  1. Ill take some of that action. We board tomorrow so ill let you know. 9 times out of 10 they dont have the beds in the right configuration so them recognizing that there are 2 under 21 people in the room and locking the fridge is unlikely…
  2. Exactly. Just like when hes in his dorm at college, im not controlling what hes doing. If he does something wrong, i will have to deal with it, but im not checking on him to make sure hes being a 'good boy'...
  3. we get on apex tomorrow and have 2 infinite varandas. My guess is my wife and i will like them because we always get regular balconies, and never use them. Well, maybe to hang up our bathing suits... Our kids on the other hand might not. They do use the balconies more than we do. should be interesting and a new experience. Not sure how no air-conditioning when the window is open will go over, especially when my wife is getting ready for dinner. But hopefully it wont be as ridiculously hot this time of year in the Caribbean.
  4. Not my bar its his. Hes an adult.
  5. Wow, this question got a lot of air time. So, sounds like Celebrity doesnt have the same policy as NCL in regards to drinking under 21 with parents consent. But ill throw another fun question in, do you think our sons, 19-16yo mini bar will be stocked with liquor and beer? They have their own room next to ours with only their names on the room. And if/when they drink it, do you think the room steward will restock it?
  6. Must just be a NCL thing. What is the minimum age for purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages? Passengers must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol. With the exception of US sailings, Norwegian permits young adults to purchase and personally consume wine and beer only while onboard and with the consent of an accompanying parent. Authorization will be given only when the accompanying parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed at the Guest Services Desk upon embarkation of the vessel. However, passengers 18 years of age or older are permitted to consume beer and wine when sailing on round-trip European and Australian voyages without having to complete the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form.
  7. Last year on NCL we were able to sign a waver that allowed our 19yo to drink beer and wine with us at meals. Does anyone know if celebrity has a similar policy? thx
  8. My wife also pointed this out, however she would much rather have a 'home base' and just find a lounger when she wants sun. Much easier to find 1 lounger rather than 4. Plus, based on the youtube videos i saw of the cabanas, i dont think they get much sun if any.
  9. Do they give you a receipt to sign for the additional charge and if so, is there a place to write in a tip?
  10. I can make some calls using WIFI, but none of my inbound calls come through for some reason. The people calling say it goes straight to VM. With Cell at sea, at least some of the calls come through and the outbound calling is better. Neither are great, but combined they are ok. I was just hoping the newer ships had better service. Does sound that way though. thx for the responses.
  11. We tried ATT Cellular at sea on Silhouette last month and it was not great to say the least. We got maybe 1 of every 3 calls and had to try multiple times to dial out. And this was strictly on sea days, we just used local cellular at the islands. Has anyone used this service on Apex and was you experience better than ours? We are on that ship at the end of the month. We also signed up for WIFI on the ship, but that was also unreliable and slow. Thanks
  12. We thought the same, although not as many cruises, but getting up there. However, on our last cruise, we booked through one of those large on line TAs and the price on our 2 cabins was over $1700 less. I guess they get group discounts or at least thats what i have read on this board. That was a significant enough of a difference for us to book through them, but its not without some stress... I prefer to book direct with the cruise lines, but for $1700, ill take a little pain.
  13. Same here, we booked a full for the first sea day. That was only on monday though and all days were open, now only the port days are open. People must be reading this post and grabbing them up...
  14. We are also on that cruise next week and were able to book one yesterday. And all days were open so odd that you cant today.
  15. Has anyone done this? I see it under our drink packages, but its a little vague as to what exactly you get. Bottle sizes, how many, etc. If they are just the mini bottles, it might make most sense just taking the ones out of your minibar fridge, depending on how many are in the package. thx
  16. On our Silhouette cruise last month, we had to ask for specific upgraded bottles of water. We didnt realize that until a couple days into the cruise. Everytime we would ask for a bottle of water, they would hand us a can of water which we thought was odd, but given it was our first celebrity cruise, we just assumed it was some environment conservation thing. The we started seeing Evian, Perrier, etc and asked one of the bar tenders what gives. He said you have to specifically ask for those because they assume you only have the classic package unless you say otherwise. Guess everyone pretty much has at least the classic package so they just assume that. Just an FYI if you upgrade.
  17. Oh darn, that would have been a nice perk, however, we still booked. In our opinion well worth the $300 to not have to play the pool chair saving games first thing in the morning. Also, I've paid close to that at land based resorts and they didnt include food or drinks. However, i dont think our opinion is that popular because we were able to book the two sea days on our cruise that starts next week which i thought was odd. Everything else seems to be sold out.
  18. We watched some of the youtube videos and they mention that only cabana guests can get into that area. Is that a true statement and how do they police it given it also looks like thats where you get on the magic carpet when its on that level. Also, there are two chairs in front of the cabinas facing the ocean. Are those also included? thanks
  19. We were on it on Silhouette last month and it was interesting, but we wouldnt do it again. A one and done activity for us. However, our 16/19yo are on Apex with us this month and they want to do it. Great... I do think they may enjoy it more than us. I will say, your dinner courses will go as fast as the slowest person eating because they all have to be served at the same time. So if you have younger kids, you may want to take that in account.
  20. Thanks everyone, great info and i definitely didn't get any of that info from the description on the celebrity website. Ill check out youtube too. thanks again
  21. This is a very true statement. When we were on silhouette last month and tried to get into Murano but was told it was full, although maybe half of the tables had people at them. They said they did not have enough wait staff to completely fill the restaurant.
  22. Basically, what is it?? I read the description and it sounded like a dining experience, but the time starts at 9am. The cabanas im use to are usually around a pool and you have it for the day with a private waiter. Is that similar to what this is or is it truly a dining experience, assuming breakfast, at 9am?? thx
  23. i also try to do keto as much as possible on cruises, although i usually fail half way through, but in regards to drinks, i stick to Scotch or gin and seltzer water. I cant think of any mix drinks that wouldn't have a ton of sugar on top of the alcohol. Either way, any alcohol will knock you out of ketosis quick, but straight liquor or maybe michelob ultra will keep you in it a little longer.
  24. Yep, that makes sense why we were able to book them in a separate cabin given its next door to ours. I think there is a connecting door between the cabins too. Thanks
  25. Given we are only 2 weeks out and just switched to Anytime dining, we arent able to make any reservation, at least before 930... We are on Apex so does that mean that we can show up to any of the 4 MDRs and they will give us a pager if there are no tables available? If thats the case, we actually prefer it. gives us some bar time prior to dinner. Also, most of the speciality restaurants are also full so has anyone just showed up to those and gotten seated or a pager? We tried this on Silhouette a month ago without much much luck. Worked once out of three tries... thanks
