  1. We just got an email with this change in the NCL Pearl River in July. We assumed they would change it to Trieste so we could still go to Venice.
  2. I’m not saying we won’t carry them. Just responding to your question of why it’s such a big deal for travelers to carry them. How hard will it be to get a replacement, if someone steals ours, so we can get back home?
  3. We will be traveling in the summer so anything extra is undesirable. Additionally, it worries me with all the pic-pockets there.
  4. I wouldn’t qualify for their cards currently because of their 5/24 rule, even though I have a high credit score.
  5. Thank you all! Dh got the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. If we don't think it's worth it after a year, I believe he can change to the Preferred.
  6. We have a cruise booked on the Pearl next summer. It says we will tender to Venice one day and dock in Trieste the next. Can you tell me about your experience tending to Venice? Last I heard they weren’t successful with this.
  7. This is quite disappointing as it was ONE of the main reasons we booked a SSS instead of a veranda. Do you know if we are able to downgrade our room without losing the perks for booking onboard? I know the OBC would go down. Another reason we loved the yacht club! I had filet more nights than not, although it was always on the YC menu.
  8. This was the only reason I thought I would enjoy a butler. Well that, and stocking us up with water. Looks like we probably won’t have either. I wish we would have just booked a veranda for half the price.
  9. Will they still deliver specialty coffee and pastries from Cafe Al Bacio to sky suites?
  10. Thanks! I have read numerous card comparisons and watched several videos and keep coming back to the two Chase cards as our best options. Because I’ve done so, I can’t recall which one(s) had warned about the complexity of those cards in making the most of them. It’s quite unfortunate we can’t transfer the miles to AA which we already have and has a major hub here in Charlotte. We do have United though. With that said, I can’t make up my mind between the Chase Sapphire Reserved and Preferred. We cruise every year. If we use the card to pay for a cruise (or hotel, etc) would that give us the $300 travel credit on the Reserve card or would we have to pay through their portal. Do VRBO or Air B&B rentals count? We tend to rent cabins in the mountains annually. The Priority Pass membership sounds like a nice plus, but we aren’t frequent flyers. It looks like we would need to book hotels through their portal to reap the most benefits, but it’s generally cheaper to book directly with the hotel. Edited to add: We are also considering the Am Ex Platinum card, but that annual fee is so high! I do see where we’d get a lot of it back though.
  11. Thanks! I had read it can be kind of confusing to reap the full benefits of the card so it’s good to hear.
  12. My husband and I both have AAdvantage credit cards. We wiped out our miles on both cards on flights for next summer. I thought we’d play the game and get a new credit card to get a huge lump sum of miles. Which credit card do you think is best? I have seen some recommendations for both Chase Sapphire cards (the one with the $95 annual fee and one with $595, I believe) and Capital One Venture X. What are your thoughts on these? Any others we should look at? We live in Charlotte so we have AA, Delta and United. Jet Blue too but I haven’t heard good things about them.
  13. Sounds like a great idea! That would be convenient.
  14. I’ve been stuck at home since Friday recovering from minor surgery. I’m feeling much better today and am up and about the house and starting to get antsy. Is it too early for me to start booking all our transfers or should we wait a while? The one that was recommended in Madrid wanted payment in full to hold it. I’m still debating on if we should visit Pompeii during our transfer from Naples to Amalfi or on the way back to Naples, for our one night stay before heading to Athens.
  15. It’s in our list. Not sure if we will have the energy to get to it but would enjoy seeing it if we’re up for it.
  16. That and a pastry from there every morning were the main things we we were looking forward to our butler providing for us. We got a sunset sky suite and planned to enjoy them on our balcony.
  17. I can’t wait to hear how it goes! This here is the problem. It’s not 30 pages of people whining about a drop in service, it’s the fact that when we booked we were told we would have a butler and now they are taking them away without compensation. Exactly! I’m so sorry to hear about your wife’s declining health. I hope this trip is everything you both dream it will be! Congratulations on your upcoming 50th anniversary! That’s quite a milestone not too many marriages make anymore. ❤️
  18. In addition to my sandals, I also wanted a pair of comfortable sneakers. I just bought the TikTok viral Dr. Scholl’s Time Off Platforms. Who would have thought Dr Scholl’s would go viral?? They felt so good walking through the store, with good arch support and insole cushioning. A better test will be wearing them to work after school starts back. Hope they live up to the hype, but couldn’t go wrong for the price.
  19. We were in the Yacht Club last month. It was an amazing experience! Same! Us too. We have a sunset sky suite booked on the Equinox for June. We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary and thought we would splurge. This is quite disappointing, especially since the yacht club got us quite spoiled last month! And for only 57% of the cost!!
  20. We have a TA. When we decide what we’d like to change it to I’ll contact her to see what she can do. I read the T&C. The wording is a bit confusing but it looks like we may have a year. I thought that was what the lady said when we purchased. We asked because we had two other cruises booked in the Mediterranean next summer. We may have kept it, but with the nasty heatwave this July, we decided to keep the X cruise which is a full month earlier, and the NCL cruise at the beginning of July with our friends. Besides, the itinerary on Celebrity is amazing! I’d love to transfer it to spring break or summer 2025 because we did absolutely love the YC and want to do it again an and again!! 🙂 Celebrity’s retreat prices are getting way to expensive.
  21. We booked YC, apparently that’s why.
