  1. Mike wishing you a great cruise and safe travels with the storm out there..........we've sailed a few times with tropical storms and hurricanes out there..so no worries...........I just hope you have great weather and get to GSC......those tender ports are so picky on letting people on them......but I'll tell you one time we went to Cococay and the water was so crazy choppy that the tender was listing crazily and I kept saying we are going to go over, and they felt this was "safe"....so when they don't think it is.........trust me....it must be terrible....and anyway after a storm passes through the weather is usually gorgeous because it sucks all the bad weather into the system....and it's blown away.............have a blast, can't wait to see the pics.............

Thanks So Very Much Aussie!!! The storm appears to be taking aim at the Bahamas between today and tomorrow, so we'll see how this affects our route between Miami and our first POC, St. Maartin. How does the saying go?? Hang on and enjoy the ride??,,we intend to do just that!! As long as we're on Divina, how we get there or when we get there or if we get there is irrelevant to us. Divina is our destination,,the ports of call are just a bonus!!

  2. On another thread, someone mentioned that the Divina has a daily happy hour. Is that true? Where and when? What is generally offered?

Ir was also mentioned that you can use the alcohol vouchers for 2 for one drinks during Happy Hour. Is that correct?

Note: we are not sailing in the Yacht Club.

I'll find out this information for you jkgourmet this week unless someone posts it before then.:)

  3. Hi Michelle, I'd heard of that, but, this seems to be something differeny, I can't copy and paste it.

 You'd better not eat all my Nutella!

    Mike, Have a great cruise!

LOVE IT MAUREEN!!!!! Thank You So Much For The Well Wishes!!! So looking forward to this trip and this review!!! We are leaving Naples at 9:30 and hope to be at the POM by 11:00 and onboard around noon, sipping drinks, snapping pics, and answering everyone's questions!! Watch us on the POM webcam,,

It's going to be great to watch Divina make her way into the turning basin and dock at 5:00am tomorrow morning,,knowing that it's finally our turn to set sail aboard her!!:)

  4. I hope you have a wonderful time on the Divina. We were on the May 3 sailing and will be returning (with kids and grandkids) on October 18. I hope I haven't waited until too late to ask a couple of questions...

It was very hot, with very little shade on the private island in May, so I reserved a clamshell for our October sailing. The confirmation just says "clamshell". Do you know (or could you please find out) how that process works? Will there be a particular clamshell reserved for us, or are they assigned/chosen upon arrival? And are they in more than one location, or just at the area close to the tenders?

Also, can you please let me know if Sonya and Rick (Ameritalian Duo) are still on the ship? I am almost afraid to ask, for fear that they won't be.

Lucky you to be sailing tomorrow - wish it was our turn already :D

Thank You So Very Much ZoeyVictoria!!! We were on Divina in May as well,,only for a 3 day sailing to the Bahamas though:(.

We have a cabana reserved at GSC, but I will check on the clamshells for you. I know the cabanas are assigned in the order the reservations were made,I would hope that since there are so many more clamshells, that this wouldn't be the case for them. :)

  5. Hello Past Divina Cruisers,

Is there another option for lunch on the first day other than the buffet? We would like to enjoy a calmer atmosphere. :)

Princess offers lunch in one of the dining rooms on the first day.

    Thanks.

    K

I'll be boarding tomorrow and will be able to find out if The Villa Rossa Dining Room is open for lunch or not. I'll be posting the answer to this as well as many other questions in the following thread:

  6. Mike have a fantastic time, be safe and im really looking forward to your pictures and reports. Be ready for a change of itinerary.

Thanks So Much Riclop!!!! I talked with my PVC a few minutes ago and he said they do have an alternate plan in place, but will take a wait and see approach before making any adjustments to the itinerary. Quite honestly,,,Captain Scala could just sail around the Caribbean Sea every day, and since the ship is a destination in itself, we'd be quite happy!!!:D

  7. Gambee mentioned that one could use the Allegrissimo vouchers during Happy Hour to get two drinks for one voucher. What a deal! Can you check when and where Happy Hour is around the ship, please?

    Bon Voyage!

    Trish

I sure will Trish!! That sounds like a great deal!!! Our cousins who are traveling in "steerage" LOL,,, would definitely like to take advantage of that!!! Oh,,and btw,,the bacon isn't always crispy in The Yacht Club:(,,LOL!!!!

  8. Hi Mike,

We will be in the Yacht club in a few weeks and would like to give the people who look after us a gift from Scotland but not sure how many we will need do you know how it works with the butlers, room stewards and waiters will we have a few different ones that take care of us or the same ones all the time we are doing the b2b. Also there are 9 of us travelling do you know if they will be able to seat us together at Dinner

Enjoy your cruise looking forward to lots of pictures from the Yacht Club.

    Judith :)

Tigger89,,,if you have your room numbers, I will find out who your butler will be for all of your staterooms. One butler usually takes care of a few staterooms, so you may luck out and have the same butler for all of your rooms. For dining,,once you board, you are escorted to the Yacht Club Concierge, there, you will meet the Maitre'D of LeMuse(Yacht Club Dining Room). Let him know you would like your party to dine together and he will accommodate you. :)

  9. You're leaving tomorrow! WOOT WOOT!

So glad that system that was developing and looked to be headed toward the Caribbean, has decided to take a NE turn!

    Have a wonderful cruise!

    Michelle~

Yes we are FLAMOM24!!!! Finally!!!! I've been watching that storm, and they say it's supposed to go over Puerto Rico tonight and Hispanola and the SouthEastern Bahamas tomorrow. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing,,but wouldn't mind a slightly bumpy ride either ;)

  10. Mike, Gambee has started posting things on his blog and something jumped out at me. The daily says you have to activate your credit card to be used internationally because it will be processed through France. Have you had to do anything different?

Maureen,,,FLAMOM is correct,,,call your credit card company and let them know you will be traveling and where you will be traveling to. :)

  11. Hi Mikesa1721

I would appreciate if you could check something for me. Like I said in a previous post, We'll cruise on the Divina in a week

For the MDR, we would like to have a table for two but i don't know who to ask, where and when....

Maybe you know already but if you don't, is it possible to check ????

    Thanks in advance

Casanova02,,,You'll want to ask the Maitre'D once you arrive at your assigned dining room. I will say though,,I've heard that tables for two are hard to come by,,so best bet is to get there early on the first day, and speak with your Maitre'D. You might get lucky!!!

  12. Yes, this is true. The slots are extremely tight. Blackjack was good for my husband and myself and he was up in craps as well. Table games were definitely much better.

I faired pretty well at the blackjack tables as well. Unfortunately, the second night I was playing third base, and the people to my right were half drunk taking hits on hard 18's,,,needless to say, I ended up giving back 1/3 of my winnings from the night before before I colored up and left the table.

  13. MSC offers the welcome lunch at the buffet. We were not allowed to have lunch at the main restaurant on the first day. We were informed that it is for transit passengers only.

Interesting Travelberlin. I seen that they advertise in the "Day 1" Dailies that Villa Rossa was open for lunch, but I guess it only applies for those who are on the second leg of a b2b.

  14. I guess the three tier pricing will come to NA soon???? and what would be the surprises....anyone want to guess....the winner gets " a pat on the back from the cruise critic blog members"...lol
