Oh. My. God. Your family handled this ridiculous situation well as possible, and yes... please pursue compensation (and keep us posted). This should not happen to anyone!
I believe there is a Port Valet form that you fill out for baggage fees (we had no charges flying first class). Also, be sure your checked bags are not overweight, or that will be additional.
Yes... that is correct.
Added to say: I believe if you are double boosted, the pre-sail test can be 3 days prior. I would verify that with the cruiseline though.
Arriving where? Flight from where?
If you are in port at 7am, (and not sailing) you should be able to use your own mobile data (US port) to do a proctored test in your cabin before disembarking. The results are sent to your phone on 15 minutes.
If you are all "able bodied" with reasonable baggage and weather permitting, it is only a 15-20 minute walk (1.0 km) from Canada Place to the Sutton Place. If not, then perhaps split into two groups and grab a taxi.
Thanks so much for this informative post. I wasn't aware of this dining experience, and just saw it today on the app. I thought it seemed rather spendy, but your description puts it into perspective.
Just saw a new dining event on the Nav App called Pinnacle Gala... offered on cruises of 10 days or longer. $120/pp +18% service charge. While we enjoy fine dining, that seems a bit steep. Thoughts?
Honestly, things are so fluid right now, that any given wine menu, on any given ship, can (and will) change. Wine stocking is not immune to supply chain issues. We have always found wines in the SBP that suited us.
Go, sail, have fun.
Wow.... I just checked on this sailing too, and the TA site is stating "only guarantees available" for every single category! I have never seen that before, and I highly doubt this sailing is already at capacity. Hmmmmm.
After reading your post from the start, all I can say is HAL's onboard covid protocol is a hot mess! The lack of timely and consistent communication is absolutely APPALLING!! These ships have had more than enough time to define and execute covid procedures so that it's not a damn three-ring circus!
Thanks for the replies! I simply was not "up to date" on the Vista Class of ships when I booked the Noordam (our Oosterdam sailing was many years ago!) I am totally looking forward to a smaller ship. But now... how to break the news to the DH about no Tamarind?! 😯😥😁
Not new to HAL, but new to Noordam. Is there a fee to use the hydro pool, and if so, what's the fee? Also, I'm not seeing a Tamarind on Noordam... yes? no?
Any Noordam insights we should know about? Many thanks!
