Wow, thank you for this thread - education. I had thought it was odd that there are 2 additional people outside of the future cruise consultant's office working as consultants on my current cruise - Royal Princess. If they intend to charge people their credit cards without full disclosures of terms and conditions as well as written confirmation - it is a scam. And Princess let these people on the ship, sooner or later, there might be a class-action law suit or very bad publicity at the least.

@JimmyVWine For me it has now been at least 20 minutes maybe 25. Now I wish I just bought one card instead of the 5 that I did just to make sure it all worked!
I waited overnight on two separate orders a few weeks ago. It led me to think that it is processed by human...

Yes, the call center is terrible. Since I can hardly understand them and they read from a script anyway, so I just do chat now. And usually the only thing I ask them via chat to handle is either requesting a cabin change or cancel my booking. They can't handle anything beyond simple tasks. I have absolute no confidence of the info they provide so I don't even ask.

Hi Ebeluga, wondering how your latest experience with HDMI was on the Grand was? would love if u could share back what you had to do in the end
Yes method described by gjcruiser and LAcruiser88 worked for me on both Grand and Enchanted Princess last Oct and Nov respectively. I did Netflix streaming on Suits!

@LACruiser88 Thanks for the detailed info for the bus to Florence. Had a wonderful experience with the bus company and an amazing day in Florence. On board bus just departed Florence at 4:05, 5 min after scheduled time to wait for a lady who unfortunately did not make the bus departure.

We have made it to Madrid! We are checked in to our hotel, Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid, and are unpacking.
The streets were busy with tons of people. Reminiscent of Las Ramblas in Barcelona at rush hour! Photos coming soon...
Going for a walk and a bite to eat before we turn in and pass out from lack of sleep! 🙄
Nice! We were in the other Hyatt (Thompson Madrid) last Monday and Tuesday! Your location is very close to Royal Palace and the Cathedral as well as the Tapa Row. See you on board on Enchanted Princess!

I agree it's a bad idea as well. I usually self-book to hold a cabin so my CVP can process it as her schedule permits, because of this, now it becomes urgent for her!!!

For the Celebrity October 16th cruise on the Apex the new ports are Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes. Glad we chose to cancel before final payment date. While those are all lovely ports we've been to all of them already and the premium fare for this cruise doesn't really make those anywhere near an even trade for 3 days in Israel. Best to be safe but it just seems that Celebrity could have done better with substitute ports. Praying for peace.
Yeap, I cancelled the HA one before final payment, the one right at Haifa and left quickly.

On the Grand Princess now and asked at the IC about their coffee. They only have one brand of coffee on board - Lavazza. In the IC they use the Lavazza expresso beans for all their coffee drinks. In the buffet they use a medium type coffee ground but it is still Lavazza. I don’t drink coffee so hope my terminology used is correct.
Also on Grand now. Tried coffee from restaurant and breakfast room service - and the taste was not smooth at all! Was wondering what coffee it was used.

Just saw this, I have been having this issue this week. Now it acts like it is logging me in but just keeps spinning. Not a good way to sell cruises....
Same issue here!!

Thank you. I will be on Grand so hopefully @GJCruiser 's method would work.
Thank you for your input @PrincessLuver as well.

Hi, could any tech expert advise if this is possible? I would like to hook it up to my laptop to work. If so, how do I get to the setting to choose the HDMI port? As I recall, the remote is very dumbed down, not much settings to configure!
Thank you!!

Tiramisu has not been in the IC since the restart. It was actually better than the one in the MDR. Smaller and enough to satisfy the palate.
I am hearing more and more passengers complain that they are unable to book the now included specialty dining (Crown Grill, Sabatini's, Kai sushi on the Diamond, etc).
Win win for Princess. Offer but can't fulfill. Money in their pocket.
I didn't see the new "cakes" in the IC on my most recent cruise.
Just a thought for Princess to make more $$...maybe the specialty restaurant will give priority to people (std fare) who are paying to book since now that would be "extra" revenue!

I do plan to bring and wear rubber gloves when using those utensils in the buffet. Those utensils are a bit disgusting!

@Steelers36 Hi, do you know if the wifi package plan rate is still offered on board after the first day, i.e. whatever days left on the voyage: #of days left x $15 (x 50% elite discount)? Or is it per day price after the first day?
Thanks!

Basically, room service other than breakfast ordered via the door-hanging menu will cost you on standard fare.

Surely the world cruise pax must have an answer for your prescription question on an extended itinerary!

Is stella artois on the menu to choose from?

I checked off Standard without really thinking much about it. I don't see us changing. It comes down to drinks for the most part.
We get Elite mini-bar which gives us 10 beers and 10 Perrier (after swapping). We get the starter water package for ~$7 (last price I knew). I BYOW and accept that I can be charged $20/bottle after the first two.
CA is $16/pp for us. Medallion Net is $15 total (we get 50% off). $47 per day in "fixed costs" versus $120 for Plus, leaves $73/day to spend on beverages and such.
I have never used the Ocean Now feature other than back when you got first drink free. Long gone. Also, in the rare occasion I might order a bar drink, my drink isn't on their menu and they don't (or didn't) have a custom order option to type in your own drink. So, useless to me. I just go to the bar and get what I want.
We have never ordered room service that I can recall.
I will accept that PCL is now going to charge us a nominal fee to eat at Alfredo's/Gigi's - not dissimilar to O'Malley's, Salty Dog. We typically go to Alfredo's on a Sea Day for lunch and share a pizza and perhaps one other item. So, we won't be spending $30 for two full meals anyway.
That means Standard wins the day still for us. If PCL removes that, well then we have to reconsider.
This is great mental exercise for Standard Fare people! Who needs Sudoku? I meant it sincerely.

If I use my medallion on Ocean Ready to do the lifeboat drill check-in (as was required) on our last cruise, will I be charged $15?
I think personalIy I will play their game, get a key card, put the medallion in the safe and am going to let them track me down in person now for the muster drill.

No more breakfast tag cards left in the room (per current steward). Everything g is paperless. Suggested I pick up the phone and call room service for menu items and suite canapés.
Hmmmm….did he not the the “message”.
He certainly did not get the memo. Lol!

So don’t use the APP on your TV or phone to order these items. Use the phone in your cabin or just tell the steward.
Such BS, Princess!!!

Will I still be able to order breakfast for delivery through the doorknob card I find in my stateroom? Can I continue to order housekeeping items like ice buckets or bathrobes with no charge?
Breakfast ordered for stateroom delivery by placing the card outside your door will continue to be complimentary and no additional fees will be charged, regardless of whether or not you have Princess Plus or Princess Premier package. The same is true for housekeeping items ordered either by telephone or through your stateroom steward. For guests on a standard Princess Package, housekeeping items ordered using OceanNow will incur the one-time $14.99 OceanNow delivery access fee.
How about issuing a key card to me and I will charge Princess for using the Oceanready app?

Hey Princess, another idea to make more profit...how about charge for priority to get on a life boat for emergency?

I am on the Royal now, got on when you got off. I am going to try to write in a pouched egg and see for tomorrow. Last Oct I tried to write in something simple on Grand and was turned down and substituted by an item on the menu!
