  1. There is not much incentive for me to be Elite Plus if the internet minutes is 200.
If they change to 400 minutes I may plan to cruise more to reach Elite Plus.
Never ever think I can be Zenith in my life time.
  2. Children of suite passengers have eaten in Blu on other ships.

AQ cabins generally do not have children but as far as I know the fee that used to be applied ($5/pp) is no longer applied just as the restriction on children.

When did they removed the $5/pp charge?

I have been leaving $10:00 on the table every time I finished my dinner.

  3. I work for one of the major travel insurance companies. With our company, you can purchase insurance for a particular cruise, and modify the policy to reflect new travel dates if your plans change. If you need (or think you need) coverage for pre-existing medical conditions, it must be purchased within the timeframe specified in the policy (typically 15 or 21 days) of when the first money was paid towards the trip, so if you pay a deposit, that's your first payment, even though it may not be for the trip you were originally planning on taking.

To qualify for the pre-ex waiver, you need to fully insure all nonrefundable prepaid trip costs. However, there's no need to insure the full cost of the cruise, just the deposit (and any other nonrefundable costs that have been paid prior to purchasing the policy). Subsequent nonrefundable prepaid trip costs, such as final payment, need to be added on to the policy within the same time frame as you had to purchase in the first place. That way, you don't have to pay a premium for a $6000 cruise when you end up changing it to a $4000 cruise.

Why insure a refundable deposit right away? Because of the timeframe that nonrefundable trip costs must be insured by to get pre-ex coverage, and that refundable deposit will become nonrefundable after final payment is due. The language refers to the date it's paid, not when it becomes nonrefundable. If you didn't insure it right away and had to cancel before final payment, you'll get the deposit back (assuming you don't roll it over to another cruise), but if you do go, that deposit would have needed to have been insured within the time frame.

Our company does allow a policy to be cancelled if the trip is cancelled. After 15 days, the credit would usually not be directly back to the credit card, but is in the form of a voucher that can be used within the next two years, and would be less the processing fee (less than $10). The voucher must be used in full-- if there's money left over after purchasing the next policy, the excess is forfeit. I think it's just better to keep rolling the policy over until you find a cruise (or other trip) that meets your needs.

Your Refundable and Nonrefundable got my head Spinning.:confused::confused:

  4. Be careful! Once you go transatlantic....its hard to do shorter cruises!

Only a couple of pieces of advice. Know the weight limit on whatever airline you fly so you know your luggage will be OK.

And check out Choice Air. They have great prices on one way fares across the pond for transatlantic cruises.

Be careful! Once you go transatlantic....its hard to do shorter cruises!

    Thats so true.

    What a big mistake I made 3 years back.:D:D:D

  5. We have not sailed since Celebrity has added new Elite Plus perks. We are wondering how do they handle the "Complimentary tea cappuccino, latte and espresso". We are aware of the Elite Captains Club Breakfast each morning, where we can get complimentary coffee's.

Can we now go to Cafe Bracchio anytime during the day and get the above mentioned coffee's for free? Is there anywhere else on the ship that offers the complimentary coffee's for Elite Plus? Does the benefit extend to coffee in MDR at lunch or dinner?

Input from anyone who has experience with this "latest perk" would be appreciated.

Went to Blu on the last night.the waiter won't give me complementary espresso.

I did got that free espresso at select dining and the Lawn Club Grill(twice).

  6. Do you know if tips are included in the drink vouchers when used during Captain Club Elite Happy Hour? We were recently on Eclipse and used vouchers but no one knew if tips were included or not. Called Captain Club desk and they did not know either. Thanks.

Did you pay for the vouchers?:D:D:D

  7. The Celebrity person my travel agent was talking to last night, is either in cloud cuckooland or the change has not filtered through yet! But again something is up as it has not appeared on the website yet, but people have booked it.

I have the brochure with me here

  8. Don't know, I have confirmed reservation for April 21 and I know the next cruise is already listed as leaving Southampton on May 7, which would make April 21, the correct depart for the TA on a 16 night cruise. Hope so anyway!!!

    I am on reflection now.

EC transatlantic is April 21st(16 night) and SI is April 19th(14 nights)

  9. The new suite resteraunt is only for Royal suites and higher. That still leaves a big gap between Aqua & Royal (inc all the Sky & Celebrity suites).

Restaurant is for all suites, only Michael's Club for Zeniths and Celebrity suites and above:confused:

  10. I can understand Celebrity's move to increase the perks offered to their suite guests. My family and I are booked in a Sky Suite for our April 2014 sailing. With less than 8 weeks to go, 7 of 8 Royal Suites, 3 of 5 Signature suites, and 6 of 8 Celebrity Suites are still available.

I'd consider upgrading if the price were right, but it's tough to justify spending thousands more for a little extra square footage but little difference in amenities.

Celebrity needs to consistently monetize these suites, and the popularity of the Aqua class has proven that their guests will pay more for the extra amenities.

This is what Celebrity is trying to do now, throw in extra perks to increase sales and improve margin.

  11. Hello

    So how does this work.

I currently have a cruise booked directly with Celebrity.

I have OnBoard credit & the beverage package which by my calculations on a 14 day cruise is worth just over a £1000 plus the £200 OnBoard credit so a total of £1200 approx.

So if the cruise price drops from the amount I agreed when I booked do I loose these benefits and my deposit if I ask them to book at the revised lower price

    Thanks

Everything will remain the same except the price drop.

  12. I think most people have no problem with the concept of 'pay more; get more'. I think what gets people's back up is when the 'get more' is taking away something that used to be available to the entire passenger contingent. To me, that is the main issue. Feel free to give people who pay a ton of money a lot of nice benefits to go with it - no problem. But when it means I lose something, then I do care, and I think I have a right to not like it. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, and whether it creates more crowds or poorer service for the masses

Celebrity is not a Charity organization. If in some sections like Bistro in Five doesn't generate any gain in revenue they have to close them down and think of ways to improve their business.

  13. One quirk of the new Captain's Club program is that, through reciprocity with RCI, a Diamond Crown & Anchor member can enjoy the benefits of Celebrity's elite program with fewer cruises than by sailing on Celebrity ships (depending on stateroom category).

For passengers sailing inside or ocean view cabins, 150 nights at sea would be required as opposed to 80 nights with RCI.

    Genius:D:D:D

  14. Don't count on it! We sailed Nov. 21 & just received word that we will receive tier credits so we miss Elite Plus by 2 points! Oh well, there are other cruise lines & we don't cruise for loyalty, do we?

    Quendryth (Faith):p

There should base on the old point system to calculate your points as the effective date was Nov. 25th.

  15. You keep talking about the "majority". What is your statistical basis for knowing how the "majority" feels or would feel? You are simply making assertions based on your own bias. That others might complain if Celebrity recognizes that people booked and paid for cruises in good faith prior to any announcement of a program is irrelevant to Celebrity doing the ethical thing. The only thing you've said that I can agree with is that Celebrity won't change. That message is as clear as can be. Only time will tell if Celebrity made the best decision to enhance their bottom line. I think we're seeing the tip of the iceberg and more enhancements to the bottom line are on the way.

I cant stand anymore 82 out of 247 was posted by this two person. The percentage is 33.198%
