So I am scheduled on Carnival Spirit to be in Skagway on July 17th. There are only 2 ships listed in port that day, the other being Silver Muse. Spirit is scheduled at RRF and Silver Muse at RRA. Might they possibly move us to the other ORE and BRD berths?

Carnival Introduces Menu Mate for Food Allergies

So I have celiac and can't have gluten. I am dining at the steakhouse the first night. Will someone in the steakhouse take my order for the next day's breakfast and dinner? Also, I am assuming that the only reason to take an advance order is if there is something that needs to be made special. Does this also mean I can't order anything "special" the first night in the steakhouse? -
Heads up on pre-cruise COVID testing if traveling soon
land64shark replied to KKB's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I scheduled mine with CVS. I think you do need symptoms or maybe exposure. It asked if I had any symptoms in the last 14 days. Of course I've had fatigue and a headache since then, so no lie! -

I just made an appointment for the 10th of July at CVS. Yeah, it asked if I have had any covid symptoms ....in the last 14 days! Well, yeah. I've been fatigued and had a headache in that timeframe. So, not lying. -
How much different are Alaska cruises compared to hot region cruises
land64shark replied to waytoodeep03's topic in Alaska
I went in July 2018 with my 27 year old daughter. Totally her trip and she planned it all. She is generally NOT a cruise lover. She grew up in Florida and went on many a Caribbean cruise, but just got plain tired of beaches. Alaska is a VERY different cruise and experience. She and I had an amazing time! The scenery just... never...gets...old! Oh, and we had an inside cabin. -
I did Norwegian in July 2018 and we got real up close and personal, I thought.

Carnival Introduces Menu Mate for Food Allergies

I'm pretty happy about this as I am celiac and can't have gluten. I wonder if it covers all of the eating venues. -
My daughter on the cruise got Norovirus late Friday night. She threw up 6 times and had diarrhea as well. She ate nothing at all on Saturday and stayed in her cabin, missed Juneau. Sunday she "felt better" and ventured into Ketchikan, but was weak. Nibbled on cornflakes and eggs...and regretted it. Monday she said she felt fine, but still didn't want food. She barely touched her dinner in the steakhouse. Today, she is beginning to get her appetite back (now that she is off the ship). Interestingly, she says she was able to drink alcohol for the last couple of days, just not food. She also said she talked to a bunch of people that were affected from as early as Wednesday. She said people were talking about their "food poisoning" on the bus back to the airport, oblivious to the Norovirus outbreak announcement and information letter. None-the-less, she still said it was a good trip!

Yup. There it is! Daughter completely missed Juneau, She was in her cabin all day throwing up and the other end too. She was able to cancel her $500+ helicopter excursion an hour before it was scheduled. Apparently the magic words for day of cancels is "I'm throwing up". Didn't eat a thing all day and is using her cheers package to buy ginger ales. (Makes for very expensive sodas.) I feel so bad for her, but she seems to be taking it in stride. I hope it is short lived.
