  1. We love the Wind Surf. It has been a while (2018) since we were on it last, we booked a 22-day cruise for November on the Surf and can't wait! (Barcelona-Lisbon-St Maarten).

Having extra dining choices and that fabulous crew makes it always a fantastic adventure.

  2. We just booked a transatlantic for November 2023 on Windstar's Wind Surf. Starting that cruise off in Barcelona- Lisbon, then 14 days to St Maarten.  22 days total!

Just got off the Windstar, 18 days- Barbados to Puerto Caldera. Beautiful adventure, only 106 passengers!

Looking forward to a transatlantic, been a bucket list item for me for years.

  3. I am a sommelier, and usually get the drink package. I was on the Mariner of the Sea a few months ago and not real impressed with the wine list.

There were also a lot of inconsistencies with what wines were available by the glass and where. For example a wine I could get on the package by the glass in the casino was available, but in the dining room the same wine was on the list but NOT available by the glass, only per bottle. That made no sense to me. I inquired and was told that's just the way it is.

We just returned from 18 days aboard Wind Star (Costa Rica, Panama Canal and southern Caribbean (Caldera to Barbados). I just posed a review of the voyage but I wanted to post something here for those who are still hesitant about cruising.

We had just 50-60 guests on our b-to-b cruises. Ours was the first voyage of Wind Star after a brief COVID shutdown. We were hesitant but decided to go anyway. It was possibly the nicest cruise we have ever been on. With so few guests, we met, had drinks, dinners and socialized with almost all of them.

COVID restrictions (masks, social distancing and testing) were not so severe as to spoil the voyage. We were tested a couple of times, including pre-boarding, mostly due to port requirements. We had zero positive COVID cases during the entire trip. The Windstar open bridge policy was suspended and there were no special dinner with the ships officers. All officers and crew were masked except when occasional guests insisted on seeing their smiling faces. Apart from those minor limitations, the cruise was really quite normal and absolutely worthwhile.

Ports are really hurting. Many shops are closed entirely. It may be a long time before they recover.

We are doing that cruise in November. Hopefully most restrictions will be lifted by then. Thanks for the Write-up!
