  1. I'm a boozer who never does less than a 7 day sailing. Doing 10 in April. I hit the sack around 11pm and I'm up at 5:30 so I can go to the gym and then get my boozing started again. Rinse and repeat. Kind of like Groundhog Day! Lmao 😂 And I only drool while I'm drinking 🍻
  2. You asked why it's double the price and I told you, as most on here already have. You're not choosing between comparable cruises.
  3. As you and everyone else in this thread has proven, you're not comparing apples to apples. NCL has FAS, RCCL does not NCL has 2 more stops, RCCL does not NCL ship is 10 years newer NCL sailing is August, RCCL is end of September If none of this is important to you, then you should choose RCCL!!
  4. Lmao! I know I'm messing it up for myself. We went, at least, 3 times this past July on Joy. Sometimes for first breakfast, sometimes for 2nd!
  5. They definitely had the prime rib night on Joy in July. It was at the buffet and may have been at the Local too on the same night. These nights were posted in the dailies and I've since seen them in dailies for a recent Getaway sailing too.
  6. A few days ago my wife told me that she saw on FB that some people on our sailing in April had already received an upgrade advantage email. I looked for a couple of days and didn't receive anything. I even looked in my spam folder. Nothing. I just thought we weren't getting an offer to bid as I've read sometimes happens. Yesterday, my daughter (who's sailing with us in April) was on the NCL app looking at the new American Diner menu and clicked on room upgrades and saw that we had availability to bid. This is good news as I had a successful attempt this past July on Joy and it was a good experience. I've now entered a couple of bids and I'll wait patiently to see how it goes. My point is that if you don't receive an email and your interested in bidding for an upgrade, you might want to manually look and see if it's available for you. 106 Days!!
  7. Yep. As I said previously here, there's always been a complimentary small buffet breakfast there, going back to when it was Margaritaville. Small but decent selection with no crowd. Kind of an unknown gem!
  8. I'm sailing Getaway in April and expect that our DR stop will be at Taino Bay. My daughters sailing on Escape stopped at Taino too in May.
  9. It's nothing like the OL! We've frequented the small buffet breakfast at American Diner on 2 sailings of Joy, Escape and (I believe) Encore and it has offered the same items on all of them. They have scrambled eggs, an omelette station (where they'll make eggs to order), breakfast sandwiches, waffles, bacon and sausage, cereal, fruit, etc. Quite a bit more than the OL and a great alternative. Not to mention that it's outside with some beautiful views (mostly). It's great for people like us who get out to the pool area very early and don't like to leave our loungers for any extended period of time. I look forward to it being another complimentary option throughout the day.
  10. In my experience, NCL has more options for breakfast than I remember any of the rccl ships I sailed on, although I don't remember Johnny Rockets having breakfast items. Full buffet, dining room, Local/Osheehans and the small buffet at American Diner. And we've frequented the American diner breakfast buffet probably 2 times on each of our last few sailings. It's a fine alternative with plenty to choose from. I'm certainly happy to have it now be complimentary for the rest of the day too.
  11. They already use it for a small buffet breakfast and it's pretty good. I doubt they'd make it a full fledged sit down breakfast.
  12. Have done it before and plan on doing it again in April.
  13. Yeah, the continental breakfast does cost 4.95 plus gratuity, but there are other options. Of course there's the observation lounge, but that's all the way forward on 15. Im an early riser and I enjoyed going down to the Waterfront on deck 8 for my early coffee. They always had 2 stations set up by 6am. One on the port side and one on starboard side. There's comfortable seating and a great view. I sailed Encore in 2020 and it's a great ship 🛳 so enjoy!
  14. I'll be looking for it on Getaway, so thanks for the info! Just wondering, how far does that single elevator go down from the Vibe deck?
  15. I'm curious about this too. I hung out on deck 19 almost every day of my Escape sailing and always took the elevator to 18 and walked up. The caveat is that I never entered Vibe. I lounged in the public space, which was pretty much undiscovered for the first few days of the cruise, but had the other half of the Vibe bar, a hot tub and a cooling off water spot. And, if there's an elevator to deck 19, it's not on the deck plans. But, it would make sense for them to have one. Since I'm booked for the vibe on Getaway, is there an elevator that takes you to that deck too, because I don't see that either on the deck plans. TIA
  16. I agree. Elevator only goes to deck 18, then you walk up one flight of stairs.
  17. I can't really answer your question yet, but I'll be experiencing Vibe for the first time on Getaway in April. I'll bet they are all pretty similar, but you just enjoyed the 2nd newest Vibe in the fleet and it had to be super nice. I'll come back here after my sailing with an update but I'm sure you'll get others on here with some info.
  18. I bought our vibe passes some time ago and the cabanas were never available and, quite frankly, I'm not sure if we even want one. We already paid 289 x 3 for the passes. We're not spending on extra specialty dining and we've only booked one shore excursion so I thought I'd at least consider it. Thanks again.
  19. a little off topic but I purchased Vibe passes for my April sailing on Getaway. Will cabanas only be offered after boarding? They are not available to book yet, but I'm about 114 days out from my sailing. Also, anyone know what they typically go for? I'll be on a 10 day sailing. TIA
  20. Thanks for the response. I only used the cc for 1 purchase to get the obc. I don't have enough points for an upgrade, which is fine as I'll use this obc plus the shareholder obc to upgrade my wifi and purchase a dining package for my daughter. Thanks again!!
  21. After booking my next cruise (Getaway 4/19/24), I applied and received the NCL credit card. I spent the appropriate amount to receive the $250 of obc, but I'm not sure how to get that applied. Does anyone have any experience with that? TIA
  22. No worries! It'll take an extra few minutes, but is easily taken care of at the pier.
  23. I've seen a specific Vibe snack menu on the Prof Cruise menu website. The site was just updated Dec. 1st. There's only a few things available and they all cost $$. We almost never pay extra for snacks on a cruise, so we'll probably stick with the free amenities. My wife and daughter have no problem walking to the buffet and bringing back a plate of fries or whatever else they can find that's bad for you. Lmao!! We'll have some OBC too, but I'd be nervous that Vibe could sell out before we board. Also, we're using some of our OBC for wifi and dining package for my daughter. 122 Days!!
  24. I've never heard of that deal, but I'm interested to find out more. I've booked Vibe for our 10 day sailing on Getaway in April. It's me, my wife and daughter for $289pp. While I don't think I'd be interested in spending more for a cabana, I am waiting to see what the cost will be once I get to 120 day mark.
  25. I've sailed Joy twice in the past 18 months and we had a great time on both sailings. The OL is a great space, but on sailaway day it will get pretty crowded as people gravitate there to wait for their cabins to be ready. And, if the weather is "yucky", it'll be a madhouse. I'd look at the Waterfront on deck 8. It's a beautiful area with tons of seating and a couple of bars. Since you're leaving from Miami, it'll be warm out and the Waterfront has protection from rain so you should be good to go.
