Yes,they have ,however,would you agree with me that the 50’s to the mid 70’s was a great time .In 1963 I was dating a woman living in the Bronx.
On nearly every Saturday night I boarded the subway near her residence at about 1AM and took IRT subway to the last stop in Brooklyn .There was no fear of being mugged.
I graduated college with a dual major of Psychology and Sociology.I minored in English with a concentration in Literature.When I was in my senior year of college I went to the placement office to look for post graduate employment.There was a listing for a health insurance company that was hiring grads who majored in Psychology to work in their Industrial Psychology Department.I applied for the job and spent 38 years working in Health Insurance.
We did a two week tour of Alaska through HAL.The first week was a tour of various cities by bus and train. The second week was a cruise.
The highlight for us was Denali National Park.

I have been to 6 school reunions .People who grew up in Brooklyn were living all over the world .They all spoke about missing Brooklyn but loved where they were now living.

For some reason I never ate lobster.On a cruise about 10 years ago there were many variations of lobster on the menu.My table mates could not believe that I never ate lobster.
I tried and liked everything.
I too was a camp counselor many years ago and found myself eating foods that I would not normally eat.Aside from that working in the camp was a wonderful experience.My group was 12 and 13 year old boys.
Several years ago I was on a cruise and saw a guy who resembled a kid who was in my camp group.I approached and inquired if he was Joel .
Indeed ,he was.
I called my son in law Eric to wish him a Happy Birthday.He is at their upstate NY house this week.The predicted weather for Friday is minus 18 degrees.Where I am it will be 5 above.
