So there I was just working away… and Amazon notified me that a “laser” I looked at was on sale from $129 to $66.54. Say no more Amazon. Happy Mother’s Day to me. I’ll be hairless by end of day tomorrow. What a time to be alive?!

@LincolnLegend my horses are just not right in their heads, i swear....they all have access to stalls/run in sheds, but do you think they utilize them during storms? Nope, they would rather stand out in the pouring rain/wind/etc. If we do put them in the stalls and shut them in they absolutely hate it and pace and whinny. So, we just let them make their choice.

One of the horses on the equestrian property that I manage hates storms.  However, I see him all the time hanging his head out the window of his stall only to be drenched by the rain.  Crazy animals!

As soon as I said we didn't get much in the way of Tornado action in Ohio, Monday night my phone went crazy, my watch went crazy, my TV went crazy, sirens outside went nuts, dog was beside herself with all the noise.....I guess about 10:00 p.m. a tornado touched down somewhere in my vicinity.  Don't know where.  But, everything said to seek shelter IMMEDIATELY.

To the basement I went to finish watching the latest episode of Shogun in my Home Theater.  2 hours later, went outside...Nothing....not even a branch on the ground.

@MeganGC1983.....I guess I need to get me a storm shelter I can climb down in. 😉

Could be my turn this afternoon (along with several other Tribesters in this area) with the nasty weather.  Storm Prediction Center says we're in an enhanced risk area in DFW.  A few supercells are expected to erupt this afternoon that will be capable of 3" or higher hail, severe wind and "perhaps a tornado or two."

My Tribe I need your prayers 🙏. My Father in Law has been suffering with dementia for 10 years. My Mother in Law has been caring for him on her own. He’s 89 and she’s 86. Yesterday she collapsed, my brother in law found her. Drs found cancer in her bladder. We’re on our way to Vegas now.

Done.  Sorry to hear about this.

Today’s Cheers scorecard: Patti = 5, Jeff = 14. For the day and cruise (+7).

Coming up next: It’s great to be back out at sea!

I haven't had a chance due to my volunteering at the PGA tournament last week, but I'm following now.

Does Billy D. Washington (I'm a big fan of his shows) have a twin, because that looks just like him.

Correct. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just got the dreaded early release text. The kids will get out of school at 2 instead of 3:15. Cheer & soccer practices are canceled. We just sit and wait to die or not. It’s really sticky and gross out right now. You know where it’s not like this?! Bimini. This is garbage. 😆

My MIL lives east of Durant and has TWO storm cellars.

What a fun night! We were under a tornado warning for over 2 hours. At one point, there were two tornados within 20 minutes from my house. With the closes being a “dangerous, violent tornado” 10ish miles away. It was observed to be a half mile wide and then rain wrapped. It was headed for Chattanooga, I can see Chatty from my house, but then hooked north and back west and dissipated. We were sheltered for an hour because it was moving at 10 mph. Slowest. Tornado. Ever. Winds at 160 mph.

Today's forecast for OK looks ominous with storm center predictions showing high risk level 5 for a big part of the state.

You're not kidding! Nothing more tense than playoff hockey... make it a game seven, and holy cow....  I'm just glad it wasn't a late west coast start or I'd have big problems today....

Those west coast start times are killer.

  9. Another year in the books on volunteering at the Byron Nelson golf tournament from Wednesday to today (still had to work my regular job on Monday and Tuesday).  This was year #10.  Sure glad the weather forecast was wrong.  It called for lots of rain for the better part of the week.  Ended up getting all of the predicted rain, but it was all overnight.

    Totals for this year:

    # of hours on the course - 42.5 hours

    # of total steps - 40,171

    # miles walked - 17.8

Same.  Glad the game last night didn’t go to OT.  Actually got home before 10:00pm after the Stars game, and with the rain delay this morning, I was back at the course at 8:00am today.  Left the course at 7:45 this evening, and even saw a hole in one from some pro I’ve never heard of before.  I was |—| (this close) to making it on TV for that ace.

Turns out I actually made the TV broadcast on a few occasions, just not during the hole in one.

Great seats, great game! Between Stars and Mavs I was happy but stayed up WAAAAY too late last night.... had meetings from 7:30a to 7:15p with class in between, but it was worth it

    1.  I think I went to the Byron Nelson for about 20 straight years and never saw a Golf Ball. Party Pavilion Regular until the tournament left Las Colinas. Oh those were the glorious, golden days in Dallas with unmatched "scenery"

I’m quite certain we crossed paths inside that pavilion back in the day.  I’m here to say that the scenery today is just as strong.

  13. What a long a$@ day.  Picture 1 was the start of volunteering at the PGA’s Byron Nelson tournament.  Got to the course at 7:00am, left early at almost 3:00.  Got home, showered and immediately walked back out the door to meet my son to attend the Dallas Stars-Las Vegas Golden Knights game (picture 2 is from my seats tonight).

Just got home after a Stars victory, and am scheduled to be right back at the course at 7:00 tomorrow as well as the next 3 days. Looks like we will get wet with all of the rain forecast, or have lots of delays, making the days even longer.

Holy smokes.  That’s one big hail core on that 2nd picture.  And those are big supercells rather than a squall line.  Nasty stuff.

Yes she provided it all.  Unfortunately, that's the market right now.  We have already moved so I'm paying utilities and maintenance on two properties.  The home is in excellent shape.

Well, there you go.  You're also paying the pro-rated property taxes and insurance on the house you're trying to sell.

  16. If not already provided, your realtor should provide you with a sheet that provides info on recently completed sales on comparable houses, including the length of time on the market, sales vs. asking price, sales price/sf, etc..  The MLS provides a lot of data that can be narrowed down as tightly as you want.  I'm not in the residential sector of real estate, but I do have access to the DFW MLS, and I can tell you that the information is invaluable.  Of course, it removes the emotional factor of how badly a seller/buyer needs to move.

  17. I just made my very long week just a little longer with all of my time on my feet at the Byron Nelson.  Let's go ahead and add tickets to game 5 between the Dallas Stars and the Las Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow night.  My son twisted my arm.

  18. Wow.  Leave for a few days and you’re more than 20 pages behind.  Hopefully I can get through them in the next few days.

Got home from Vegas on Thursday, and I was still a tad hung over today from all of the Fireballs and beers on Wednesday.  Yep, that’s a 2 day hangover.  Nope, I didn’t think I’d need the Liquid IV.  My app says I walked nearly 15 miles while in Vegas for 3 days of golf this week.

I only have a few days of work and relaxation before I spend the better part of 55 hours on my feet and walking nearly 20 miles while volunteering at the PGA Byron Nelson golf tournament next week.  This will be my 10th year volunteering for this tournament, so I know what I’m signing up for.

Tonight at our bowling league, our league secretary collapsed from a seizure on the lane next to me.  He has done this before, so it was not a surprise.  It WAS a surprise to me, as I have never been near him when it happened previously from several lanes away.  When he finally “woke up” 5-7 minutes later, he mentioned that he remembered looking directly at my shirt when he fell forward into me, but didn’t remember rolling the ball immediately before that.  Strange.  Even more strange was that he proceeded to bowl a 237 and 244 after the seizure.

Wow that looks like an amazing barn. Are the horses boarded horses?

The horses are extraordinarily pampered.   Yes, all but 2 of the horses are boarded.  The owner owns the other 2 and those are used for the lesson program.

I just remembered why I don’t fry food… the smell. My house is gonna smell like saturated fat for days. Anyhow, got fried squash and chicken fried steak knocked out. Saved some cube steak for smothered steak in the future. We shall have this fattening dinner tonight and eat appropriately for the next 30 days until Allure of the Seas. BTW my dad taught me how to cook most things. My mom would mess up instant mashed potatoes.

The two biggest culprits for house food odors for me are Mexican food and beef stew.

  21. Only have 3 work days until May 6.  Off tomorrow (playing golf), heading to Vegas on Monday for 3 golf days and then the following week I’m volunteering (working) at the Byron Nelson golf tournament for 5 days.
