balcony? Especially if you do, and if you like Crown Grill Surf and Turf, book the Ultimate Balcony Dinner Or, how about you book the Ultimate Balcony Breakfast, followed by a special Spa experience. I believe that Princess does offer some kind of Anniversary Package... look on your booking on the Princess website, or on your App to check that out. I don't have any huge ideas coming to mind for at night after dinner.... Perhaps you could have your stateroom attendant do a special job at turndown, bring in flowers that you have ordered, wine or champagne... that kind of thing?
  22. Do you know if that cabin was showing booked several days ago? Often people, or TAs will like automatically put a hold on a cabin when they start looking at a cruise, but not actually book right away. Also, if you are booking for 2 people, but a cabin has a max occupancy of 3 or 4, it won't show you that cabin to select. Which cabin on which ship are you hoping for. People have been running into that glitch or issue with Princess online. If you have not, try making a mock booking for 3 and 4 people, and see if that cabin then shows up. If that is the problem, pullman berths in the cabin you are wanting, I do not know if there is any work-around. Perhaps book for 3 and then remove the third person? If that booking process is the issue, I am not sure that even most people at Princess know about it or how to work around it. Good luck!
  23. I also have a question.... (I have no info about linked BTB sailing, or sauna access) I am seeing a single pass for the cruise, which comes to 29.50 per day. Does that seem right? I do not see any discounted couples pass. I do not see any one-day daily pass. Do single day passes become available once onboard? I am thinking that they used to offer daily passes, only after embarkation day, based on availability.
