  1. I just want to give a shout out to my two favorite Regent breakfast treats:

fresh mini chocolate croissants (preferably in CR)

pecan sticky buns in La Verandah

I discovered that CR seems to have the freshest croissants the last few days of our Navigator cruise, but the ones in Coffee Connection are usually fine to go with my daily iced latte.

  2. @kjbacon thanks for this thread! Didn't find it until today, because just got home from Norway/Scotland cruise on Navigator on Saturday. Then tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. Boo hoo, but at least got through the whole cruise.

Glad to hear you were being treated well in isolation. Heard the same thing from those in isolation on Navigator.

Emily is considering a Seabourn cruise next year, so hope she reads this.

Will also go read your comments on the Seabourn forum.

Hope you are free and still cruising and feeling well.

Sounds just like my experience at Frankfurt airport. Business class or cattle coach, everyone schleps  their own carry-on off the plane and down stairs to the tarmac. Any plane, all airlines.

The Frankfurt airport lacks terminals to service all of their arrivals and departures, so the airport tarmac looks like a parking lot of large jets. The bus travels quite a long distance to go from where your plane is parked way out there, over to a door to the terminal leading to more stairs and no elevator that I could find.

Yes, Frankfurt! I think we did a complete circle from our arrival gate to our departure gate by foot and then the rest of the way in the packed bus! I couldn't find elevators either.

  4. If you are on Explorer or Splendor, they offer Culinary Arts classes most days. On the other ships there are usually some cooking demos offered.

Usually a daily needlepoint get together is offered. Social host or hostess provides kits.

On our Splendor Transatlantic, a group of passengers got together with some of the performers and did a Flash Mob performance.

Also one day is usually a Country Fair where each department sponsors a game booth and you can compete for raffle tickets.

Sometimes other craft opportunities are offered. On Navigator the last 3 weeks, even though there were only 3 sea days, both card making and earring making were offered.

And special theme teas each afternoon at sea.

Usually see a Mah Jong group getting together each day as well as bridge.

  5. On Navigator last week, a friend on the 94 day Grand Voyage went in for a haircut (men's) and it was $58 I think. Found out from the stylist that the only part the stylist receives is the "service charge", which in this case was only $8. Rest goes to Spa and presumably to Regent for space rental. His wife verified this with the manicurist a couple of days later when she went in to have her nails done. She asked the manicurist if they would get the tip if it was added onto the bill rather than handed to them in cash. Manicurist says they do get the tip if added onto the bill. However, my friend has decided to play it safe and tip directly in cash.

ETA: do not know if this applies to non-salon services like massages. Might be worth asking the masseuse.

  6. Just back from 3 weeks on Navigator. Agree that Captain's Reception is the only night where I had to wait in line to get in at CR (maybe 5 minutes). Suggest going to the other entrance (not near theater) on that night, or any night there is a 6 p.m. event (Krew Kapers show at end of cruise, Seven Seas Society parties, lecturer). They have hosts seating from both ends of CR.

  7. Thought it might be useful to have a thread listing World of Wine list on each ship. This is the free tasting of some of the included wines, usually on the morning of the first sea day.

Here are the lists from Navigator on July 29, 2022

  8. Just to report back on using Inspire for pre-cruise testing via Zoom.

I was very impressed. Took 15 minutes total. They walk you through every step. I had made an error on my cruise buddy's birthdate when I registered her and it was caught and corrected immediately. Verification of results email was very thorough and the call didn't end until all info was verified by the Proctor and by us.

    The Copenhagen airport is chaotic!

We arrived Thursday morning and I’ve never seen such a mess.

    Luggage everywhere.

Yes. We arrived Thursday morning. Wish I had taken pictures! I was too shocked to think to do it. But let's just say the pictures in the news the last couple weeks have not been exaggerated!

Like I said I was impressed with Avoator / Lufthansa.

  10. Since there are no CC Meet and Greets on Regent yet, we who are boarding Navigator in Copenhagen will be getting together Saturday (July 23) at 5:30 p.m. at the Pool Bar.
All CCers are welcome. We would love to meet everyone who has been helping us get ready for the Copenhagen to Amsterdam portion of the Arctic GV.

Unfortunately, our Roll Call has been quiet since start of GV, so posting here.

I am fully paying for my cabinmate and me on a Regent cruise.  If my cabinmate is unable to travel, how do I simply change the name of my cabinmate on the reservation?  Is there any charge by Regent to change the name of my cabinmate?  Thanks in advance for your answers.

This happened to me in 2014. Regent would not budge. Only choice was for my daughter to not show up and I would sail solo. Since Regent doesn't really have solo supplements less than 100% it wouldn't have cost me extra, but I also wouldn't have gotten money back.

I'm eager to hear if Regent has improved in this area in the last 8 years.

Interestingly, I also cruise on Disney. They will allow a change all the way up to day of sailing. No charge before Paid in Full date, only $50 charge after that!

Maybe it is one of those things you go to ask about when you visit the different areas of the ship when you first get onboard. 😁

I always recommend signing up for classes that you want as soon as you board. Especially on Navigator since the space is small so classes are limited.

On Navigator, what restaurants require reservations?   I thought it was only Prime 7.  If only Prime 7 requires reservations, do passengers still make pre-cruise reservations at other restaurants and why?  thanks for answering a first time Regent cruiser's questions.

You are correct. Only specialty restaurant on Navigator is Prime 7, for which you can make one reservation before boarding.

The other restaurants (Compass Rose, Sette Mari, and Pool Grill) to not accept reservations. For Sette Mari, suggest going when it first opens or an hour or so later.
