  1. First I stop at Good Times for a beer and Clamato and a snack from the IC, then since I already know where my Muster station is I swing by there then head to the cabin to meet my Steward and unpack while watching the video.

Head to the casino to meet the hosts then up to Sky Walkers for sail away, then Vines and dinner.

    Can't wait!

Same for me.  For our 3 booked (1 that leaves in 3 1/2 weeks)the app says Premier and I know I only paid for Plus.  Asked my TA what is going on thinking she upgraded us but no; she doesn't know why either.

Would be nice if they honored it.

    Karen

I'll find out on Tuesday but I expect when I board mine will revert back to Plus.  Otherwise the lines at Guest Service will be a mile long with passengers insisting they have Premier when they really don't.

The experience of the app is night and day difference before and then during a cruise.

It sure is.  I am in Canada and today I have a checkmark that shows I've chosen to have my medallion shipped to the port, that was gone for weeks now its back.

I know I don't need it or the bar code but it is updating on its own timeline as usual 😀

    Yes, per guest.

    Then you have Princess Plus.

My Summary does not list the casual dining, or any of the other additions.  Those are listed in my App under Packages.  Which like many others is wrong because it says I have the Premier package for my cruise next week, which I don't.  Yet.  But I do have the Premier for one of my cruises.

The Medallion Net is correct for my cruise on Tuesday it shows I have 1 device.  For my next cruise which I upgraded it says I have 4 which is also correct.

And I guess you've deleted cookies, uninstalled and reinstalled, turned it off for a few hours made sure all updates are current?  You have your screen shot of the plan you purchased or were gifted?  Then you should be good to go.

Its just wonky and frustrating, but honestly I love it once onboard.

Thank you. My issue is that the app says No package. In the app cruise personalizer it says I have the Plus with the new items as well. In the desktop cruise personalizer under Onboard Services it does list the items (as you say) butn9t the package name, nor any of the new items (Should it? Who knows!!!) In summary, inconsistent info everywhere. As CaptainPedantic replied, everything  was OK once onboard. So, we will wait.

If you select Medallion Net in the app does it show 1 device?

  6. I’ve had a Canada/Us plan for years with no issues.  I use Facebook messenger and FaceTime to keep in touch with family.
My plan covers Hawaii but not Alaska, so if Hawaii is your destination maybe double check with your provider to make sure you will be covered.

Port days I make sure I am connected to a tower before making calls etc and enable the ships wifi about an hour or so before departure.

I have an older smartphone and occasionally after getting off the ship in ports I have to turn my phone off and on to order an Uber might be just a me issue though.

I am with Telus and asked if I could use wifi calling and was told no, so you may want to confirm you will be able to.

  7. We love Long Beach airport but just a heads up if you are checking bags you have to exit the terminal and pick them up off the conveyor outside.

There are luggage carts available I just don't know how far they extend the wheel chair assistance.  We are not at that point yet, but I grab our bags and then wait for my husband to catch up near the street where we then go and grab our Uber.

Fantastic !  Just one question, by « starting Sept 25 » does that mean I can only order after then or does it mean I can order now for any cruise after that date ?

Formal announcement coming soon so more information to come.
I have a cruise in October so will wait and try canceling the order and opt to have it shipped.

Great news, Medallion Delivery for Canada!

Exciting news for our Canadian guests! Beginning on September 25, pre-cruise Medallion shipping is available for those residing in Canada. Now, guests from the U.S. and Canada have a variety of options to have their medallion delivered pre-cruise. Those who purchase the Princess Plus and Princess Premier add-on packages receive free Medallion delivery, or guests can also arrange for shipping of their Medallion for a fee of $15 per household to Canada ($10 per household to the US). The expansion of pre-cruise Medallion shipping will continue—coming soon to Australia and the UK.

So far all my cruises have Princess Plus so free to me.

  10. The Premier package never interested me until they enhanced it.  I have already upgraded one of my upcoming cruises and being solo the upcharge was worth it to me.  I have already made my specialty restaurant reservations, the app cooperated and I was not charged so I count that as a win.

My next cruise is in 15 days and because I have their insurance I will wait until I board to upgrade

being Canadian there is the extra extra factor.

Looking forward to trying some new to me cocktails and Vines has a wine listed and a charcuterie platter I would like to try at least once.  Salty Dog Gastropub also has some options I'd like to try and being this is a 10 day cruise I won't need to feel like I am cramming these in.

I also use room service mornings and most evenings so one less thing to worry about.

I get that the packages are not for everyone nor are they designed to be but I intend to make full use of mine and yes even have at least one specialty dessert and maybe a slice of cake.  YOLO lol.

We’re on Crown right now in R746. There are definitely people staying in R748 and R750 which are aft facing balcony cabins. I remember when we made our reservations last year that a notice came up asking if our cruise was before or after a certain so it could give us the correct deck plan. I don’t remember the date. We love our triangular shaped balcony—very spacious.

I had that cabin once and loved it, out the door and at the pool, bar and buffet.  Spent a lot of time at the table on the rail watching the wake.  Views of Alaska were amazing!

  12. App  is having issues, and most people are reporting the same thing.  I'd give it a few days and try again.

Mine shows I haven't ordered it but when I go into there I can see that it was ordered and correctly states I'm picking it up at the port.

My cruises were all booked through the casino until recently and now I book my own online.  I do get an updated booking confirmation each time they apply my SBC which is one of the benefits of booking directly.
Everything shows up in my personalizer or in the onboard credits under booked guests.

For new cruisers though it can be difficult to find where the information is located.

Glad they got it all sorted out and can relax and enjoy their cruise.

Sorry SBC should read shareholder credit.

It is easy to monitor for SOBC or MOBC to be posted as you just need to check for Onboard Credits in the Payments section of the Cruise Personalizer, or check the Travel Summary.

I don't get an email notice of applied SOBC, and I don't think my TA does either.  They do get an alert when account dollars changes and then forward an email.  I don't recall getting a notice when SOBC applied.  But I might be wrong.  IDC anyway as I just check it myself.

  15. Have they checked their emails?  When I receive my shareholder credit they said a new booking confirmation showing it’s been applied.  It’s a very generic line item just says onboard credit and the amount.

If they booked any excursions prior to getting on the ship they will use their onboard credits to cover them.

Tip for you - and anyone else.

Before pasting in a photo or video capture, hit the Enter key 2-3 times to create some blank lines.

Then, move cursor to top again and paste.  Or, type text and hit extra Enter key strokes to create blanks lines.

The blank lines will follow the pasted item and you can move cursor (mouse point) to the blank lines that are at the end and carry on typing more text.

Thanks for that I’ll remember for next time.

No if you mean checking these type of bags on the dock so the dock crew  can load them onto the ship. I would carry that size bag on myself.

I was trying to recall if I'd ever seen anything like it in the hall after boarding and couldn’t remember.  I’ll carry it on and at least my small purse can go inside so just one item to look after.

    Thanks!
