We did it on the Imagination in 2018- it was fun. Great galley tour- lots of appetizers.
The wine selection was decent, and the food was well prepared and plated very nicely. I do have our menu somewhere, if I can find it I will post it.

You can do whatever you want.... I like to sit in the Veranda with a drink and wave goodbye to those leaving 🙂

I have worn my dark blue Sketchers on my last three Windstar Cruises. Not a word has ever been said about them.
-
For my upcoming cruise, I called Windstar 5 times every time there was a new deal and I received every one. Never an issue.

We got an upgrade yesterday for our cruise in October to a Balcony Suite on the Legend! Thanks Windstar!

I have gotten WiFi on board the Wind Surf in the past with okay results- what is everyone's experience with the WiFi on the Star Legend?
I called Windstar and they said it was only good for email.
Thanks

If you want swimming, then you can jump off the back of the boat at the water sports platform. They have lots of 'pool' toys for you to enjoy.

I am 99 days from sailing and they just gave me $500 OBC, and a $225 certificate for future cruise good for two years. And I didn't lose the free gratuities that I received on another price adjustment.
Well done WS.

We love this ship and the entire crew. Can't wait for until the next time we sail on her!

We always try to be the last people on board... it's a little contest we have, always ask how many people are left. The later you can stay in some of these little ports, the more you witness what life is really like there without the crowds.

We have ordered room service and then brought it up to a deck where no one is with a bottle of wine and enjoyed a nice quiet romantic dinner alone.

My quote from above was from a Windstar sales person, not a travel agent.

According to my Windstar agent:
It was 120, they changed it but do not lower your price between 90-120 days. Instead they offer you the value of the difference.
It will come in the form of a SBC, a Future Cruise Credit or a fare reduction, depending on the dollar amount. They will also deduct existing values on your booking when figuring out compensation.

We booked our cruise for this October, last December. At that time the price was $4599 pp. During the next few months it was reduced to $3199.... each time it went down, I called Windstar and had a price reduction to my fare. I am now within the 120 day mark of departure and the price today went down to $2199 pp. $1000 less than my last booking price. Knowing the 120 day rule, I called them today to see what they can do. I haven't heard back yet, they said it could take 72 hours. I don't expect a fare reduction, but I do expect, a cabin upgrade or OBC. We will see. I'll post what they offer me.

LOL... yes the perfect wine at a good price....

As far as I know- The SOMM that was on the Surf last summer I talked to a month ago and he was heading back out on another contract with WS.
Their purpose is up-sale, and suggest wines for those that need assistance. They also track the wine inventory on the ship.
-
I am a Sommelier, and I work with local wineries during their blending process to 'nail down' the desired wine that they want to produce. So I usually bring wines not normally available internationally for trade- and they in turn have offered me wines not normally for sale to tours.
I have also offered wine to crew members who show an interest in wine, and also WS now has SOMMs on board, for a bottle wine- they will take better care of you too....
-
We bring some of our favorite wines on board- some higher ends wines that are not available on board. I also take some on winery tours and use them for trade for local wines.
-
All the cruise I have done on WS, we have never opened the minibar..... watching this thread....
-
We bring wine on board on every trip- rarely do we bring a bottle into the dining room- since we do the package, we order wine for meals. The wine we bring is for before dinner in the cabin or to refill our wine glass for an evening stroll around the ship.
-
Back to Back is the only way to go.... why do just one, while you are there do another!
-
Some nice wines listed there as well....

I booked our upcoming cruise 10 months before departure and weekly logged on to the website to see rate changes.
My initial cabin price pp was $4599, 3 months later it went to $3299, 2 months later $2999.... each time re-booked it- they changed me $50 fee pp each time, but gave that back to me in SBC. Average time on the phone with WS per change- 10 minutes. Totally worth my time.
Your TA won't do that for you, I always book directly with WS. I am 117 days out... looking each week for that last deal.

I have often wondered how some people in this have over 10,000 posts..... in watching this thread I now understand how that happens.
