  1. I've enjoyed it on Encore, Joy and Escape. Found it by accident on Escape back in 2018. Was working out with my cousin at 5:45am the first morning and suggested we cool off walking the Waterfront and, voila, we found the coffee stations. I didn't discover the setup in Spice until I sailed Joy for the first time, 2 years ago.
  2. On the Waterfront the coffee stations were at the 2 outdoor bars, Cavern Club and Sugarcane Mojito. If I remember correctly, only Spice had juice too. The gym is right next to Spice and I'd go out there after working out and have some juice and a cup of coffee. There'd be a couple of smokers out there already, but it was practically empty with plenty of space to avoid the unpleasant smell! Very peaceful.
  3. I can't remember the name, but they made Bloody Mary's with bacon at the Irish Pub on one of the RCCL cruises I took some years ago. I had read about it on here and made it my first stop when embarking. It became one of my favorite bars. The Guinness on tap didn't hurt either! Lol!!
  4. I'm not gonna lie, my wife has brought me a big plate of bacon from the buffet to my lounger overlooking the pool deck on many occasions. Combine that with a few Bloody Mary's and I'm a happy guy! In the afternoon a plate might be filled with fries!! It's almost a cruise tradition! Lol!!
  5. I've sailed Joy twice in the past 2 years, and while I can't comment about the removal of breakfast food, I find it hard to believe the coffee stations would be removed and I'm sure the Starbucks isn't going anywhere. There was never real breakfast there anyway. Pastries, cereal, etc. Nothing hot. I always preferred going out to Spice in the early AM after the gym, usually before 7am. There was coffee, juice and pastries set up out there and it was a quiet outdoor place. They also had coffee stations set up on each side of the Waterfront, also starting at around 6am. Hopefully they don't remove these spots for coffee, as I'll be looking for them on Getaway in a couple of months.
  6. I only know Insomnia because of my daughter from when she was in college. Personally, I like my chocolate chip cookies and fudge brownies to be separate. Lol! Just last night I ate a sleeve of 7 Tates chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. I'm usually a soft chocolate chip cookie guy, but those Tates are yummy!
  7. I agree! A good brownie (and I don't know if these are good) beats a cookie every time. Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just for clarification purposes, I prefer a "fudgie" brownie over a "cake-like" brownie. 59 days until I get to search for myself on Getaway!
  8. Yes, that would be amazing! I am 1 out of 1. I typically book what I want and stick with it. Balcony or club balcony. But last year was an opportunity and I've got a couple of bids in for my upcoming sailing. It's a wacky 🤪 system, with the numbers being all over the place. Happy cruising
  9. So you don't believe that I bid $5 over minimum ($125) to go from inside to club balcony and won? Last July on Joy!
  10. You're making too much sense for our resident attorney! Lol 😂
  11. Thanks for this. I'm sailing Getaway April 19th so this is timely. How was your trip?
  12. Then why didn't I get the extra meal and get charged? And I called my pcc of many years after I won my bid and he confirmed that I wouldn't be getting the 2nd specialty meal.
  13. The best part was that the minimum bid was 125pp and I only went $5 over that and won. So $260 got me from inside to club balcony. Frankly, I was stunned but pretty pleased. That bathroom in a club balcony is fantastic!
  14. Approximately $2 per cookie is no bargain! Lol 😂 Costco now has cookies at their concession that are $2.49 each and they are well worth it for all you cookie afficionados out there!
  15. I won an upgrade bid from an inside cabin to a club balcony this past July on Joy and my FAS perks were not changed. My wife and I still only had 1 specialty meal each. That's the policy.
  16. 100% true! My wife and I booked an inside cabin on Joy last July and won an upgrade to a club balcony. We still only had one specialty meal each. We did get the snacks and free laundry that comes with a club balcony but the FAS perks were unchanged.
  17. I agree! IF it's a fleetwide policy change, I'm guessing it's a change due to the pandemic. I don't see how it could be cost cutting. Real drinkers would just go in the pools and hot tubs less. Gotta have priorities! Lol!
  18. I'm 63 days out from my Getaway sailing and can't even get as far as the poster above got. All the mdr's say the same for me, "not available to book". We've always been ok with walking up and waiting a little for a table, so not a big deal. I don't think we've ever waited more than 15 minutes and it's usually been less. My wife and daughter are interested in dining in Tropicana one night, so they can see the Burn the Floor dancers while dining so I might attempt to make a reservation once on board, if they allow it. In July on Joy, we successfully made reservations in the Manhattan dining room once on board for our party of 13. We did it for nights one and seven and it was simple as can be. And I know the accommodation was made because of the size of our group.
  19. I was on Joy this past July and I had drinks with me in the hot tub and by the pool. Not on this sailing, but I've even had drinks delivered to me by crew in the hot tub. Maybe there's been a change of policy. We're sailing Getaway in April and I'll be sure to check it out.
  20. I am relaxed and tremendously amused!
