  1. Well on the first monday of February I know exactly what I will be doing. The Superbowl is going to be on Australian free to air TV at a very reasonable start mid morning. So i will be in front of the TV with my cashews and veggie crisps with a gin and tonic or two. Afterwards might find myself slightly inebriated. from champagne if they win or beer if they lose. Of course I am talking about the Philly Eagles.
  2. The Prawn Star is on the Sunshine Coast and at The Wharf where the tenders from cruise ships dock. Although in Queensland it is called a Moreton Bay bug in Sydney it is called a Balmain Bug. In fact it is a slipper lobster. Very nice eating.
  3. It sounds as though we were on the same cruise as 57 varieties. Lots of birds and some animals usually when off the ship. We were lucky as at lunch when cruising the Narrows we had lunch on our balcony with another couple we had met on board. Our butler worked through his time off to serve us. But the highlight of the lunch was when we were escorted by the Amazon pink dolphins for at least an hour. Just magic. We had fleeting sightings in other spots. Also a few caiman. I actually really enjoyed it. One of the reasons was that the Cloud had had a refurbishment and dropped off a lot of the old furniture at villages along the way. The towns were also interesting to walk around. Again this was not an Expedition cruise and I am sure on an Expedition cruise there would be more of an emphasis on the wild life.
  4. It's definitely a Silverseas thing. A few people I know have already been to Japan and as vaccinated did not have to test arriving or leaving Japan. But they do have a lengthy form to fill out before you arrive. Best to be done before you leave home as it was witnessed that people who had not filled out the form before arrival were sent to their own line with reports that they took 3+ hours to get through Immigration. The only people requiring on arrival testing into Japan are those that can't produce a vaccination certificate for 3 doses or anyone who has been in China in the previous 7 days. Here is the official announcement. https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page4e_001053.html
  5. But ours was number 3794 and only received yesterday.
  6. In Australia we always talk about our councils and potholes. With many parts of the Eastern seabord flooded at various times over the last few months the potholes are deeper and more numerous than usual.

    World Cruise

I think you will find that at least some of the dancers can sing. One of our grandaughters was on RCL ships as a dancer. But her training including singing lessons. So when one of the singers actually did break a leg she stepped into the role. She now is land based and principal singer at a casino. So must have been OK.

    Tokyo Port

And if you look at the Whisper's voyages you can see several Tokyo to Tokyo cruises. But some say Tokyo to Yokohama (Tokyo). So it has to be the new terminal.

    Tokyo Port

In the past we had a cruise from Tokyo and it was from the old Odaiba terminal. so extremely likely it will be the new Odaiba terminal. If Yokohama it is listed as Yokohama. In the next 15 months we have a cruise departing Yokohama and one arriving in Yokohama. and in the cruise list for the Muse they are listed as Yokohama - Singapore and Bali - Yokohama. not Tokyo.
  10. Bad luck LoisR that fumble in the last quarter was the end basically for the Jaguars. But my Eagles soared again and got to watch a replay. Better that one of the Eagles is an Aussie!
  11. Mysty the Robbie burns poem in clue 1 is titled Selkirk grace which fits. So the Scottish soup would probably be scotch broth which fits clue 2.
  12. And this is apparently in Canada. From Facebook natureamazing.net
  13. But who has given them more profit someone with 1 cruise in a larger suite or someone with 400 days in a verandah suite. We have spent the majority of our days in Silver suites though from now on it will be Verandah suites.
  14. Though the recent prepaid offer for some cruises port to port is not at all attractive if you had already booked it door to door. We have a cruise booked in October. The first of 3 segments is now offered as port to port with a discount the next 2 aren't. so we asked our TA whether we would save much changing that first segment, Answer was hardly anything and you would lose your current bookings and rebook all segments. Meaning no guarantee of same suite, loosing some benefits such as OBC,B2B discount and the credit we had for travel to the cruise such as transfers and Air which we never use. I did think there would be a catch when i asked but even the cynic in me underestimated the result.
  15. So India is a bit like the old caste system in the UK when it comes to restaurants,😉 We stayed at the Royal Society of Medicine's Domus back in 1995. Being clueless colonials we always chatted to the waiters all of whom were Portugese. By the end of our week as soon as we walked ito the restaurant they all came over to chat to us whilst the English doctors were snapping their fingers and calling out "Boy". We ate there every night as much cheaper than even ordinary restaurants and our poor little colonial dollar was only fetching 40 Pence. And thanks for the itinerary.
