  1. I was out last night and I got an email this morning from a friend that the 3-12-16 Adventure of the Seas had a price drop to $190.00 for many categories of rooms. My friend quickly booked 2 for us. Anyone else get in on the deal?

We booked D3's for 502.00 for two people including taxes for 7 nights. This morning the prices are all back to normal and there are only 3 balconies left for double passengers.

    One caveat, it did not allow us to use our Diamond Balcony discount on the room, but I will take the great price.:;

  2. I've been advised to NOT call. And wait a few days. The issue could also theoretically be something entirely unrelated as we have several future bookings.

Based on what I've read here and on other threads, I'm guessing 15-20 (?) cabins were booked at these low rates with a price differential of $800 per cabin. Assuming 20 cabins were booked, that's $16K of lost revenue. This amount could easily be recouped by RCL (via rate increases as mentioned above) and is insignificant when considering the big financial picture.

Maybe it is the upgrade fairy:):)

  3. Got email from RCL this morning. Canceling 9/11 cruise and not booking 9/18 cruise, not interested in spending two days in Puerto Rico. Disappointed never been on Member's (President) cruise.

Can you copy the email? I am booked on this cruise and haven't received any change to the itinerary.

  4. Thank you VERY much! I thought this was the case but I have a TA on the phone telling me that I would be paying the new rate and I knew that is not correct. When I questioned it she wasn't sure any longer OMG.

I'm in New York so yes USA :)

If you booked under a resident rate and/or Senior or Military and that person was the only one eligible, they will reprice the cruise at current rates. This just happened to me when I helped my friend cancel her mothers room and add her husband. The mom was a Senior.

  5. I have gotten the upsell call/email where they offer you an upsell from one category to another for X amount of dollars.

This morning I got an email from RCL with an offer to Upgrade my view for up to 50% off. So if I paid $200 for my inside and the OV is at $360 per person for a difference of $160 they will upgrade me from an inside to an OV for $80 per person. I assume that is how it would work?? This is a 4 day cruise. No Thanks

Has anyone gotten this email and followed up on it. I can't call yet. They are not open.

Upgrade my view for up to 50% off.

The magic words: up to 50%

  6. My high school best friend was turning 50 and had never gone on a cruise. We lived in different parts of the country and didn't see each other too much. She had always heard me talk about cruising and Grand Suites.

It was easy to get through check-in becasue she had no clue about anything. She had never been away from her girls for any length of time. She was planning a big Girl Scout trip for them to Europe and didn't have any extra money so I told her lets just get an inside room on a 3 day.

I upgraded to a GS without telling her. On the way to the room, there were some doors open to inside rooms. We looked in one and you could see her thinking, my this is small. We got to the GS and I said let's look in this one to see it. I said Happy Birthday! She started crying and was flabbergasted. The whole trip was wonderful.

  7. Another Royal IT failure... they should have a process in place that locks the cabin to a reservation in progress.. not allow two simultaneous reservations to book the same cabin

They do have a system in place. It normally locks out the room choice for 15 minutes. This happened to me when booking a JS on Vision a few years ago. I booked several rooms with the JS being the first one. It took considerable time to do all 4 rooms before finalizing payments. I paid and the TA called me back immediately because my payment wasn't accepted and there were no more JS available to book me under. I ended getting upgraded to a GS since I had made payment and there were no more rooms available in that category.

  8. On Oasis now. The breakfast menu is pretty much the same in CK as in the dining room. I will try to take a picture of the menu in the morning

Can you ask the concierge if you are able to use the express customs line for suite guests if you do not get walked off with them at 8:30?

    Thanks for your report.

  9. This was posted on facebook from the Royal Caribbean FB page.

User Question:I booked a suite on Harmony of the Seas for 2017. I heard there are going to be new suite perks. Will those perks apply to me even though I already booked the cruise?

Royal Caribbean International Hi Sarah, thanks for your question. The Royal Suite Class program will be available beginning September 8th, 2015 for sailings departing May 2016 and beyond.

Sarah Dougal So what happens to the people who booked a suite prior to Sept 8? Are they entitled to the new suite perks?

    AND

With Royal Caribbean being excited about their new Royal Suite Class announcement involving only the Oasis and Quantum Class, will these new amenities ever be applied to those who cruise your other class ships in suites? To be honest with you I have no desire to cruise Oasis or Quantum Class, I enjoy the Freedom, Voyager and the Vision Class. We have always cruised in either a Grand Suite or Owners Suite. Even Royal has admitted that their suite perks needed to improve when compared to the competition. Now that your started how about including the rest of your Suite People in the amenities or let us know that some day we may be excited about suite perks on your other ship!

Royal Caribbean International Thanks for your feedback, James. We currently don't have plans to implement Royal Suite Class fleetwide. Please visit http://*******/1HEmuc2 for more info.

  10. Sometimes there is a free code to join. I would do a search of these boards and Google. I joined free 3 years ago and got great rates. In fact one time I booked 3 rooms for a girls cruise for 11 people and they gave me a king room. It was no problem getting an upgrade to a better room. When I used p&h I could never get an upgrade and they were always the least desirable rooms.

  11. SeaPass cards are programmed to open the appropriate lounge door for those C&A Members eligible to enter. The Concierge also knows who is and who is not supposed to have access to their respective lounge by facial recognition. You can ask, but please don't put the Concierge in a position that will cause embarrassment for either of you if the answer is not what you are hoping for.

Mom, being a Diamond Member will have 3 drink vouchers loaded onto her SeaPass card each eveningthat she can use at most any lounge during the hours of 5-8:30 (4:30-8). Kids should have sodas added and I am assuming that your children are under 18. You all could just meet in a lounge in the evening before dinner.

Thanks, I didn't realize kids had soda loaded on their cards.
