  1. The red Pub food is there a charge?

I found a menu that has no prices on it

i didn't get around to eating there but i did flip through the menu one night and if i remember right the food was $3.33. i wanted to try the wings but never got around to it. the thirsty frog IPA (i believe they called it an APA) was very good. it had a hint of grapefruit. you could also order food in the sports bar i think it was wings, or personal pizza.

  2. Thanks for your review!

You mentioned small fires, did they say where? That is a little concerning. I have never been on a ship with a fire of any kind.

the first one was on the first night and i don't think it was confirmed as a fire. the captain said it was a report of smoke from a trash can but no fire. the second one was i believe the last sea day and i really couldn't understand what he was saying during the announcement. but i thought it was good to keep everyone aware and not in the dark.

  3. i was also on this cruise. i was also on the bob marley experience tour. not sure if i was on the same bus as you. we were on the 3rd and last bus of the day. the tour was okay. i thought it would be better. it was so crowded and rushed i couldn't even hear what the guide was saying because the buildings were so small that the line of people in the group would go outside while he was inside talking. it is unfortunately really a tourist grab. that is definitely an excursion you need to read the fine print and the reviews. any excursion that states you need to be 18yrs old should set off alarms. our guide on the bus was great as was the bus driver. it went down hill at the 9 mile facility. i did go with the full experience. it was definitely overpriced outside.

  4. Which nights were elegant nights? And which was white night?

i did the 6 day western Caribbean itinerary. so the first elegant night was on the 2nd night which was a sea day. the second elegant night was on the 4th night which was when we were in grand cayman. i did not go to the white party but i believe it was on the 3rd day the day we were in jamaica. i remember a lot of people with the white sticks that light up that night.

  5. Can you compare the Casino to the Dream class? Size/slot variety? Thanks.

the casino seemed small. maybe it was the layout of it. if you walk through along the pathway you have a few tables on one side and some slot machines. then on the other side you have a round bar and the rest of the casino. i did play craps one night and the table was crowded. the slot machines seemed like they had a lot of new machines. we played a wonder woman slot machine which i have not seen before. i did notice they had the wheel of fortune machines which i like. and also i saw the wolfs run machine which is one of my favorites. then they have 3 of the cash machines. one was the key through the slot which i played. one was the dollar sign going through the maze, and the other was the claw machine. there is no poker table in the casino. it is down the hall in the sports bar which i found kind of weird. it was the normal poker pro video style game.

  6. I've read in some reviews that there was supposed to be a mini-fridge in every room. It says it's empty so you cans tore what you like. Is this accurate?

yes in my cabin there was a mini fridge and it was empty. it even looked like you could adjust the temperature. i had the cheers package and often got bottled water and vitamin water at the coffee shop and would keep them in the fridge.

  7. Were there any themed parties on the cruise? Did you happen to take pics of the menus or the funtimes? we are doing this itinerary for our cruise in September for a friends wedding

i know they had the white party. they also had the sail away party. i think they had an Australian day party. one night i saw everyone walking around with bandanas it had something to do with one of the shows. i didn't take any pictures of the menus or funtimes.

  8. Thanks for doing this!

    What movies were on?

Hoping to catch LaLa Land :)

in the imax i know they had star wars, and xxx playing at night. not sure during the day. they have a nice little concession stand with lots of movie candy that costs 3.50. the popcorn is in individual bags like you buy in the store. they also sell beer. i went to the thrill theater to see the horror themed one that came on at 10:30 at night. it was 3 short films totaling about 18 minutes. the first 2 movies were animated like a video game on PS4 or XBOX. first one was Frankenstein and the second was a haunted house. the third and best one was Friday the 13th which showed actual clips from all the movies. the thrill theater is incredible and well worth the $5.50.

  9. Did you do anytime dining? If so how did it go?

I did do any time dining. But I only ate in the dining room on the first elegant night so I could have the lobster [emoji3]. On the vista if you have any time dining you have to check in on the 5th floor next to the coffee shop. I saw that the line can get long there. I'm not sure what they do at the check in, I guess they give u a time to go down to the restaurant. If you are platinum or above you go to the restaurant and check in. On the night I went we checked in at the restaurant and were given a buzzer and we're told it would be 30 minutes. Sat at the bar inside the restaurant and waited exactly 30 minutes.

  10. Thank you. Any coffee served at Havana Bar or any muchies?

I read there was in the morning but I never went in the morning. I just went to the coffee bar that was right around the corner. Also the taste bar that is right around the dance floor next to coffee shop had a full breakfast in the morning on port days. Made it convenient in the morning when getting off the ship.

i went to the dining room on the lobster night and then went to the specialty restaurants. we did go to the Italian restaurant for lunch and it was very good. i didn't get to the barbeque place but it looked really good. everyone i talked to said it was excellent. it is open on the first day and on sea days. it is on deck 5 right outside across from the coffee bar. it states it opens at noon but it always opened early at 11:30. the lines would form but move fast.

  12. We are booked on the Horizon in a Havana interior. Originally had 5211 (opposite side of 5214) and read you could hear the band from the Havana Bar, so I switched to 5205, which is the first cabin, sideways by the elevator. I read there was no noise from band or elevator. Did you hear the band in 5214 and did see what the interior looks like in the sideways cabin. Also is anything served at the bar and could you get coffee there?

we didn't really hear the band in our room. if i was in the bathroom i could hear them a little bit, but not really in the rest of the room. i did walk by the sideways room when they were cleaning it and it did look weird. the bed seemed like it was right there when you walked in. then the room continued to the right but i couldn't see much of that.

  13. What was your favorite and least favorite things about the ship?

favorite part was the havana pool area. spent all day there.

least favorite part was the rudeness of the red frog staff. it is my favorite bar on the ship and the staff all 3 bartenders were in the game room playing foos ball all night. they were yelling and screaming and slamming the table on the ground. at one point a customer playing on the other foos ball table hit his ball by accident towards them and they picked up and rudely threw back at them. they never offered anyone a drink and just played on the game. it felt like i was watching 12 yr olds playing the way the were carrying on and yelling it was ridiculous. you could see the disgust on the other staff members faces as they walked through. at one point the bartender walked back and i thought he was going to say something to them but he got on the table and did the same thing. the 2 nights i went in there it was the same thing. we did not go back.

  14. Thank you.

What did you have planned for ocho rios, Cozumel and Grand Cayman? Any excursions?

I was thinking about just seeing what is close to the port.

Happen to have any fun times?

ocho rios we did the bob marley experience which was okay i thought it could be better.

grand cayman we rented a beach cabana at the royal palms beach club. the beach was good. i think the service should have been better. it advertised a dedicated server for the cabana areas and this was not the case. the server was also taking orders from everyone on the beach and renting lounge chairs and umbrellas. the food was good though.

cozumel we just walked around and bought some tequila. we also walked around the outside area and bought some souvenirs.

  15. Thank you, I leave in about a month.

How was the steakhouse? Good service? What did you and others in your group have to eat?

How was service in the dining room? Did you have assigned or anytime dining?

Did you go to any comedy shows? How were they?

Did you go to the piano bar? who was the entertainer and did you like?

Lastly, what time did disembarkation start?

    Thanks!

Thank you, I leave in about a month.

How was the steakhouse? Good service? What did you and others in your group have to eat?

the steakhouse was incredible with great service. on the vista i would make reservations before hand as it can get hard to get a reservation once on board. i had the escargot which was incredible as an appetizer. i had the warm spinach salad which i love. for the main dish i had the spiced rib eye with the baked potato and for desert i had the chocolate sampler. my wife had the grilled portobello mushroom appetizer, with the same salad. she had the filet mignon. and for desert she had the cheese sampler. we go to the steakhouse every cruise and always seem to get the same thing because it is so good.

How was service in the dining room? Did you have assigned or anytime dining?

we had anytime dining but only ate at the dining room on the first elegant night for the lobster tail. the service was actually very good that one night and food was good. i had 3 lobster tails. my wife had the indian vegetarian dinner. both were very good. we skipped the dessert. we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated at a table for 2 so we sat at the bar inside the restaurant to be seated. this bar feature was nice.

Did you go to any comedy shows? How were they?

didn't make it to any shows on the ship we like to go to the bars. but we heard the comedy show was good.

Did you go to the piano bar? who was the entertainer and did you like?

we love the piano bar and went the first night and the player Natalie from Australia was very good. the first night the singers 3 of them from the band velvet vibes(which were very good) came in after their band set and they along with Natalie took turns singing and playing on the piano. it was like an impromptu all star show and was incredible. but the next night Natalie got sick and lost her voice and the bar was closed until the last night when she came back to play. she was still sick but didn't want to let everyone down. she said carnival was bringing aboard another piano player the day we got off so she can take a week or two off to fully get her voice back.

Lastly, what time did disembarkation start?

we had a late flight and have platinum status so we didn't really pay attention to what the times were on the sheet they gave out. i know i got up at 7am and could hear the cruise director start disembarkation on the over head. we left the room at 8 am and ate breakfast in the dining room then walked off around 9:30.

    Thanks!
