  1. As some have already commented ... when X makes these changes with little to no notice (this change takes effect August 15th) it will not ruin my cruise but they are taking away an amenity which they advertised and which I paid for when I booked... celebrity Sky Suite prices are high but given the amenites - Butler, All Included, Retreat Lounge, Retreat Sundeck (at least on revolunionized ships), Luminae priority embarkation and disembarkation as well as tendering at tender ports... made me feel it was money well spent... however if they start removing the amenities I will have to decide if it is worth it to book Celebrity or shouId go with another line.... Between the Vaping test and the removal of Butlers I have definitely started exploring my options with other cruise lines
  2. We have Sky Suites booked (8) on the Constellation in November, the Beyond in January & The Solstice in April ... sure hope this does not happen as our Butler definitely makes the cruise much mroe personable and at what we pay for a suite I expect/want that personal detail....
  3. Thank you for the additional information - up to date HAL smoking policy... They are now back on my radar should this vaping in the casino become permanent...
  4. If This vaping policy goes fleet wide we will be talking with our feet - walking our $$ to another cruise line... Now I do agree that finding a non smoking cruise line is hard but they are there - also finding the cruise lines smoking policies is not easy... but now that will become one of my first questions when looking to book - "What is yoru smoking/vaping policy" Of the mass market lines there are realy only 3 where smoking/vaping is only allowed outside on the open decks... mostly one has to look for the smaller luxury lines ... which I am actively researching itineraires on... Now as DCL is a mass market line that does not all w smoking inside - I may have to try DCL - to date I have avoided them as wanted a cruise with a more adult vibe... As I generally book a suite the price difference will not be that great for us... To bad Celebrity is not concerned with there many loyal guests and seem to be happy to wish us "Goodbye" Yes I talked to a representative from HO and I am very afraid our concerns are falling on deaf ears.... and in this 8 week test period they will not get accuarate results as guests booked and paid under the assumption that they would be enjoiying a smoke/vape free environment... Only those of us with future bookings that are over 3 months away can change with minimum damage to our pocketbooks... I know I will definitely not be booking future sailings with X if this goes forward.... and will be cancelling those that are far enough out....
  5. I have expressed my serious concerns to Celebrity regarding Vaping in teh Casino (anywhere inside) and did get a phone call... I let Celebrity know that if this policy goes forwrad I will confirm my displeasure by taking my vacation money elsewhere... In other words will let my money do the talking... I have already investigated smoking/vaping policy on other ships and have continued by looking at their itineraries finding a couple I could switch my money to instead of sailing in what for us would be an unhealthy enviroment....
  6. Tours by Locals provided us with a fantastic guie when we did Transylvania...
  7. I am with you... I generally book 18-24 + months out.... and I was confident tht the Celebrity product fit my needs especially the NON SMOKING non toxic enviroment need which is at the top of my list... now I may have to go out looking for a new vacation destination... I am praying that this experiment fails and Celebrity maintains its CLEAN AIR enviroment = no SMOKING OR VAPING inside...
  8. I emailed on July 2nd and recieved my phone call yesterday morning....
  9. It will b interesting to see how this ends... with the dropping of this idea or a permanent backwards step with a change in policy... whereby suddenly vaping is allowed in Casinos fleet wide... that would mean me looking for a new line to sail... I have already been looking and means upgrading to a smaller luxury style line but as I normally take a suite not much difference in cost and my health is more important than $$ plus when I spend this kind of money for a vacation I do not want to have to avoid an area due to the smell and negative health impact
  10. I actually received a phone call from Celebrity this morning in response to my strongly worded opposition to allowing Vaping into the Casino.... and saying that if this goes forward as policy I will most likely cancel my 9 upcoming booked cruises and take my money elsewhere.... I received a phone call from Celebrity head office this am... They claim 1) This is only a test / pilot project for 8 weeks on 2 ships 2) Vaping is only allowed in specific areas of Casino - not the entire Casino (CC reports are that it is entire Casino) 3) Vapors must be actively gambling (according to those currently aboard this is not true) 4) So far "Not impacting the present sailing guests at all" (then why are we all hearing about it and providing our negative feedback) If 2 & 3 from above are being disregarded than a report should be made to Guest Services immediately and action will be taken... Further they do not want to loose me as a loyal customer.... Therefore my concerns have been noted... At least I rated a phone call not a form letter / email response....
  11. I know I know!!! But at least I got a phone call... I made sure she noted my strong objection and the fact that we will walk our money elsewhere should this policy become permanent....
  12. You'll just have to come party in my room!!!!
  13. I received a phone call from Celebrity head office this am... 14. I emailed but so far no reply ... I am sure we have overwhelmed them with all our emails... thank you all you took the time to express your thoughts on Vaping in the Casino....
  15. I too have written to Celebrity about my concern with this potential policy change and if it does take effect will show my displeasure by cancelling some 9 cruises that I have booked... I can as easily spend my money with the few luxury lines that limit smoking/vaping to exterior decks... And some even offer better itineraries... more exotic and after 100 cruises I tend to look for the more exoctic / out of the norm ports of call/itinerairy
  16. I am not saying folks cannot smoke or vape just NOT INSIDE There are lines granted the more expensive luxury lines that remain smoke/vaping free and I can & will move to them if this smoking/vaping pilot project becomes policy...
  17. I am shocked to hear of this Policy Change - I do hope it is a Pilot Project that fails! I have written to executiveoffice@celebrity.com to express my dismay about Celebrity allowing Vaping in the Casino... My Husband & I who are avid Cruise fans became very loyal to Celebirity with one of the main reasons being Celebrity's No Smoking Policy inside... We totally avoid the exterior smoking areas but it is impossible to avoid the Casino as expecially on the older ships one must walk thru the Casino or change decks to get from bow to stern... Yes we are very sensitive to smoke and go out of our way to avoid it... Presently we have 9 cruises booked and if this vaping in the Casino policy goes ahead than there we will be cancelling our future cruises and I will look to find a line that does inforce a no inside smoking policy... And darn I was looking forward to obtaining the Zenith Designation in early 2024... I guess I am lucky in that all 9 cruises are still over 90 days in the future....
  18. We have sailed on all the E class of ships and absolutely love them... However having said that we love both the M & S class of ships too as all have their pros & cons.... For a hot weather cruise I especially love an E class as the Retreat Sundeck is marvellous but again not unhappy with any of the ships...
  19. The port web site indicates a free shuttle bus (that takes about 20 minutes) for cruise passengers... ortherwise the public bus is 2.1E
  20. Choice between the Constellation and the Beyond... Yes I have sailed both... and I am booked for future cruises on both... Think a lot depends on the itinerary... If I am hot weather area (i.e. Caribbean) I would go for the Beyond over the Constellation as the Beyond Retreat Sundeck is fabulous... whereas as the Constellation has not been "Revoluntionized" yet she has NO Retreat Sundeck.... Luminae is wonderful on the Beyond as the restaurant wraps right around the bow of the ship... however you can only order from Luminae menu ... but you can always opt to dine in any of teh Main Dining Rooms if you prefer their menu one night... and the Beyond offers a larger assortment of Speciality Restaurants Beyond has a much larger and more varied scope of entertainment But for a cruise in cooler climates I would definitely opt to save some money as I would not miss the Retreat Sundeck which to me is the biggest lack for Retreat Guests on the Constellation... However always your choice....
  21. We sailed on the Connie last November and all was excellent - condition of ship - service - food - entertainment Only Caveat I give is the Indian Dinner (for a surcharge) IMO not worth it... all my friends said it was excellent however I live in Surrey BC which is like living in "Little India" and one gets supurb Indian cusine locally so what the ship offered did not rate IMO compared to what I am used to at home....
  22. Thank you that is helpful... and I would love to tour the street with the Christmas shops again... However think this may have to wait a cruise as a good friend has organized a full day tour out of Naples for us...
  23. Could someone that has done this from the port please give detailed instructions on how to get to the starting point... I found the directions given on teh web site very confusing,,,
  24. Well at least you are getting double points... Know I have some Mariner points but do not know how many... will have to try to figure out how to check on that....
  25. That is sort of what I am seeing My favorite perks are the "Laundry" and the suite only dinning room & lounge... the other perks I can definitely live without... so not seeing that unless I go to top tier and on one of the newer ships and the itinerary I like is on an older ship....
