  1. Should we run into this again at the San Diego cruise pier ,we will seek a supervisor .It was less than comfortable pulling a carry on behind my scooter onto the ship with so many boarding at one ttime
  2. 3 hours is a very long time ,when we boarded the handicap people did not board first either.
  3. Wonder if any one went to a supervisor & told them about the priority boarding procedures ? Yes ,the last tome cruise on Koningsdam Dec 2022 .I was in my electric scoter going to a fully accessable balcony & there was no priority for the handicapped wither ,at that voarding .
  4. Agree it seems to be a struggle for them . We have come to the understanding enjoy what they give in music walk & the occasional show
  5. We had for got that handicap people board first . We do have club Orange as well & that is food information that you all posted
  6. Thanks every one for your answers .We are boarding late Han 2024 in San Diego for Hawaii with Club Orange .Seems then arriving by 11 AM we should be aboard not later than Noon & perhaps the cabins will be ready by then & we can drop off the carry ons & go to the MDR . BTW ,my wife may need a wheel chair because she has one bad leg & I use a electric scooter ,so will that even get us on sooner being handicapped ,We always book a full handicap stateroom
  7. Thanks for your answers , We board in San Diego for a late Han 2024 Hawaii cruise . Thanks ,Yes we have read that the boarding tries to have all the pas go to the lido buffet lbut ,the MDR was open as well ;which makes sense
  8. Because this Club Orange gives priority boarding as a perk ,how fast will that realistically get us on board & what time should we be at the pier ,to get that priority boarding .We like to have lunch in the MDR or be in the Mariner lunch if they have one TIA
  9. The Jan 2025 is a new booking .The Oct 2024 we had booked but our TA can refare it as a new booking , no changes
  10. We got the HAL credit card ,We will put on $500 & get the $200 credit & then not use it because the pay back is not worth it .We have other credit cards which are far better for travel
  11. We are interested in the Koningsdam last Hawaii cruise
  12. Does any one have a recent dinner menu for Koningsdam ? TIA
  13. We just got the $200 added to our Jan 2025 Hawaii cruise & we refared the October 2024 cruise to get another $200 in AARP on board credits add to those we will get the $250 each cruise in the owner ship of the 100 shares of CCL stock & the extra OBCs that the Travel Agent gives to us.We take thise credits & use them for special restaurants ,some drinks no wifi we are on vacation . Every so often we may take a HAL your if it one we like
  14. FWIW on a Royal Caribbean Ship you can order a steak from the special restaurant to the MDR at a up charge .A sale us a sale . Also there are many people who will not go into the special restaurants even if they can afford to go
  15. e understand that concern ;however ,not every one my age is a invalid or worse .I personally exercise every day & have a decent diet .so I am in good shape .Oy is my wife who can walk but has a bad knee ,she can't fly because she has a ear problem ;other wise would go to the Caribbean ;where there are many cruises . what we do have is many years of experience . We will never let technology stop us .. We got the approval because we did face time on our Cell phones & our grandson told us what steps to tale . He is a grad student a SDSU in Cyber Security . I like to add we have America Grit which sadly is not part of our society as a whole today
  16. All you need do is pay a part of the cruise with that Credit card & then the cruise is covered ,check it out
  17. With Us ,the cruise dock is very close to home . We love the ambiance pf Kpningsdam , The cabin size is best ,the food is generally good . We have adapted to the Holland style of entertainment .The cruises that we can take ,the port stops are very good . We do not need to fly to cruise
  18. We are now certified for the AARP $200 on board credit . all credit goes to our 23 year old grand son .He walked us through one step .at a time . Holland came back & said "verified" now that is behind us . We just booked a new 2025 Hawaii cruise where that applies The 2024 Hawaii cruise & our 14 day West Coat/ Mexico cruises were booked prior to the promotion & do not qualify
  19. We booked out to Jan 2025 on todays dollars because we do not know what the prices will be iin 2024 for any thing . when retired can't take too much risk either to add cash . Yes there is always hope for the future . Yet cruising is a luxury we all have & hope to enjoy in the future
  20. Yes & that is a 25% hike .No way will wages keep up & the American public knows this for sure . so there is also the price pressure from any wage increases .All out savings is getting hit hard for future buying power . Older people forced back into the work force ,if they can find work ,Sad what has happened in our country
  21. Cruise lines always keep in mind the all inclusive land packages .At some point prices may out strip the demand .Thus ,the cruise lines can not keep aimlessly raise prices .They must know their market & how much they can raise prices with out loosing volume. If cruising costs too much then the reverse can happen ,Realistically , these are more Americans living pay check to pay check these days because of 16 % past inflation .Salaries in general have not kept up . so that means cruise lines have to take all these facts into consideration when pricing their products
  22. PS our adult grand children will graciously do this for us in Sept when they visit . and if we even lost the $200 no big deal . I couldn't do a new download when Princess changed their format to Ocean Ready & not on line like HAL does .So ,We called & called for over 6 hours No one from Princess was able to help us . so We decided not to use a $ 975 FCC , & not to cruise on that line .Seems to me making it all high tech mostly rules out my generation ,in fact many of my generation do not even use computers ,They prefer snail mail .The end result ,that age group just does not cruise where it is too hard to get their cruise docs . so they spend their monies else where ,simple solution
  23. Gotta love those people who know all the answers . Then comes a day when the shoe is on their foot & then oops .Show me those who knows "all" the answers ? .One thing I learned in 84 years is not to assume any thing .
