  1. I have volunteered at the Byron Nelson golf tournament for the past 10 years. One year, Marty caddied for Brenden Morrow in the pro-am. I had my picture taken with both of them. Last year, Marty played in the pro-am. I took his picture just after he hit his tee shot.
  2. I saw that video earlier. 5 are now confirmed dead. Pictures of the downed tree limbs from my front yard in the Tribe. Didn’t want to take away from your trip report.
  3. The wind in this storm right now is not fooling around.
  4. Wow. This storm is 10-15 miles north of me. I’m listening to storm spotters, and there is a wedge tornado out there with lots of power flashes. I can see nasty lightning out my back window. This one snuck up on us.
  5. Yep, wait just a second. Looking at the radar loop, it appears to be on a NW to SE trajectory. That’s an odd movement. And now looking at the NWS X feed, Anna, Melissa and Celina are in the tornado warned area. That’s definitely south from where this supercell started.
  6. Oh, and who could forget the “Eddie’s better” chant?
  7. I was at that game, too. Mike Keene was one of those character guys. We always used to watch him in pregame warmups spit out the piece of gum he was chewing in warmups and flip it into the crowd. I have to say, though, that the loudest sporting event in which I was attending was a game 7 double OT between Philly and Washington in Washington. I happened to be there for work and got myself a ticket about 5 minutes into the game. Unbelievable experience.
  8. Well, that goes without saying, but I’d much rather Dallas take care of business in regulation. In game 7 against Vegas, I took my pulse in the waning moments….let's just say my doctor would have been startled. My resting pulse is high enough as it is. I was actually in attendance for the double OT loss against the Devils in 2000 and also in the 5 OT game against Anaheim in 2003.
  9. The depth of the Stars is unbelievable. They are not afraid to throw out the 4th line, and that 4th line can even score. Nothing better than playoff hockey.
  10. Stars figured it out in the 3rd. I was seriously nervous after the 2nd. McDavid-Draisaitl together is lethal.
  11. You better hope the Stars figure out how to better handle the puck pressure by the Oilers. Dallas is lucky it’s still tied right now.
  12. Had to revive anything related to this topic. I have the app 7 Little Words that I play daily. One of today’s clues was “North American Lizards.” I immediately spotted the puzzle pieces that spelled out “Iguanas.” Guess who I thought of?
  13. I have never bothered with buying sweaters with a name or number, as the player invariably gets traded or signs elsewhere as a free agent. Now, if you had said a Claude Lemieux Stars sweater, we’d have a problem My favorite sweater? There was no option for a blank, but there is no name.
  14. I audibly laughed out loud at the Russ Courtnall sweater. Not many on here will get it.
  15. I once was stuck with the back row against the wall (no window) with the engine just on the other side of the wall in front of the bathroom…..from Newark to DFW. Absolutely miserable.
  16. Trust me….you’ll survive without the inter webs. Enjoy your vacation..
  17. I generally shy away from the frozen drinks, as they're too watered down. That looks like a good-sized shot of rum in it, so I might enjoy that one. If that's the ONLY rum in it, then not worth my while.
  18. The waiting is almost like waiting for someone's luggage to be found. IYKYK
  19. Enjoy the cruise, @sid_9169. There hasn't been a vacation where I haven't just shut off the phone and put it in the safe for the duration. I get enough stinkin calls, emails and texts while not on vacation (nights/weekends included), so I just shut it down. I always leave instructions with the family on which number to call at Carnival, along with my stateroom number, in the event there's an emergency.
  20. Right? I asked the attendant if those were really slot machines that paid out money. He simply smirked and shrugged. One of the ladies in our bowling league told me about another Shell station in the area close to my house that also has slots. She should know, because she regularly drives up to Choctaw for a few hours, including after we finish bowling at 9 on Friday nights.
