  1. Please keep photos and comments coming. BTW for those of us not in the know who is Lawrence?
  2. If you think about it and include the cost of the meal you didn't have at let's say Atlantide, which if it were in an upscale restaurant would be around $200 for 2, OK let's say it's only $160 for 2 (I'm being very conservative with these costs. We pay a lot more in Los Angeles.) and you've already paid that in your cruise fare, that puts the effective net total cost of La Dame at $480 for 2. Kinda steep unless they pour some pretty expensive wines.
  3. We crossed the Drake in January and had rough crossing both ways. In fact after we left Ushuaia they closed the port and several ships could not leave for 2 days. We took Stugeron for motion sickness and never got sick. One of the dining rooms was completely tossed. Dishes, glasses, etc. everywhere. Had to close that dining room for half a day.
  4. That youtube video is right off the Silversea website for the Nova. Would love to see the real thing from someone on the short TA cruise prior to the August 14 cruise or from someone on the August 14 cruise.
  5. Recently checked my ressies for the same sailing and found the new and improved (for SS) up charge for La Dame. Hard to swallow so I won't.
  6. Hardly ahead of schedule. Nova was originally scheduled to sail in mid July. Don't recall the exact date.
  7. I have found that many TA's do it as hobby and not as a vocation. They do it to get TA discounts on their own cruises and other travel. Many have their own agency name but it's associated with a large well know agency, local or national. They often work from home and can be difficult to reach on a timely basis especially at odd hours when a problem arises and you need them. If you find a good one who responds to your calls and emails on a timely basis hold on to him/her.
  8. Based on my experience in Alaska and in Antarctica you can exchange sizes once onboard.
  9. In which direction are you more likely to have rougher seas? And how rough? How does it compare to the Drake Passage?
  10. We were dock in Tangier. In Casablanca we used Mohamed Rhanimi. Found him on ToursByLocals website. Look for Mohamed R. Excellent guide for Casablanca. The Great Hassan II Mosque is a must see in Casablanca.
  11. For those who have sailed Endeavour I'm curious about mid-ship suite location. Which is better - Forward or Aft of elevators and stairways?
  12. She's yet to have her funnels put in place. That may contribute to the "discombobulated" look. That and the fact that she was purposely designed as an asymmetrical vessel. At 54,700 GT and with 728 passengers she has a 75.1 passenger to space ratio giving her the best passenger to space ratio in the Silversea fleet and among the best in the luxury cruise industry.
  13. One would think/hope there was some advanced planning and they will have enough jackets to fill the need.
  14. Just google top producing Silversea travel agents and you'll end up with a bunch of TA's to look into.
  15. This is good to know. How difficult is it to get a reservation in the restaurant of one's choice at the time one desires on the day they wish to dine?
  16. So are you saying there’s no reason to make a reservation in those restaurants that SS indicates “require” reservations?
  17. Thanks for the replies and the info. Seems like an odd way to manage dining reservations but I'll go with the flow with the assistance of our faithful butler.
  18. New to SS. For the restaurants that require a reservation I see I can book "Early" 7pm - 8pm; "Regular" 8pm - 9pm or "Late" 9pm - 10pm. If I were to book an "Early" reservation and show up at say 7:45pm is that acceptable or am I expected to show up at 7p for the "Early" reservation?
  19. The maiden voyage of the Silver Nova was delayed by about a month. Does anyone have a guess or any insight as to the possibility of another delay? As of now supposed to commence cruises a/o August 12, 2023.
  20. I suspect you mean no bathtub, shower only in bathroom.
