And OP - keep in mind the difference between a Balcony and JS is not like that of a regular suite. Yes - you get a bathtub, a walk in closet and a wider balcony space and Coastal Kitchen for dinner - but no suite lounge, no double points and not like your getting a room that’s double the size - more like 15% bigger (it’s more  on paper - but the bath and closet take up alot of that).

Whatever you get - I’m sure you’ll be happy.

No double points in a JS?  Is this something new,  like within the past 18 months?  We've always received double points in a JS as well as priority boarding.

    Nope. That’s the point!  🙂

Now here’s my first complaint of the cruise - and I kinda expected this anyhow.

last night was formal night 1… one of our favorite activities on formals is to sit on the Promenade and people watch (pro tip : ladies - if you are gonna wear nice shoes- practice before the cruise)

    Hahaha...I can only imagine...enjoy your cruise😃

I had some success on my last two cruises in 2017/2018. I found some Blantons, Four Roses, Whistlepig Rye and Buffalo Trace. While I have much better at home, it was nice to find this and much better than some of the standard bourbon offerings.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes, I have all four here at home.  I see you're from Texas, I was actually sipping on Garrison Brothers Single Barrel Cask Strength private pick 125.1 proof from a local liquor store here in NJ.  Will you be Bourbon hunting in St. Thomas?  Someone posted on another ship I believe the Adventure that Blanton's was being sold for $89 onboard...that would be a pass for me...lol  Enjoy your cruise!  🥃🛳️

Now doesn't that make perfect sense, put them up above us so the virus can filter down on us! HA  Wouldn't it make more sense to put Vaxd up above since chance of us having it are almost nil?

Hahaha...  I'm assuming the unvaxed are in the upper level since there would be less of them than the vaxed passengers especially with the social distancing seating.  You make a good point though...lol.

I cant help but laugh at the comments here...if you dont like the requirements, dont cruise, i assure you that RCL wont bat an eye at you canceling your cruise.

Its laughable to think they are tracking you for anything malicious.  I assume you dont carry a cell phone at home either right?  Or you dont have OnStar enabled in your auto if equipped...or Alexa enabled on your Amazon devices....and so on and so on.

Believe me, you are not important enough for the cruiseline to be "tracking" you for any other purpose...the tracelet serves one purpose at this point in time...nothing more and nothing less.

    THANK YOU!  Well said!

We applied for and used the credit card to pay for our Oasis cruise in October.  We received the $100 statement credit but was suppose to get another $100 OBC.  How does this work?   Is it automatically put on the cruise or do you have to request it somewhere?

Not sure how that particular offer works but we have the RCI credit card and the points are added to your account monthly after your billing cycle.  Claims in OBC are awarded in $50 increments based on 5,000 points.  For $100 OBC you will need 10,000 points.  My guess is they're going to add 10,000 points to your account.  In order to claim the OBC you have to request them from the website: https://www.managerewardsonline.com/REWARDSapp/brp-mycruise/sign-in?4

After you make the request online the OBC will appear on your account after you board.  Hope this helps.

It was a traditional whiskey warehouse made of old wooden timbers quietly aging approximately 20,000 thousand, 53 gallon white oak barrels filled with fine Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. The alcohol would have had a barrel entry proof somewhere between 100 and 125 proof making for a very tasty Bourbon but also making it extremely flammable.

Within a four hour period, seven warehouses and the actual distillery were completely lost to the fire. Of the 44 warehouses on site, 37 survived the fire. In total, over 90,000 barrels of Bourbon were lost, two percent of the world’s whiskey at the time.

One thing that emerged from this whiskey tragedy was a great bluegrass song by the Galoots called “Heaven Hill’s on Fire.” Only seems right that a Kentucky bluegrass band would be singin’ the blues about the loss of whiskey.

He exaggerated, I finally found it for $199 a bottle.  But it's an anniversary production, the original saved from the distillery may have indeed gone for $500.

Heaven Hill makes some GREAT juice...I mean whiskey...lol.  I have quite a few of their brands including my favorite everyday bourbon Elijah Craig Bottled In Bond (white label)...

Have you tried Jefferson's Ocean bourbon? That bourbon probably has more sea time than everybody on this thread combined! I think I posted a link to their web site earlier on this thread. I highly recommend it!

I have tasted one of the voyages, not sure which one, I like it.  Think its more gimmicky than anything but nonetheless a great concept.  I can see how the motion of the sea could impact the juice in the barrel as opposed to sitting still on a rack in a wharehouse.

My SIL's dad had a bottle of the Bourbon where the distillery burned down (might have been Heaven Hill) and they were only able to save a couple cases, and supposedly this Bourbon was the Cat's Meow....like $100 a bottle or something....he used to be a prominent attorney in Houston.  Tasted like Roundup or maybe Pinesol!  Isch....I'll never understand how you drink the stuff!

Hahaha...must have been bad stuff although I've never tried Roundup or Pinesol...lol.  Some young (a couple years old) bourbons are horrible.

Yes I am a bourbon snob. Getting my collection at home bigger. Still hoping one day to score some Pappy. Here is a shot of the latest drink menu that has their list of bourbon and whiskey. Four Roses is not on the list even though I found it on Harmony in 2019. Even though it say's Templeton it was hard to find onboard also.

Sea Dog, thanks for sharing the menu...While I love rye, maybe a little more than bourbon, the requirements for the 30 day challenge is bourbon.  From this menu I could satisfy three of the days with BT, Bulleit and MM.  Maybe one day I'll get lucky and find a bottle of Pappy at retail or close to it...I refuse to pay secondary for it with all of the great non-allocated bourbon's out there.

Did they have Four Roses by any chance?

Nice...I see you enjoy the brown water as much as I do...lol.  September being National Bourbon Heritage month I participated last year in 30 days of Bourbon.  I sipped on a different bourbon each day of the month.  This year will be interesting because I will be at sea for a week and not have access to my home stash...hopefully there's at least 5 different bourbons on board and I can stop at a bar during our two port days...🛳️🥃🚢

Your signature shows Allure 9/12/21.  Did you get your check-in yet?  In case you didn't to give you some perspective, we're on Allure the week before you and we were able to check-in yesterday.  So maybe next week for you.

Shoot, you did know something I didn't! They lied to us (it's even in the Cruise Compass), that sail-away was supposed to be at 9 pm. Oh well, I missed sail-away. I'll catch it on my next cruise (Celebrity Edge, Oct 2-9, 2921). Man, I feel no vibration at all. I thought we were still tied up at the dock. 🤔. Captain must've been a little anxious to get underway and get over to Coco Cay.

Must be enjoying yourself to the fullest...didn't realize you were moving...lol.  Are you partaking in Kalik's on board...hahaha.  Enjoy yourself!

Nice! I'll be up your way this coming Jan (bbrrrr.....). I'm booked on Anthem OTS out of Caoe Liberty, NJ. 11-day S. Caribbean cruise. It amazes me that Anthem can go from NJ all the way down to the S. Caribbean & back in 11 days.

Bbrrrr is right.  I live in Jersey but sailed out of Bayonne once.  My wife and I did a 3 day cruise to nowhere on Quantum in November of 2014 after it arrived from TA, and the entire pool deck area was closed off due to icing.  Stay inside until you reach the South Carolina coast...lol
