  1. I’ve read a few comments about the Infinity looking a bit tired and shabby. We are booked on her in March 2024. Does anybody know if she is due to have a refurbishment. Thank you.
  2. Look on VisitNorway tourist board website. It has some good information.
  3. Have you looked on the VisitNorway tourist board website. It has some very good suggestions.
  4. The last cruise we did with Celebrity before lockdown was ok. However, we booked again with Celebrity for last September. We thought they had improved and the food in the MDR was very good. in fact, we’ve booked another cruise with them for 2024.
  5. We’ve given up on P&O partly because of the same reasons as you and also because they don5 allow me to take m6 folding scooter in a non adapted cabin. I t would easily fit into the wardrobe and I am fine if I just have a shower and not a bath. our last few cruises have been with Princess or Celebrity and have had no problem in getting an accessible cabin. live also found with P&O they go to the same old places with no variety in their itineraries. We also like the all inclusive packages which they do.
  6. I live in London and was recently in Paris. In neither city is cash needed. I haven’t been in Barcelona for a while, but imagine it’s the same. Norway has been a cashless society for some time now.
  7. 5heres loads of things to do in Belfast. Look on VisitBelfast website for ideas.
  8. My partner doesn’t want to do the trip from Ashdod to Masada as he doesn’t want to go on the cable car. I’ve been before, so I don’t mind. Apart from the cruise excursion I can’t find another small group trip to Tel Aviv/Jaffa. So, I was wondering how easy it is to take the train. I understand you have to take a shuttle bus from out of the port. Has anybody on here done the journey and if so, how easy was it? Any information would be appreciated.
  9. My partner and I are British and wouldn’t consider going anywhere abroad without adequate travel insurance. we are covered for medical treatment in most European countries, but it wouldn’t cover the cost of an air ambulance if we needed one. you just never know what’s around the corner.
  10. We’ve been to Norway 4 times before, so have already seen quite a bit, so will give it a miss. Thanks for info.
  11. Have you looked on VisitNorway.com the official tourist board website? in Olden you can book all tours online, bu5 there is also an office at the port that operates the trips. in Bergen you can buy the funicular tickets at a kiosk on the quayside or online. it’s Europes wettest city, so take waterproofs.
  12. I’ve been to all those ports and never needed a shuttle.
  13. Did you not check the door dimension before you booked your cruise. I use a small mobility scooter and check everything out before I book. When you have a disability you need to do extra research and checking, otherwise you can get some nasty surprises.
  14. We were on Enchanted Princess last year and docked in Oceankaj. The HOHO bus stops there, but there is a local bus too which takes you into centre. There is a machine to buy ticket by bus stop. taxis also available at port
  15. My partner hates heights, so, is the road very high with frightening mountain bends? If it is he won’t want to do that.
  16. It was pre pandemic, so can’t remember, but I think it went to most places. I remember stopping at a high up lookout plac3 with a fantastic view.
  17. Thank you all so much for your comments. I did quite a bit of research today and decided to book the North Cape Sightseeing Tour with Blue Puffin. They seem to get very good reviews and are recommended on the Norway Tourist Board website. as Brits we are used to changeable weather and have visited Norway on four previous occasions, but thanks about the weather conditions.
  18. North Cape Excursions my partner and I will be visiting Honningsvag in June on a cruise ship. I realise it’s not a very large place, but does anybody have any excursion recommendations to the North Cape. I’ve looked at North Cape Tours and Blu Puffin. Does anybody have any experience of these trips. thank you
  19. I e taken both wheelchair and scooter in accessible and non accessible cabins and have been to all those ports and some more than once. Tallin is the most inaccessible of those ports. There are loads of cobbles and it’s hilly. Although I think there is a HOHO. All the others are doable. Look on WhatsinPort, Tripadvisor, tourist board websites and Google. There’s loads of information if you look for it.
  20. Batteries create a memory and won’t charge beyond that point. You should have charged it throughout the pandemic. you need to fully charge it and then make sure you use all the charge, so the next time it fully charges again. Try to start each use with it fully charged.
  21. If your wheelchair folds, then it will fit into one of the mini buses which operate from the ports. They acre much cheaper than the ship tours. I can thoroughly recommend Cosol Tours in St Lucia and Bernards Tours in St Maarten. Alternatively, there ar3 always lots of taxis available and the wheelchair will fit in the boot of the car.
  22. The only place out of those ports I don’t know very well is La Spezia. None of them need accessible excursions. They can all be done by HOHO, public transport, walking etc. Look on WhatsinPort, local tourist board websites, Tripadvisor and Google. I use a small mobility scooter and don’t book with them any more due to their rules on accepting them in non adapted cabins.
  23. Airlines carry scooters FOC. Which cruise line are you travelling with? Their T&Cs will tell you if you can take it in a non adapted cabin and th3 door widths. I can’t see you being able to hire one in Italy and it being dropped off in Spain. How would they get it back to its original destination?
  24. I have been to all those ports and some more than once. I have taken both scooter and manual wheelchair. They are all doable and some better than others. The most challenging is Tallin, with loads of cobblestones. I suggest you do some research as to what you want to see. in some of the places we’ve used public transport and in others HOHO buses. Look on VisitNorway, VisitDenmark, WhatsinPort,Tripadvisor and Google. in Skagen there is a free shuttle bus to the town, in Copenhagen there’s a local bus which costs £1.30. In Visby we were on Cunard and they provided free shuttle and also in Helsinki. in Oslo ships dock in town, but we used a local bus which is free for disabled.
