  1. This was our experience from January, 2023, traveling from and back to the U.S. We booked thru Flight Ease. Landed in BA at 7:16am. Thru customs, immigration and baggage collection in about on hour. Met by local SB reps. They directed us to an area to wait for more arriving pax. Waited about an hour for more pax to arrive and and then on to a bus to the hotel and check in. Rooms ready when we arrived. Sent us downstairs for bus assignments and luggage tags with info about luggage and flights. Left luggage outside hotel room ~11:00pm for pickup. Buffett breakfast for the group around 5:30am next morning. On bus by around 6:30am to AEP. Our flight scheduled to leave AEP at 8:12 am but left about an hour later. Luggage restrictions no different than what you expect on a regular flight. No real weight restrictions. Plane was a 767. Return flight left Ushuaia at 12:30pm. Arrived EZE at 4:00pm. We had an 8:55pm out of EZE. Those who had booked thru Flight Ease and who had time before their next flight were taken by bus to a nearby restaurant for a meal on SB with a SB rep. Then taken back to EZE for our next flights. All very easy in the grand scheme of things.
  2. Are the launderettes open 24 hours? If not what are the hours they are open?
  3. This topic most likely has already been covered but if you have had experience staying in suite 1011 or 1115 I would love your review of the suite, especially with respect to noise and activity related to the launderettes.
  4. We found goggles very useful especially when on a zodiac run from the ship to a landing.
  5. For those of you who have done both Antartica and the Arctic which did you prefer or were they both great for different reasons. We did the Antarctic on Venture. A bucket list experience. I'd do it again. Thinking about the Arctic. Would love to hear from those who have done both.
  6. No ice cream in Arts Cafe in Nova. Bummer.
  7. We were on a recent Silversea cruise that stopped in Palermo, Sicily, where we hired a private guide. We chatted about a lot of things and asked him if he had been to the United States. He said he had. He told us he often was tipped in US dollars and would save them and over time he had saved enough to cover the costs of his trip to the US.
  8. It’s not scheduled but when the circumstances are right the expedition leader will make announcement as to when to show up for it.
  9. Forgot to mention we used silk or liner socks under our calf length boot socks.
  10. 1. Take both 2. Don’t need face mask. 3. You’ll want calf length boot socks preferably wool. 4. It’s about layers. First layer merino wool tops and bottoms. Next fleece tops and bottoms. Next water proof bottoms. Next your Seabourn provided puffy jacket under your Seabourn provided parka. You’ll be using Seabourn provided muck boots. It’s coldest and wettest when you’re in the zodiac. Once you make the landing you’ll find that you can be too warm. In our experience the temps averaged around 30*F. It’s a great experience.
  11. You obviously didn’t try to dine in Salt Kitchen or Atlantide last night. Long line at Salt Kitchen at 8. Suggested we wait in the Shelter and have a drink which we did. 45 minutes later hostess from Salt Kitchen came to say no luck but she would make sure to get us in tomorrow. So went to Atlantide. Shortish line but seated fairly quickly. That was the last quick thing that happened. The place was jammed with many large groups. Didn’t get out of there until 10:30.
  12. markham as this is our first on Silversea have no way to compare anything to Muse/Moon/Dawn. Have no plans to dine in La Dame. Don’t like menu and my wife doesn’t eat Japanese so no Kiaseki. Fortunately for me plenty of sushi and sashimi during lunch in La Terrazza. Hope to try Salt Kitchen before end of cruise.
  13. Seabourn fan. Regent fan. On first Silversea cruise. Silver Nova. Initial observations. Beautiful ship. 54000gt 728 pax capacity so very spacious. Standard veranda suite roughly same sq ftg but seems smaller. Don’t have a tape measure but I’ll bet they’re longer but not as wide as SB or R. Best bathroom at sea in veranda suite in my experience. Pool staff dressed in dark outfits. Why? It’s very hot and they’re dripping wet. Pool deck great but not close enough to Grill. Can of course order at pool and pool staff will deliver to you. Grill food mediocre. Grill waitstaff dressed in dark shirts dark pants with suspenders. Look like hotel maintenance workers and they too dripping wet. Service and food in Atlantide good. La Terrazza seems extremely understaffed and food not so good at least so far. Yet to try other restaurants. Don’t like included excursions as use and using almost 100% private guides. Love Seabourn Square. Silversea version, Arts Cafe/Reception area on this ship pales in comparison. So far staff and crew don’t seem as warm as on SB and R. So, so far mixed opinion.
  14. The chateaux marac is a very modestly priced wine.
  15. Any chance you can post those pix here on CC?
  16. Not a tour but see post #30 in Silver Nova Joins the Fleet thread.
  17. Thanks. I've seen this. I agree. He's a good guy to follow. My guess is it's essentially something that Silversea provides to TA's to send to their clients that he modified. I'm hoping for info and comments from what passengers have experienced on the current cruise.
  18. Now the she’s set sail on her inaugural voyage hope to hear from some passengers on their impressions, observations and comments.
