  1. Isn’t 13306 under the Windjammer? I‘d be concerned about noise from above not just from a neighbor. I’d go with 6542.
  2. By my count, March 23 is 45 days before your cruise. If the date in the app does not change by March, I’d check the app on the 22nd though I would not be surprised if check in does not open until 45 days out on the 23rd.
  3. My best guess is that check in will open 45 days before your cruise. Is your cruise April 8 or April 9?
  4. So on Carnival BYOB means Bring Your Own Balls🤣😉
  5. Let’s deal with the easy one first. I see no reason to cancel the baby today. The baby sails under KSF. The same amount (just taxes and fees) will be refunded whether baby is cancelled today or if baby is a no show. And there is a real chance baby will sail. Keeping the baby on the reservation means there are at least three on the reservation, so perhaps the party is less likely to be moved to a different cabin. Hopefully a travel agent with more knowledge about cancellation policy for the fourth passenger will post soon. I’d think I’d be hesitant to cancel a passenger who may yet be able to sail.
  6. Interestingly the OP is a member of the “silent generation.” 🤷‍♀️
  7. Bottom line, your previous post was disingenuous. In fact you do still fly and are able to do very long flights when it suits you.
  8. If you live in California and no longer fly, how are going to do a transatlantic cruise in fall of 2024 without any flying?
  9. If you had a Travel Agent, it was always your Travel Agent’s job to speak to Royal Caribbean. You should not have been calling Royal Caribbean nor trying to run for first base.
  10. With the RoyalUp bidding for upgrades, Royal Caribbean would not need to give a free upgrade in the situation you describe in your post. Instead the person in a balcony who placed the highest bid for a JS could be upgraded and Royal Caribbean collects the bid amount. That upgrade frees up their balcony cabin to be assigned to your balcony gty booking. You may or may not like the location of the balcony cabin vacated by that high bidder. You may have the opportunity to place a RoyalUp bid for a JS. If so, you could be the high bidder in your hypothetical scenario. RoyalUp is the most common form of upgrade now.
  11. Interesting. Do you know if they removed after a single offense or for repeat offense(s) after a warning?
  12. This thread is a good reminder to all of us considering B2B or S2S cruises and such that segments can be canceled for various reasons, including a charter or mechanical issue. Before booking, think about the impact of the cancellation of one segment on your trip. Consider if you want to mitigate against that risk (perhaps refundable deposit or cancel for any reason insurance) or if you would go ahead with the remaining segments regardless of any cancellations/itinerary changes.
  13. I am currently waiting for a gty assignment on odyssey. Like you, I booked a gty balcony understanding the risks. Still, considering the pricing pattern when we booked and the limited time we spend on our balcony, we decided the gty was a reasonable decision. And if we do get one of those, deck six is a convenient location. Whatever our assignment, it won’t stop us from considering gty vs picking our own cabin on a cruise by cruise basis in the future.
  14. You have a couple choices. You could leave the old card number. If you win, the charge will fail. Others on CC have said plusgrade gave them a chance to fix the charge issue. Personally, if I really wanted the upgrade I wouldn’t trust that plusgrade would wait, but some might take that gamble. Your other choice is to cancel all the old bids and enter new ones with a new card number. The only risk here is that plusgrade may have raised the minimum bids in the interim. Or dropped them, but sorry to say your luck does not seem to be going that way today.
  15. With the UDP you must wait to make reservations when you board… that’s the trade-off for the savings.
  16. They are not necessarily the worst cabins, though one has to be psychologically prepared for the worst if you book a gty. What ship? Some ships have far more “problem” balconies than other ships. How picky are you about location? Some people (like me) are happy almost anywhere. Others are unhappy with many cabins (this one is too far forward, that one is too close to the elevator lobby, the other one is over a bar, another is too far aft…)
  17. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps snap a photo of the repeat violation and report again with photographic evidence as often as necessary
  18. If they still have not been able to check in, try to your friend’s reservation to yours in your app. Hopefully you will then be able to grab a check in time for them on your device.
  19. Yeah, when the smoker is close it can be pretty easy. It is harder if they are multiple decks/cabins away; hopefully someone closer steps up. I’ve reported 2 smokers. One was right next to us on NCL on windless day 1 before sailaway. The other was smoking on BW balcony across from us, tapping his ash carelessly, so I just snapped photos and strolled down to GS. People always say there’s no privacy on those balconies.
  20. People who want the ban enforced should be prepared to call guest services to report violations.
  21. To continue to adding lines: NCL, Disney and MSC also do not allow smoking on guest balconies.
  22. As the OP is willing to take an inside cabin, I would think an unexpected cancellation might eventually benefit if it first passed through RoyalUp. Let’s say a person in a JS cancelled and vacated JS went to RoyalUp; a couple or set of RoyalUp upgrades would occur eventually somebody would vacate their inside cabin due to an upgrade. Royal Caribbean now has an inside cabin to sell.
  23. Some people had issues with set sail pass not showing last year. Some reported success after going on their computer (rather than app) to edit check in, going through all the pages again (auto filled) to make sure everything is populated correctly. Pay special attention to country drop downs (those entries reportedly disappeared and caused trouble for some others). Hopefully your set sail pass will be visible once you finish the check in a second time. The gty apple wallet hack does not always work. Sometimes Royal just waits a while to assign your cabin. I have waited until 3-4 days before sailing but have known before arriving at pier.
  24. For each cruise, I write down my price before taxes and port fees. I use that as my benchmark when I do mock bookings for price drops, always looking at price before taxes and ports fees. Port fees and taxes do change; often they go up. If one is not careful one could miss a price drop that is offset by a change in port and taxes.
  25. Diamond drinks have changed. Most of us enjoy the change very much. You will now each receive four vouchers per day. They can be used for any drink up to $14 at any time of day at almost any bar or restaurant. Gone are the hour restrictions and very limited alcohol choices for your Diamond drinks. You are still welcome to go to the D lounge for appetizers and concierge and conversation, though you will need to use your vouchers for drinks orders in the lounge. Or you can go to the other bars and such.
