  1. We did it on the Imagination in 2018- it was  fun. Great galley tour- lots of appetizers.

The wine selection was decent, and the food was well prepared and plated very nicely. I do have our menu somewhere, if I can find it I will post it.

  2. I am 99 days from sailing and they just gave me $500 OBC, and a $225 certificate for future cruise good for two years.  And I didn't lose the free gratuities that I received on another price adjustment.

    Well done WS.

  3. We always try to be the last people on board... it's a little contest we have, always ask how many people are left. The later you can stay in some of these little ports, the more you witness what life is really like there without the crowds.

  4. According to my Windstar agent:

It was 120, they changed it but do not lower your price between 90-120 days. Instead they offer you the value of the difference.

It will come in the form of a SBC, a Future Cruise Credit or a fare reduction, depending on the dollar amount. They will also deduct existing values on your booking when figuring out compensation.

  5. We booked our cruise for this October, last December. At that time the price was $4599 pp. During the next few months it was reduced to $3199.... each time it went down, I called Windstar and had a price reduction to my fare. I am now within the 120 day mark of departure and the price today went down to $2199 pp. $1000 less than my last booking price. Knowing the 120 day rule, I called them today to see what they can do. I haven't heard back yet, they said it could take 72 hours. I don't expect a fare reduction, but I do expect, a cabin upgrade or OBC. We will see. I'll post what they offer me.

  6. I am a Sommelier, and I work with local wineries during their blending process to 'nail down' the desired wine that they want to produce. So I usually bring wines not normally available internationally for trade- and they in turn have offered me wines not normally for sale to tours.

I have also offered wine to crew members who show an interest in wine, and also WS now has SOMMs on board, for a bottle wine- they will take better care of you too....

  7.

I booked our upcoming cruise 10 months before departure and weekly logged on to the website to see rate changes.

My initial cabin price pp was $4599, 3 months later it went to $3299,  2 months later $2999.... each time re-booked it- they changed me $50 fee pp each time, but gave that back to me in SBC. Average time on the phone with WS per change- 10 minutes. Totally worth my time.

Your TA won't do that for you, I always book directly with WS. I am 117 days out... looking each week for that last deal.
