  1. So you did not see long lines for the MDR ? or Delays in dinner service or smaller portions ie?
  2. We never talked to any hotel manager .Besides we are interested in what the passengers think which is more to the truth of this matter
  3. On Koningsdam Dec 2022 we had the worse service & food on a HAL ship ever . Short staffing & cut backs in both quality & quantity were definitely obvious to us for 12 days . Now ,we hope that people can give us better reports who are on or recent HAL cruises .So what is your experience now with regards to adequate staffing/service & the quantities & quality of the food in general except the special restaurants? TIA
  4. Even though we are looking dow on a life boat on deck 5 on Koningsdam handicap balcony ,it is better than Deck 8 handicap because the lifo & other activities are right above you .Thus the possibility of noises is always there
  5. Nice article on the cruise industry .Always a test of time to see how this all works out ,in the end if year financials of CCL & RCL . I never followed Norwegian 's numbers
  6. We have done river cruises & that deal you got from viking was excellent .We agree that $3200 even for a balcony cabin on a Caribbean cruise is way too high ,especially on a HAL ship . You also need to be aware of spring breakers now . Our adult daughter & her husband booked the Wonder of the Seas for April 9th sailing .We have yet to hear about their experience but ,I do know that they did not pay any where near to $3200 for their ocean view balcony .That is a new mega ship by Royal Caribbean Cruise line
  7. imo cruise lines internets including Star link are not worth the money because they do not work all the time .The only HIA that had real value was when HAL included ppd gratuities .Unless you are a big alcohol drinker the package costs do not favor the average cruiser when you do the math
  8. All true & when we priced out the 7 night Mexican riviera cruise it was based on HAL's Advantage Fare almost $3000 for 2 pax vs the same cruise in 2019 At $1700 for 2 pax ,The is a huge price increase & imo certainly not a good value
  9. We will see by year end the real bottom line ,so to speak . These very high prices & simultaneous cut backs just will not expand the customer base
  10. Now why wouldn't a CEO use the best info , However ,what about the rest of this years bookings .Wave season is not all year long .A true picture will be year end .Reason I say this is because most new booking prices are very high while the lines cut back staff , food selection & food quality. Also no more twice daily cabin service ,no towel animals & no chocolates ie ,Minor but what else have the cruise lines cut
  11. My post is i response to those people who say that bookings are flying off the wall . If that was so true the stocks would reflect that growth
  12. you are 1000c% correct . $3200 is way too much if it is a balcony non suite price for the Caribbean
  13. Seems to me that if Carnival ,Royal Carribean & Norwegian cruise lines were doing so spectacular in their bookings ,prices & profits their stocks prices would be zooming ;but ,that simply is not the case
  14. The helicopter ride is awesome . Now that is unique
  15. Out of the ordinary or unique type activities
  16. Has any one done unusual things while visiting the islands in Hawaii ?
  17. No hit & run .The op simply did not understand my post .I subsequently clarified it ,see above
  18. The refundable is the fact that that cruise price is HALs refundable price .Non Refundable is lower priced at less than the $2988 total price of a refundable cruise price .It had nothing to do with what the amount of the deposit was which in that pricing case is also refundable ;but ,only because of the higher pricing quoted.
  19. Here is my original post : We were speaking to HAL today ,With regards to a March 23 ,2024 Mexican Riviera cruise on koningsdam .Shocked to learn that a refundable deposit on a VH cat handicap with Club Orange for upgrade was $2988 for 2 refundable deposit cruise fares .The Club Orange added a total of $350 to the over all cost . Port taxes are $135 per pax included in the dare above. No on board credit In 2019 that cruise would have been about $1700 for 2 people .Taking off Club Orange at $25 per day per person ,the fare comes down to $2638 . $ 938,00 more than we once paid. That is a rather substantial increase in a cruise fare Now that $2988 was a price for 2 in a veranda VH for a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise. The fares were a refundable pricing. If we wanted to upgrade with club orange the cost per person was $25 per day or $350 total for the cruise . What I was comparing to was 2019 prices for the same 7 night Mexican riviera cruise on Koningsdam & the whopping price increases I don't get were you are coming from .The whole issue is very very high prices on new cruises introduced by HAL .The only way we can afford to go will be on substantial decreased prices after final payment & a cabin selection we can tolerate . The percent increase is huge in 3 years far exceeding the inflation rates for those 3 years .
  20. That is a lot of money going into a slot machine which is a computer . These are the bandits that take up the mist square feet in any casino on land or at sea .The reason is that they make the biggest contributions to the casino .The best game on any casino is the dice table which gives true odds & a easy game to play .so the casino entices people to play the slots where they make the most profits .
  21. Celebrity gave us both discounted rates plus ppd gratuities The Classic drink package & free Wifi on B2B cruises .This was a blue Chip Deal ,theRCL/Celebrity Casino dept
  22. what are you & them talking about .I am here & willing to answer all inquiries . I been here all the time & those comments are un called for . I do not duck issues of any kind, so please state what you want to discuss ? I still maintain that HAL's initial cruise prices are far too high for the value received if you buy from them . We are now totally convinced we will only book after final payment if we can get a suitable cabin ,at lower prices .being retired has it's advantages . We will definitely book on a cruise if possible & it is after final payment for the new cruise .We are not interested in paying Carnival Corp. debt load
