  1. @Momof3gurlzI was pleased to read your post about your visit to NYC. You did a lot in the time you were there. That is a lovely photo of both of you with the tree. Your post made me nostalgic about our visits there. My hubby and I used to go into the City a few days after New Year’s while the decorations were still up, but the crowds had gone. We had two steakhouses we enjoyed- Rothman’s which has closed and Smith and Wolensky - not sure if they reopened after a fire. When we do get back to the City,we will try Gallagher’s. We are familiar with the name, just haven’t gone there -yet. Wishing all who celebrate Hanukkah a very pleasant and blessed holiday. MJ🙋🏻
  2. Princess ships have had laundry rooms on each cabin deck n all of their ships. We found that feature to be very useful. The Landry rooms also had ironing boards and irons. While some people do not see the benefit of doing laundry while on a cruise,we never minded it as we could pack less .We would put in a load or two, return to the cabin, enjoy the balcony then check on the laundry after the allotted time of a cycle.Especially on a sea day, it wasn’t too much trouble. We haven’t sailed on Carnival, but I think there are laundry rooms on their ships. Cunard also has laundry rooms on their ships. It was a great help when we were on a TA to Southampton then spent a week in London. MJ🙋🏻
  3. @BonTexasNY You know what they say...You can take the girl out of NY,but you can’t take the NY out of the girl ! 😉 Whenever we returned on a ship to the NYC ship terminal or the terminal in Red Hook,Bklyn,I made sure that I was out on the balcony as we went past the Statue of Liberty. In those early morning hours, the statue was lit up and I never got tired of seeing her. Goosebumps and a bit of a tear in the eyes. Wishing everyone of Dani’s posters a lovely day, especially all celebrating a birthday today. MJ🙋🏻
  4. Dani - Great that you get together with HS friends.I have three friends from HS also and we are very close- sisters, really ,as none of us have sisters, but they have brothers. Sad to hear about your friend’s fire. Luckily, they were safe from it. Clothes can be replaced, people, not so much. Your friend’s balcony reminds me of a garden wall that is in a lobby of one of our favorite hotels in Jensen Beach,FL. I will attempt to include some photos of it. Take care MJ🙋🏻
  5. Graham- wishing you a quick and thorough recovery from today’s surgery. To all of the posters here- wishing everyone a pleasant day. MJ🙋🏻
  6. @irisheileen In the past, preCovid, we booked the Sanctuary with two ways. One, once we had priority boarding due to loyalty status, we had early boarding of the ship. We went directly to the Sanctuary and we’re able to book two loungers for DH and me. Before we had priority boarding, we would get up very early to get to the Sanctuary in time to book loungers for that day. Please! Do not think friends on the cruise previous to yours would be able to book the Sanctuary!!!!! I am certain that the staff there would not accommodate such a request if there was a way to check on the departure day of your friends’ cruise. I am not certain what info is stored on the medallion. How unfair to even think of doing such a thing!😱 Enjoy your cruise! MJ
  7. Lenny- Glad that you posted a photo of your younger self and that Marietta, @DaniDanielle helped to post a recent photo of you. Good to put a face with a name. Posting the photos is proof that us dinosaurs can deal with computer technology and that old dogs can learn new tricks ! Take care MJ🙋🏻
  8. Lenny Goto the bottom of the thread page. You will see a rectangle with reply to topic - hit that line. Then you will see AddFiles - hit that line Photo choices come up. Hit photo library. Select photo from there. Photo will appear on your reply post page. Hit submit reply in the blue box on the lower right of the screen. Photo should appear on the thread page. Hope this helps ! MJ🙋🏻
  9. I will try that.... It worked! Ihadn’t tried the quote line, just tried to reply from the bottom of the tread page. Thanks! MJ🙋🏻
  10. Lenny- I hit a glitch posting a photo! I have them on the iPhone but can’t get it to transfer to CC. It may be CC or me,but I have done this before. I can try later or ,as I wrote before, maybe your granddaughter can help you when she gets home. That way,you can see what she is doing or,she can walk you through posting with your devices. Wish I could help! MJ🙋🏻
  11. Lenny- You mentioned about trying to post a photo from your iPhone to CC. I have two suggestions- Perhaps your granddaughter can help you with it when she gets home from college? The younger ones keep us going with the tech stuff, for sure. The other is I will try to post from my iPhone and then post you the steps. Hoping to help- MJ🙋🏻
  12. @akcruz Now, you have me thinking about different designs for a jewelry collection. How about a vase with flowers,or a sunburst, or a star. When you do make your design, I hope you post a photo of the final project. MJ🙋🏻
  13. That creation is lovely! You could leave it on display after Christmas as it is in a pretty frame- why not? Have you considered doing these jewelry creations as a business? You could take people’s collections and put them in a design and frame it. MJ🙋🏻
  14. @LucasLikesToCruise Lucas, please accept my condolences for the loss of your Mom. My husband and I were caretakers for my Mother who lived with us and passed at 93. Taking care of a loved one is not always an easy task. There were difficulties caring for Mom to be truthful. She would often say that she wished she could help us more with her care. I would say that all she needed to do was cooperate. With all those difficult times, there were plenty of good times too and we certainly loved each other. In the end, I wouldn’t have done anything differently. Please take to heart that you were a good son who cared for his mother. I wish you peace and a healing heart. MJ
  15. @Ozark_KidThank you for posting the video of Kenzie. She is a light to brighten this thread. Hoping Santa is very good to that little girl! I am sure that she will have a delightful Christmas. MJ🙋🏻
  16. @HBE4 I would like to add my condolences to you and your daughter for the recent loss of your dear wife. Reading your posts that shared your wife’s journey, I thought you were the most caring and loving husband, being by your wife’s side and searching for the best possible care for her. She knew that you were with her all the days of the past year and a half. The love you both shared is still there- love never goes away. I wish you peace and healing for your heart in the days to come. My sincere sympathy- MJ🙋🏻
  17. One word- demographics . @CharmedLiferYou may want to consider a different cruise line for your vacations. For example,Celebrity and Princess have higher fares than Carnival, but those cruises have ,for the most part, a different clientele. IMHO,you get what you pay for.😉
  18. @KeksieYour home is ready for Christmas! Are some of the tree decorations hand made? They are the best kind! We have an ornament made by one of our nieces who is now a Mom of two children. We have an ornament they made for us on the tree also. Wishing all here a pleasant day! MJ🙋🏻
  19. Our office is red with white trim like your kitchen. We also have a red front door. So,I agree, red is a great color! MJ🙋🏻
  20. @TravelGirlinDallas Your home is so very welcoming! The decorations are lovely. Wishing you ,your hubby and son a happy Christmas . MJ🙋🏻
  21. Not certain that passengers on a Carnival ship are interested in visiting the library for books or board games. Perhaps those on HAL or Cunard would be more likely to visit the library. Just MHO. MJ
  22. If the rogue wave incident that @mugtech is referring to is the one involving a Viking ship, I saw a brief report of it on ABC news this morning. It looked to me that the wave hit windows on a lower portion of the ship. There may have been a public area such as a lounge behind those windows. Balconies on the ship did not seem to be affected as far as I could tell. The woman passenger who died from the incident was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or,how some may see it, it was her time. Regardless of that point of view of this tragic accident, I am certain that her family and friends will be deeply affected by her loss. The seas looked very rough and gray with serious white caps. Such an incident would not deter us from booking a balcony cabin,if we ever decide to take a cruise again. We are more concerned about becoming ill with Covid than being affected by a rogue wave. Our choice and decision. MJ🙋🏻
