  1. I agree with Debbie -is shows your true colors as how you still go out of your way to make others happy and share your amazing clothes and shoes, etc. with others.

I think you Debbie and Myself all having surgery/procedures tomorrow - tomorrow it is oral surgery for me - Monday back epidural.

Will be sending positive thoughts your way

    Sharon

I'm hoping everything turns out good for you with your surgery today. I know a thing about those epidural injections for your back. Hope you get the relief you need from the injection.

Also sending positive vibes your way :)

  2. Marie,

I had no idea you have been through so much. It just shows how strong you are that you can go through so much and still be such a positive, giving person.

I am having surgery tomorrow as well, so I will will be thinking positive thoughts for you, please do the same for me! :)

    Debbie

Debbie...thank you so much for your well wishes. I too will be praying for you to have a successful surgery today.

  3. It's about as bad as me wanting to get a few of them taken in. But, it is time for me to move on past my old wardrobe.

This week I am moving all the "big" clothes that are in the 11 storage bins in my guest bedroom to garbage bags and taking them to a local thrift shop. All proceeds from the thrift shop go to Knox Area Rescue Ministries, a wonderful faith based homeless shelter. KARM is my pet charity and I teach a class in their Clean Start program that trains recovered drug addicts that live at KARM to become custodians and housekeepers. It's all about getting them off the streets, clean & sober, and providing job training.

    Lisa

See Lisa...you are a wonderful woman to take the time to help recovering addicts to become productive citizens again. I have a neighbor who opened up her own store and takes donated clothing to help women transition from welfare to work.

Keep up the good work my friend :)

  4. Praying, sweet friend.

We just got back from our wedding week/weekend and I'm unpacking, only to repack for our cruise which leaves Saturday. Marie, the photographer got some awesome pictures of the rings, my flowers, and my new/your old Badgley Mischka shoes. I'll post them or send to you as soon as she gets the pictures to me.

I've read through emails and am now making my way through this thread to see what you lovely ladies have been up to.

I immediately changed my shirt and am now wearing PINK, even if I am a day late! Marie, please know you're in my thoughts and prayers too, beautiful lady.

Both of you angels, please keep us posted.

    Hugs

    Judy

I can't wait to see pictures. Congratulations to you both and be happy :)

How sweet of you to wear the pink shirt :D and thanks for your prayers. I need them.

Have a fabulous time on your cruise!!!

    Sheri

  5. I'll be wearing something pink to work today! Join me?

You ladies have touched my heart in ways I can't describe. You are all so special wishing me well. And the pink touch was nice

Won't get results back until Thursday and needless to say I'm extremely nervous. Thank goodness I have the support of my loving husband and dear friends. I will post the results when they come in...but I am praying they are benign.

    Thanks again :)

  6. Wow! Two offers on the same day and I was just looking at bags on-line last night. I have not been able to decide what color I want (which is one of the reasons I haven't bought anything in the last 2 years). Another thing that has kept me from buying one is the size. I really want a smaller crossbody but know at some ports I will ned a larger one. You kind ladies may have solved my bag problems. If it does not sound too greedy I would love to have your small navy one, Sheri and if you can part with one, a larger one, Marie. My e-mail is kmcnana at comcast dot net. Thanks you, thank you, thank you.

I have to get home to take a picture of it. I'm at work now. Will email you this evening. It would be more of an evening bag. And no, it does not sound greedy to me. I never use it anymore and would be happy to send it to you if it works for you.

  7. More prayers here. Stay strong.

Scrapnana...I saw your post about wanting a cross body bag (small). What color were you looking for? I happened to have a deep navy blue bag that is just sitting around. If you are interested, let me know. Maybe I will copy this to the recycle clothing board.

Once again, thank you for your prayers :)

    Sheri

  8. Ladies...you have brought tears to my eyes. I am so humbled by your caring spirits. I never expected to receive so many well wishes and that has uplifted me tremendously and for that I am so grateful to you all.

I am scheduled for Monday at 8am. Today, I am ok and am so thankful for my husband who is my rock! Such a good man.

To my breast cancer survivors...thank you for your encouraging words also. I was looking forward to saying that I would be out 9 years from diagnosis on August 31st. Hopefully, I will still be able to say that.

Thank you all once again...and I will keep you posted.

    Sheri

  9. I hope I have this figured out!

I started cleaning out my closet. I hope I have items someone will enjoy they aren't nearly as nice as Marie's!

I have a few different sizes and possibly something for the younger crowd. It's really been a long time since I cleaned out my closet!!

Hi...your clothes are beautiful also...wish I could fit them...tee hee. I'm sure the ladies here will enjoy them as well.

  10. I am glad it arrived and wow, that was fast!

We have been out all day, so I am catching up on the posts and emails. Today was my reward for losing 50 pounds so far...we went hang gliding at Lookout Mountain, GA! I did a tandem flight with an instructor up to 3000 feet and it was incredible!

    Lisa

Hi...just tried on the top and my husband loves it!!!! Thanks again and your check will be on its way.

    Sheri

  11. Marie, I just have to tell you that you have exquisite taste! You always look so stylish and elegant. Your husband is one lucky man!

On a separate note, I have a question for all of you; I'm looking for some advice. In December of last year my brother passed away at the age of 54 from heart failure caused by all of the cancer treatments he received as a teen. It was fairly sudden and very tragic; he was an incredible man and one of my best friends. We are taking his widow on a cruise at the end of June to try and give her some smiles; she has been completely devastated and lost since his death. They were married for 30 years. Anyway, it has been my routine to buy gifts for all the ladies sailing with me to celebrate our cruise; last year it was cruise ship Pandora beads. They were a huge hit! I would like to do something special for my sister-in-law for this cruise, as she has never cruised with us before. Do any of you have suggestions on something special that I can get for her that would be meaningful and would remind her how much we love her and are there for her? I thought about a spa certificate, but I'm just not sure. I sure could use some suggestions!

Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your brother. You, along with your family are special in that you still make your sister-in-law feel a part of the family. Not many families are like that and that fact alone gives her bragging rights.

I think your suggestion of a spa certificate is lovely. Also, I was thinking about having flowers and a nice bottle of wine on her arrival is nice too. I'm sure she would appreciate that gesture. She most certainly will feel the love that your family has for her.

    Enjoy your cruise :)

  12. Good morning ladies,

I am not going to post the name of the lady who email me. It is not my nature. I know who she is and she know what she did. Most of my posts are on this thread, I know most of you; believe me it was not one of you.

Callydanny, I agreed with you. There were some ladies who never bother to thank me or let me know they have received the package. They are on my black list

Judy, thank you. I consider you are my friend too. I am sorry for the pinheads who email you.

Shorbr, I am sorry for the delay. I got the box; I will ship the package tomorrow.

    Ok ladies! Let's recyling.

    Marie

    Hi M,

Oh please, no worries. I will be happy to get it at anytime. Enjoy your guests for the week.

Judy, I finally sent the earrings by Fed Ex. I just could not find a box to send them in. You should be getting them tomorrow...

I have tons of shoes...in mint condition. I wear a lot of high heels though. I wear 8 1/2 in a shoe, but sandals size 9. I hate the back of my heel to hang over. I'm off tomorrow, going on a date with my hubs...but will take pictures and try to post.

  13. I think we need to stop speculating and accusing. It is starting to feel like a witch hunt and we are not behaving any better than those who have behaved badly.

Now someone has gone as far as writing an accusing email to another member which was hurtful.

We have shown our support for Marie and others who have gifted and will continue to be grateful to all the generous women here. We have shown how we feel about people who lack manners and courtesy.

Throwing hints and accusations is neither helpful or productive and when misdirected, hurtful. The person who did this to Marie and those who have been rude in the past know who they are and have to live with themselves.

Lets show what ladies we can be and move on now.

    Ok, you're absolutely right!

  14. Goin' old school - and country here - but there was an Ed Bruce song that has stuck with me "There's girls, there's women, and there's ladies." No, it's not grammatically correct, but it's so true. I strive to be a "lady." I fall short sometimes - I have, at times, what can be referred to as a potty mouth. I like to giggle and cut up and laugh at things some may find inappropriate - kind of a girl feature, I guess, but it helps when your days are spent with 1200-plus people all under the age of 12. And I can be catty - a woman characteristic, I suppose. But above all, I hope I'm a lady.

I do know I would NEVER conduct myself like these gals I've been reading about who've shown their true colors to Marie or any other "ladies."

That said, I got an email when I turned on my computer this morning asking me if I "was the *(%&($" who emailed a nasty note to Marie. While I hesitate to even give that nonsense airtime, if one person wonders that, perhaps someone else might. I know curiosity is running rampant, and I guess it's been narrowed down to someone who's a size 12 and who posted after Marie posted about the email. Let me assure you, I am not, have not, and would not EVER, under any circumstances do such a thing. While it's really no one's business but mine and the person who so graciously has given me things, here's my recycling loot to date: Marie has given me a GORGEOUS Michael Kors handbag and a pair of Badgley Mischka shoes that I'll be proudly wearing in my wedding June 15. I've been given a pair of earrings from Shorbr and Lisa is sending me her chocolate brown dress. Marie offered me a pair of GORGEOUS Jimmy Choo shoes I'd never, in a million years, be able to afford, and I graciously declined, explaining that I wouldn't feel right taking such an extravagant gift because the heel would more than likely be too high for me. How I've thanked these women for their kindness is between them and me.

I've enjoyed the banter and "sisterhood" in this thread as much as I've enjoyed the gorgeous clothes, shoes, handbags and such I've seen posted here. It tickles me when I see one of you score a gorgeous dress .... and if my wedding doesn't get here soon, I'm going to lose enough weight, I might be clawing right there alongside you for one of Marie's dresses! For every post you see from me, there's as many personal emails sent back and forth. I have come to know these and other ladies as dear friends.

There's another word that goes in the "girls, women, ladies" line - and there's one among us. She works anonymously ... the email address isn't one I've been able to find on CC ... And she's going to push me too far. I hope this one bad apple doesn't ruin this thread for all of us. Not just for the clothes - that's completely secondary to the conversations I've enjoyed with you all. It truly has been like sitting down with a cup of coffee and chatting with so many of you. But this chick, she's gonna chap me. And then my friends, it's on.

Judy...how someone could even ask such a thing is so beyond me...I can't even breathe...You are absolutely one of the most appreciative women here and I feel so humbled that you count me as your 'friend'.

But on the funny side of things, if you keep on losing all that weight, you will be sure to fit into one of Marie's dresses. Like you mentioned yesterday, it would be so nice to one day get together and plan something and wear something that we had recycled to us, and sit down with some nice wine.

BUT, don't allow that person to have power over you...ignore the dreck...that is a word my husband and I use to describe an ignorant person, and one who has no class. Her day is coming and it is coming fast. And I feel I know exactly who it is...tee hee

  15. That's ok...I get totally swamped and forget to do things too. :D

Check your email...I am pretty sure I deleted the one with your home address from before... :o

    Lisa

Thanks Lisa. I will try to wear it well...I responded to your e-mail :) You are a sweet person and I appreciate that.

Did I mention before that my husband loves my new gown? Now to find the shoes...lol
