I'm looking forward to your Morimoto review. Reading the menu and looking at the price, I just am not excited to try it. I've read mixed reviews here on CC about the lobster dish offered in the MDR and it doesn't sound like it's to my taste. Sooooooo............let's see what @POA1 and @Huskerchick thought!! No pressure!!! Ha Ha ~Nancy

A Few New Items added to the pre-purchase page
oakridger replied to QuattroRomeo's topic in Holland America Line
Maybe @POA1 or @Huskerchick could let you know where their buddy Poohby Joe gets his wardrobe tailored? 😉 I would guess that he and Lewie would hit it off! -
Why I Will Never Book With Windstar Again - Tahiti
oakridger replied to FlightMedic555's topic in Windstar Cruises
I am the OP for the thread you referenced. After my TA spoke with Windstar about rebooking, I was able to get my preferred date and the OBC offered as well as the rate and perks from my original sailing dates. I really am not happy to hear they snatched away your cruise with such short notice but if you discuss this one on one with Windstar, hopefully they will accommodate a rebooking at the time frame that works for you. Windstar really did work to make it up to me and I am now happy with the new dates, perks and fare! @FlightMedic555Best wishes to you and your friends for a good resolution. ~Nancy -
Koningsdam Neptune Suite Third Bed (Three Single Adults)
oakridger replied to Sea-n-Ease's topic in Holland America Line
The top picture is not a Neptune Suite fold out bed. It looks like a regular Veranda Suite. Bottom picture looks like a Neptune or Signature Suite in the non-Pinnacle ships. Is that correct Neptune cruisers? ~Nancy -
The OP @graceinga seems to have gone sailing.............................................................

how Many People Started Cruising Before 1995
oakridger replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Holland America Line
Even before Royal Viking Line? 🙂 We compared notes a couple of years ago and my first cruise was on RVL from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta. My bestie worked for RVL in San Francisco in the late 70's early 80's. She remembers your name! -
The fast answer is that Norway, Netherlands and the UK are almost completely cashless! I don't know about France and Italy firsthand though. A couple of my hotels in Norway on my upcoming trip even caution in their website that they are completely cashless and have no cash on premises. Read the locals comments in these recent threads:

If you don't want to take the Windstar Air Tahiti Nui package, there currently are nonstop flights from San Francisco to Papeete Tahiti so you wouldn't need to go to Los Angeles unless you want to. United has a non-stop day flight from SFO to PPT at 13:20 to 18:55 French Bee has a non-stop night flight from SFO to PPT at 23:20 to 04:40

Just a guess, but maybe they want to continue sailing "incognito" until they are through the Suez Canal? Of course, any entity with sophisticated technology can easily track them anyway, but just to be off the easy tracking sites might be advantageous. Anyone who actually knows about this stuff have any ideas? ~Nancy

Thank you @Old Sea Dog and @Jayayeff. I will check those sites you provided! ~Nancy

I've been "Viking Ocean Curious" ever since the line started sailing when a good friend sailed on them and absolutely loved it! The pay in full policy has been one of the big reasons I haven't booked yet. It's a huge turn off for me even though I think I'd really love the product. Maybe I'll change my mind. Tor Hagen is filling the ships, so he's not worried about me and likeminded folks. ~Nancy

Indonesian Tea Time vs. Tea Time
oakridger replied to Trish Traveler's topic in Holland America Line
@Trish Traveler Thank you for reporting back. That was my feeling way back in 2006 which is why I haven't gone back to a teatime on HAL. No Clotted Cream for the scones! It's just not anything unique or memorable unfortunately. ~Nancy -
Thanks! So many of us Cruise nerds have really missed that extra camera on PTZ!! ~Nancy

The Pinnacle breakfast hours are the same as the MDR breakfast hours. The times will be listed in the Navigator App, cabin TV and Daily When and Where paper. The hours fluctuate based on whether it's a port or sea day, for example. Here's a recent listing from @The-Inside-Cabin Thanks Pete! ~Nancy

Rotterdam show times and Dressy night questions..
oakridger replied to AACJ's topic in Holland America Line
Found it! It's in the Sold Out list of sailings, I looked at the itinerary to give you a "best guess" on the Dressy Night date but the website won't show the itinerary. Tell us the itinerary and I'll try to help. ~Nancy -
@Old Sea Dog would you be able to share that website please? It does sound interesting, and I would like to have a look at it. Thank you, ~Nancy
