  1. It is a cloud 9 spa with all the same amenities, but just in a more cramped space and not arranged as wonderfully as on the Dream Class ships. If you have not been on a dream class ship and had cloud 9 access, you will lie what is there, but not if you have the others to compare it to in your mind! There is no Thassalo Therapy pool but a much smaller jetted hot tub in the same room as the heated loungers which takes the ambiance away from both areas.

  2. Ok but I saw this on Cruisemapper

Carnival Cruise Line offers plenty of choices for stateroom dining. A pilot program, originally on*Carnival Imagination,*Carnival Pride*and*Carnival Conquest*in 2015, has been expanded fleet-wide. It made premium items available for up to US$6. These include such offerings like shrimp, chicken wings, quesadillas, cheesesteaks, pizza.*Carnival Cruise Line joined NCL Norwegian which also charges a flat US$7.95 per order and Royal Caribbean which charges for some items. However, Carnival premium items, including sushi on cruise ships with a Bonsai dining venue, are offered in addition to such that remain complimentary. A wide range of items aboard Carnival Cruise Line's ships are still available at no charge, such as three salad choices, seven different hot and cold sandwiches, three desserts, eight beverages, and a Continental breakfast menu.According to the company, the expanded room service menu was designed to broaden and upgrade the culinary choices available for in-room delivery. A wide range of complimentary choices was still available, and the new fee-based options were simply intended to create greater choice and variety.Since 2016, Carnival has a new room service menu (still featuring free items - salads, cold sandwiches, breakfast selections, desserts) but also charges from US$ 1,50 to US$6 for some items (including quesadillas, shrimp, chicken wings /*tenders, pizzas, cheesesteaks, fries).Carnival Cruise Menus

BUT YOUR SOURCE is incorrect. There is no surcharge on Carnival for room service, there are for pay items and you should include a tip for the person delivering the food to you, but no surcharge attached.

  3. I sail with a passport and usually out of Galveston - I travel on a scooter so I always get a porter to help with bags (a wonderful $10 investment) - he takes me and the luggage directly to a passport only line - which is general 1/10th the length of the line of those without a passport - I just zip right through.

  4. Your phone will change to the time zone you are sailing through not the original zone you sailed from. Buy yourself a cheap watch and set it to the time on the ship so you will always know when sailing is going to take place. I have a kids battery powered watch attached to my back pack with my ship's time set so I will always know. The internet package won't help you. Perhaps your phone has a place in the settings to stay on "home" time.

  5. You're best to just contact the companies directly and ask that question. CareVactions used to have kiosks at a couple ports prior to Scooteraround acquiring them. SpecialNeedsatSeas also use to have kiosks a selected ports a few years ago but don't know which ports .

Both companies will deliver to the hotel if a pre-cruise stay is planned., If this is case your will have to arrange transportation to the port but that shouldn't be an issue as Miami does have accessible cabs

I have contacted both companies, but have not received any replies - guess I need to call them. I was just hoping the kiosks were still there. I usually have my own scooter when sailing out of my own home port, but I am not taking it to Miami - too many transportation hassles. We are flying into Ft Lauderdale the day before so transportation was too difficult to arrange for our group. (too many of us for an accessible ride)

  6. A friend and I are on the Vista out of Miami and need to rent two scooters. I had heard that one of the companies had a kiosk set up to pick up your scooter before boarding. Anyone know if that is still true?

and before the blazing begins, yes we have an accessible cabin - my friend is renting for the first time as her pulmonologist has ordered her to have an oxygen concentrator at all times so carrying her business will become a problem at boarding. Luckily we are traveling with others who can help, but easy boarding would be great!

  7. I am not sure about something. I was able to pick our check in time online, but I was not sure if check in was the same as boarding. does my time mean I will be able to check in at 11:30 then board, or will we have to sit around and wait?

On our March cruise, we had 4 cabins and had little ones in one cabin. We bought FTTF for that cabin so we could put all the carryons down and then we sorted to the other cabins after we had access to all of them. We all had 10:30 check in time so we all went on board together.

  8. The 8 year old will be fine in the bunk, it has a safety rail. My grandson's ages 12 and 5 slept on bunks and my 3yo slept on a trundle with 5 in an interior room on the Triumph - cozy, but they could all care less - Nana was picking up the tab for the cruise for my daughter, husband and kids!

  9. Haven't tried those wings yet. Perhaps on my 4 day I will give them a go.

Also forgot to try the tacos at the Blue Iguna as well. Lots to look forward to I suppose.

My favorite breakfast and one of the quickest is on the taco side of the blue iguana (not the long burrito line) - try an arepas and have them prepare you some huevos rancheros with a fresh cooked over medium egg on top! Every morning I could have had this if the Sea Day brunch wasn't also calling my name.

  10. I would expect that you will all be seated together without others at your table without making a request as long as your cabins and reservations are linked together. Your travel agent or PVP or Carnival can do that for you and should be done prior to sailing if possible. The request for a window may or may not be granted depending on the layout of the dining room. Most that I have been on have tables for 2 or 4 in front of the windows with the larger tables more centrally located in the room or in the upper level near the entrances.

  11. This is simply wrong information. Shareholder OBC and booking on-board OBC have always followed the booking number. Perhaps you've neither qualified for either or have never understood what you signed.

In either event you are wrong.

This information is correct, however, I believe the scenario the OP is talking about is: He booked under a category that allowed him OBC as a "reward" for booking during a sale. Then found a rate for the same cabin that was cheaper but the sale was no longer on. In that case, indeed, he would lose the OBC received from the original sale booking. The price drop needs to be more than the OBC in order to result in a net profit. This has always been true.

Just re-read the OP, he would indeed keep the $100 and needs to remind the booking agent of that when finding a price drop.

  12. We have done the excursion where you stood on a platform for most of the interaction and the movement in the water pushes and pulls you around and you have to hang on to the fence behind you sometimes to keep from being thrown off balance. There was a lot of bodily movement even when you were not the one interacting with the dolphins but others in your party were. Lots of waves in the pool.

  13. I, also think 5 in an interior on that class of ship is two twin beds, two bunks and a roll away or a trundle that sits just a few inches off the floor. We went on a cheap all family trip in March on the Triumph and my daughter, her husband and three kids had that set up - the 3 year old had the trundle. Grandma either gets one of the twin beds or has to hoist her petard up the ladder to a bunk bed. They were all happy as pigs in mud because I picked up the tab for most of the trip for both of my kids families as their Christmas gift.
