14 day round trip Vancourer to Alaska or 7 day option?
Cbtours replied to Cruisingnew's topic in Alaska
We did the return trip last year in May. Our first Alaska trip (from Australia). After weighing up all the pros and cons, inc should we do land portion etc, I came to the conclusion that I could see great countryside, mountains etc here in Australia, but I would never see all the glaciers and magnificent scenery that is Alaska. So we did the return trip. yes we stopped at the same 3 ports but that was huge benefit as so much to do in each one it meant we could see more. it was the trip of a lifetime! The BEST place we have ever gone too. -

For us, who live in Australia, it is such a “vast “Island” that though it might be in lots of bucket lists, going “round” Australia often stays just that, a dream. So for me when my late husband died at far too young an age, it became something that would never happen. Now years later and married to Frank (16 years now) having both lost our spouses to cancer (and only meeting after they had died), travel appeared on the horizon. But it was never going to be the ultimate road trip especially at our ages. So we discovered cruising in 2011 and love it. The opportunity to circumnavigate, to travel all the way round this vast island was a “no brainer”. The huge diversity is so evident when you do the trip in a month instead of a year. I appreciate you only scratch the surface of this beautiful land, but you get to enjoy the beautiful cities, the red dirt of the “top end”, the amazing coast line, excursions to beautiful beaches, massive termite mounds in the Northern Territory, waterfalls in out back places. I will happily redo this cruise as there is so much to see and do in every place.

We used Qantas annual insurance for my husband 2023. Though we are Aussies, I wonder if it’s worth asking as they trigger to the country you’re in whenever I ask about flight in another country??? Might just work? They were excellent btw paying a claim promptly when we had to change travel dates due to daughters medical condition.
